The Chelsea Society have recognised Ian's worth by appointing him to the Board...a very smart move on the part of the Society.
The extremists did a great disservice to the people of this Borough when they shafted someone who 'made a difference' rather than just mouthing off about changing lives.
Well done, Ian
Great news. Henderson now needs to be Labour Group leader of the council
ReplyDeleteIan Henderson is a failure. Yes, he was quite a vocal Sutton Estate resident and may or may not have contributed to the estate being saved. But he never managed to get voted in by locals onto the Colville shortlist in 2022. He wasn’t shafted by anyone and simply couldn’t get local support. Nothing to do with anyone else but himself. If locals don’t want to vote for him that is entirely their right to do so. He doesn’t have a god given right to be elected onto the council. And he is perfectly entitled to stand for another party or independently if he thinks he can get enough support from residents.
ReplyDeleteAnd he needn’t be a councillor to organise the saving of his home estate. There are hundreds of council estates across the country under threat of demolition that are regularly saved by resident action, most of which don’t have local councillors as residents. So it probably would have happened regardless of him being a councillor or not. There was already enough public backlash. The readers of FTHN must get over their obsession with Ian Henderson and allow him to get on with the new chapter he has forged quite late in life in his sexual awakening with (24 years his junior) Mete Coban. It has re-energised him, and they must now be allowed to fornicate in peace without every move being reported by The Dame.
Unfortunately the election process was manipulated by those who shall not be named.
DeleteIs it correct that Emma Dent Coad destabilised Ian? She stopped short of the dirty trick of sending the police round to his house. Two other Councillors had that to contend with.
DeleteInstead, EDC suggested that Ian was a Tory because he helped out at a Foodbank during a pandemic whilst Tories were there doing the same. She expected the poor, whom she professes to understand, to go out without deliveries of food just to stay true to her Corbynite principles. Like all Marxists, she is great on theory, abysmal on pragmatism. She should be brought up before a workers' militia.
She manipulated the selection process by getting her daughter, Connie Blott, on the list as a nomination just to make it harder for Ian. He had a much better chance of getting in to parliament than she ever did.
Yes: Ian does not have to be a Councillor, just as Dent Coad does not have to be an MP. She had no god given right to be selected. Notwithstanding that she is unsuitable on account racial prejudice to Black and Jewish people.
No it wasn’t
DeleteThis is an utterly outrageous suggestion, that libels two good members of the Labour Party. Indeed the administration of FTHN should identify the cowardly poster by their IP address and report the matter.
DeleteWhat does come across rather clearly is that the author is squirming with jealousy and self-loathing… Perhaps they ought to take a visit to The Golden Lion in Soho and pick up a guardsman 💂♂️
Nasty gossip….
EDCs crew need to move on with their obsession with Ian. He’s a winner, coad is a public liability
DeleteMr Miller, I stand by everything I have said. No one has been slandered.
DeleteThe Golden Lion in Soho is no longer gay. You probably went there for the rent boys back in the 1980's and now source them from elsewhere.
Its Slander ,but nothing more than people expect from the 'Cuddly Socialists ' supporters.
DeleteMs Anonymous,
DeleteI will defer to your knowledge of how to pick up a rent boy and am obliged for your update on The Golden Lion.
I was amused however to see you on Grindr last night and was encouraged at how you have embraced the new inter web technology.
Bravo madam indeed.
No. I get all the sex I need without resorting to IT. You obviously need grinder to get laid
DeleteMiaow
ReplyDeleteDear Ian,
ReplyDeleteI wish you well in your work with the Chelsea Society. I think you will find the people there more agreeable than those whom you encountered in the Labour Party. You were too decent for that shower. I know that some of your constituents are missing you. One lady broke her heart to me over your departure.
If you can get the ear of anyone important in the Labour Party, I hope you tell them what is going on.
I don't quite know the "who, what, when or wheres" of all of the above, but I have always found Mr Henderson dedicated to his local community. He is above party politics and clearly a lot more grown up than many of the others who slander his good name. It is a shame he is not simply acknowledged and thanked for the good he has done.
ReplyDeleteWell said, Matthew.
DeleteMatthew,
DeleteIan is not thanked for the good he has done because Emma Dent Coad thinks she can do everything better than anyone else. The truth is, she is completely useless. She did for poor, Ian.
Spot on, Matthew. Ian did the impossible in saving Sutton Estate
DeleteI agree, Justin.
DeleteCan FTHN please move on from the whole Ian Henderson & EDC saga? What else is going on under the Dame’s nose that we don’t know about because everything is being consumed by these 2 individuals. Close the wounds and move on
ReplyDeleteDent Coad has shown a wickedness to Henderson and deserves the Dame's coverage of her iniquity.
DeleteAnd the Scots
DeleteNo she isn’t
DeleteUtterly bored of seeing non stories about EDC & Henderson now. Stop talking about this
ReplyDeleteShame, you'll get over the boredom. I love reading about EDC &Henderson.
DeleteIf we don't have Henderson , it could be Press, Atkinson, Blakeman, Healey, Delaney, etc etc. Chickens coming home to roost.
ReplyDeleteWho’s Delaney? Press was deselected due to not being very effective. Healey was well past her point of retirement. Atkinson retired of his own accord. Blakeman also retired.
DeleteHave you asked yourself about the Councillors aforementioned and their relationship with Emma Dent Coad?
DeleteWhy has JD been mentioned? Why should an innocent resident who has never been a councillor or held a senior position at KLP be making an appearance in these comments?
DeleteExactly.
Delete21.14. It sounds ageist to say "Healey was well past her point of retirement." Age is no barrier to doing a job or being an elected member of the Council. With age comes wisdom.
DeleteWould Emma Dent Coad have said the same thing about Tony Benn, Dennis Skinner or Michael Foot who were all getting on in years? I doubt it because they were all on the hard left and she likes that.
Healey had to go because she opposed Dent Coad and was an obstacle to Dent Coad getting on to the ballot paper at the General Election.
Its bad news when current Labour Councillors are crying to members of the public and other Colville Councillors openly asking to join the Tory Party.
ReplyDeleteGolly, gosh.
DeleteNever happened
DeleteYes it did.
DeleteMonica press was very very effective, the very best councillor i gad the privilege to meet. Monica is badly missed in Colville and Pembridge. A very good, decent, caring and intelligent person
DeleteMonica Press was actually around to help residents and knew what the job involved.
DeleteMuch of her time was taken up by laborious reading of council documents and attending meetings. She did more than she had to and this hindered her ability to properly focus on constituents. She became too engrained in the bureaucracy and ‘boringness’ of the council.
DeleteUnlike the majority of the current Labour benches who, when they can be bothered to turn up to meetings at all, see no need to have actually read the documents prepared so that decisions can be made in an informed manner. The real work of being a councillor requires preparation before a meeting and listening to what is being said by others . It is not just a question of making tub thumping speeches which have little bearing on the specifics of what is being decided. Those who make the loudest noises are rarely listened to by anyone .Those who has actually attended Council meetings or committees know that Cllr. Press was always listened to with respect by all sides of the Council
DeleteThere were Councillors who attended to residents and Councillors who attended to Labour members purely to get their vote at internal meetings. Thus the good ones get pushed out bu those who play the system and have no moral basis for beong a Councillor
ReplyDeleteIf Emma Dent Coad was less egocentric she would have saved herself a lot of trouble. Her arrogant sense of entitlement about represeting Kensington in parliament was worse than Boris Johnson's sense of entitlement. Like Boris, Emma went too far and orchestrated a dreadful capaign against Ian who is intellectually and morally superior. When you consider what Ian achieved for the Sutton Estate in Chelsea, Emma's achievements are limited, lacking in exuberance and pale in to insignificance.
DeleteDent Coad won't give up quietly. She thinks she has something to offer and has a very high opinion of herself. Highly political, knows better than anyone else what is good for people, can do the job better than anyone else and is a brilliant strategic planner.
DeleteReality Check- A female version of Corbyn. Intolerant, sloganistic, irascible and nasty to people who disagree with her - Henderson, Press, Healey, Atkinson and Blakeman - they all have a story to tell. She plumbs the depths of vileness with Black and Jewish People. Talks about people being gay when it is not necessary to do so.
I’d like to hear their stories
DeleteThey will be told.
DeleteWhen? Joint memoirs would be advisable
DeleteIt appears to be the case that Emma Dent Coad has caused nothing but trouble with all her carrying on; plotting and scheming. She tried, unsuccessfully, to shore up her candidacy for the next parliamentary election. It was a lot of dissembling and has all come to nothing because Sir Keir knows what she really is and doesn't want her. Racism and Antisemitism is in her heart.
ReplyDeleteI liked Monica Press too. Ian was also a very nice bloke. Sad how poeple are worked out.
ReplyDeleteCorbyn made EDC a PPS. She thought she would be on the Treasury Bench if Labour won the 2019 General Election. Emma on a roll, scary.
ReplyDeleteEDC was PPS for Jon Trickett not Jeremy Corbyn. It's rather doubtful she would have been promoted to the Treasury bench - it's not her subject (housing and planning are more her bag) and her stint on the Work and Pensions Committee was unremarkable
DeleteYes, EDC was PPS to Jon Trickett. Greg Hands was PPS to George Osborne. Corbyn made sure EDC got that job. Sycophancy will get you anything in politics.
DeleteWe all know that Housing and Planning are "NOT Emma's bag." She was inadequate on the TMO Board and just as inadequate on various Council Housing Committees before she became an MP. Matters fiscal were not Hands' bag either.
Knowledge of a particular issue is not the key to becoming a PPS or getting on to the Treasury Bench. Diane Abbott worked at the Home Office for around a year after leaving Cambridge with a Lower Second Class Degree. She kept telling us in the run up to the 2019 election she was a "Former Home Office Civil Servant" and was "working on Immigration Policy." A year in the Home Office, after Cambridge, does not qualify anyone to devise Immigration Policy. Diane's political ideas on immgration is what got her the Home Office brief.
Alan Johnson held the Shadow Economics brief under Ed Milliband and he knows even less about Economics than Emma Dent Coad and that is saying something. He stated that he would have to get an 'Economics Crammer." Being close to Corbyn and being on message with his politics is what gets you up the greasy political pole. Emma was totally sycophantic in her hero worship.
Apparently Kensington selection is tonight is that true? Hopefully Coban & Henderson will have the door shut on their dirty campaign
ReplyDeletePowell is likely to win. He’s the local candidate and the people can relate to him. Plus he has worked with Obama.
DeleteMete is so good looking! Imagine if he became the MP of Kensington, would defo be in the Parliament Hottie of the Year calendar.
ReplyDeleteHe looks evil. Very sinister. And the lisp leaves a lot to be desired
DeleteHe’s Way better looking than Emma DC and her Oompa Loompa stooges. People can look at his photos and see a fit man and can do the physical work of the job, matched with an education that exceeds Emma’s CV (student socialist who hasn’t done a proper job aside from shifting decent cllrs like Henderson).
DeleteEmma's educational achievements?? What ever happened to her Ph.d?
DeleteCan you imagine how insufferable she would be if she became Dr. Dent Coad?
How many CSE's did Emma get?
When is the Kensington selection going to take place?
ReplyDeleteI can think we call safely say that Coad has been an unmitigated disaster.
ReplyDeleteWhat did she achieve for Grenfell?
What did she achieve for Council tenants:-
(i) when she was on the TMO Board?
(ii) when she was on all these Housing Committees at RBKC in the run up to Grenfell?
(iii) for the Grenfell Action Group in opposing the disastrous refurbishment?
She cannot say it was all the Tories fault with her nice posh voice and expect us all to accept it. Just look at what Ian and Andrew achieved for the Sutton Estate.
We have lost the wrong one from the Council. Coad must reproach herself. Wish Ian was still on the Council.
People in St. Helen's Ward, who are poorer than most, are feeling the pinch with expensive energy bills.
ReplyDeleteDoes Councillor Dent Coad blame Putin for turning the supply of gas in to a weapon against most European economies?
or
does Councillor Dent Coad support Putin, the genocidal maniac's inmvasion of Ukraine and Crimea, by blaming the existence of NATO for the instability that we are now all paying for in St Helen's Ward?
If Ian Henderson represented St. Helen's Ward (instead of Emma Dent Coad) he would have had no problem in answering the serious question posed by 09.07 above.
DeleteI am a refugee from Ukraine. This woman's refusal to back the people of Ukraine and condemn this nonsense about NATO is disgraceful.
DeleteOh be quiet
Delete13.23. The Ukranian Refugee and her children are staying with me in Notting Hill. I helped her write what she wanted to say. How dare you tell her to be quiet! She is here with her two children and is worried sick about her husband in Ukraine who is fighting Putin. Tell Coad to come out on the side of right.
DeleteIf you search the Kensington Labour Twitter, or that of the chair David Kear or Emma. You will find nothing that supports Ukraine. They can not even bring it to tweet let alone show solidarity to the Ukrainian community in Kensington. Their dear leader Corbyn himself is talking this weekend on a panel with not a single Ukrainian but full of Putin shills like Jill Stein. He also tacitly wants Russia to keep the land via the status quo as he calls it and was expertly put down by the Foreign Secretary in Parliament.
DeleteDear Dame,
DeleteThis thread from "Come on Emma" up to and including 13.41 above should be a cover page story in its own right showing up Kensington's left supporting Putin.
How vile! Emma must be cast out and shunned by right thinking people along with any Councillors who agree with her.
EDC's not fit to lick anyone's boots. Expel her from Labour.
DeleteThis is a democracy. People are entitled to say what they like. if 13.23 thinks Putinism is so good, clear off over there.
DeleteWould someone explain to me why Emma Dent Coad still enjoys membership of the Labour Party?
DeleteIf she is not suitable to be a Labour MP presumably on account of her racism and antisemitism, why is she suitable to be a Labour Councillor and Leader of the Opposition Group on the Council?
I think anyone who refuses to condemn war mongering Putin should not be a member of the Labour Party (and that includes anyoine who blames the existence of NATO as the cause of this most horrendous war.) Emma joined Stop the War nothing wrong with that. But why is her Twitter feed silent on the subject of Ukraine and Putin's war mongering.
For years Emma's Twitter feed described her as a "Proud Antiracist Campaigner," but her two brushes with racism suggest otherwise. Her Twitter feed held herself out as being antiracist, why? because Corbyn liked that - but it wasn't true. If she holds herself out as antiracist, why can't she hold herself out as being on the side of Ukrainians including those living Kensington.
Imagine how Ukrainians living in Kensington feel when the Leader of the Opposition Group on the Council thinks more about her relationship with Jeremy Corbyn than she does about them.
Is the problem that the local Labour Party is full of Putin supporters, racists and antisemites and these most serious issues are tolerated.
Supporting Putin is as bad as supporting Stalin, Hitler or Pol Pot. Dictators on the left or right are the scum of the earth as are their supporters.
DeleteCorbyn and Dent Coad are on the side of the Russian Aggressors.
DeleteIn the days of Communism, they would have been on the side of Communist Agressors.
Too true. 09.55
DeleteShe won't say anything about this without clearing it with Corbyn first. Corbyn's puppet on a string
ReplyDeleteWhen is the bloody selection happening? Once again zero transparency from labour
ReplyDeleteThursday 24th is the selection date. The start of a New Era for Kensington Labour Party. Out with the old - all of them
ReplyDeleteIs 24th November really "the New Era for Kensington Labour?"
DeleteOr more of the same - support for Putin and Corbyn. Left wing entrysim and homophobic tendencies.
Left wing entryism by whom exactly? All of the remaining shortlist are right wingers
DeleteNot right wing at all . Sensible centrists who have gone to great lengths to stay out of the pointless sectarianism. Huge interest and warn support by ordinary members for all candidates. Great optimism that the era of Sterile 'Emmaite' control is coming to an end
DeleteRight wingers?? Only because EDC was not allowed to stand. If you don't about the entryism by now, you are obviously not in the Labour Party.
ReplyDeleteIf you wana know about entryism ask Ian. Other former councillors know all about it too.
DeleteHenderson for London Mayor
ReplyDeleteBin ULEZ!
