CLLR ALI GOES FULL ABHOR AND RECOMMENDS WITCH HUNT AMONGST BONKERS SUPPORTERS

click to read.

Cllr Ali has been hospitalised so has only just noticed that some of his feverish and rabid supporters have been sullying his reputation.

He tells the Dame he has many Jewish friends....

  4. He's embarrassed by his supporters. That's why his website only mentions one of them.

    2. He’s useless. And hard to understand. And only cares for his Somali constituents. He spends most of his time in other wards tending to Somali matters and assisting people in housing/benefit applications. Some have witnessed him doing so. Very few occasions he has actually engaged with people who aren’t from Somalia.

  5. Are the local members set to vote tonight?

  6. This statement goes slightly beyond the literacy levels previously shown by Cllr Ali. Either he has completed extremely thorough dictionary lessons while hospitalised or it was written by someone else. I’m calling the latter.

  7. There is a vote scheduled tonight for NE branch.

What happens next? Ali was selected by South, Joe Powell selected by NW and what happens after NE selection? Does it go to online voting so all members choose preferred candidate out of the branch nominees?

So if Mete Coban hasn’t been selected by any branch he won’t be on the final list for all members to vote for?

Ali is a sore loser. He spits his dummy out and stamps his feet like a petulant toddler having a tantrum when things don't go his way.

  8. It's hard to read a lot into the votes when the Labour Party is refusing to disclose the full results but it looks as if this could end up as a two horse race between Ali & Powell.

    2. Dear Dame,

Please present all available KLP gossip and a perfect scoop for us tomorrow. Get all the news about these selection meetings and bundle them all into one large, very long post. It would be greatly appreciated and wonderful entertainment. Really hoping to see some salacious gossip about Kensington Labour and current goings on.

Afsana's Tweet about being nominated by South Ken Branch is still up. Ali's Tweet about winning there was deleted along with his previous account. Afsana was not recorded in the unofficial ballot. There have been no official figures given out by the Labour Party. One round of voting was stopped because members couldn't get in to vote. There are reports of members of South Branch not being able to get in to vote. How can anyone have faith in this process?

    3. He says 101 voted and he got over a third of the vote

    4. There were over 300 members voting in North West. Guessing the South Branch votes weren't recorded properly or that Cowan supporters couldn't get into the vote.

    2. Dear Dame , you probably will have no interest in Joe Powell because he is efficient , able , LOCAL ,conscientious & squeaky clean.Altogether an excellent candidate and a genuinely nice man - so of no interest to The Dame!

    3. The candidates on the longlist:
      Joe Powell
      Kasim Ali
      Mete Coban
      Stephen Cowan
      Rita Begum
      Salman Shaikh
      Vicky McGuirk
      Afsana Lachaux
      Molly Harthil

      The Selection Committee meets today.
Hoping the Labour Party takes a few important factors into account :
      - Connections to the local communities in Kensington
      - Long-term work candidates have done both here and elsewhere
      - Share of the vote
      - Conduct and engagemment with our communities
      - Their priorities with regard to policy and how they would take these forward in Parliament
      - What their undererstading of Kensington Constiruency as a whole is

    4. This is so bloody confusing.

What are the results from all of the branch meetings that have taken place so far? 2 of the names on that list are completely unknown and have had zero public or online presence. Results are being hidden by the party - as Labour members we should get to know what the results are. Joe Powell says he’s won NW & NE branch nominations. Afsana and Kasim Ali both say they’ve won South branch nomination.

What is the process for selecting onto the shortlist? Presumably whoever has got the most votes at long listing branch meetings automatically goes onto the shortlist? What it the purpose of the selection committee if members have already had their vote? What happens next? Why is it so bloody hard to be transparent about what is going on?

      Delete
  13. Dot't think anyone understands this confusing process. Agree with above. The absence of transparency might mean that some of them without local support are being fast tracked purely because of quotas & that's outrageous.

    ReplyDelete
  14. All we need to know based on london region rules that Joe seems cleared for short listing as he has won two nominations.

    ReplyDelete
  15. This is a shambles. Vicky McGurk claims on Twitter that she is not long listed in Kensington, responding to Michael Crick who calls her ubiquitous (Blackburn Cllr & former candidate for Labour general Secretary). Vicky is long listed in Bolsover - but has applied for multiple seats.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Why is there no transparency about Labour’s selection process?

We need the full long list and number of votes for each candidate in each branch meeting to be publicly released. WTF is going on?

    2. Who would be good for Kensington would be someone who is local (but not part of EDC's group or RBKC) , in touch with our communities, hard working, has a campaigning background someone who can fight our corner in Parliament & still stay grounded.

That candidate is Joe Powell. Make up your own minds about some of the others.

Here's hoping Labour do the right thing. This should not be a personality contest. Who shouts loudest isn't necessarily best. What would be bad for Kensington would be an absentee MP who hardly ever goes here . We also definitely do not need another narcissistic attention seeker like EDC or a Labour version of Dizzy Lizzy,

  17. Purpose of the selection committee is to whittle the list down & brief the party officials Then the party officials decide the final shortlist based on the votes & committee feedback. The final shortlist vote goes back to the members who then vote for the caniddate. Purpose of al the votes was to see if anyone had decisive support locally which would be Joe Powell who would be through to the final shortlist unless the committee or officials have an issue. I could have it wrong but that's my guess how it works

  18. Massive skullduggery going on by the Labour Party - people put on long list without being informed.

  20. Unfortunately no credible female candidates put their names forward for Kensington (probably put off by the poisonous atmosphere) but we are lucky in having no less than 3 credible male candidates who are not taunted by the Dent Coad regime ( Powell + Coban + Cowan). Unfortunately few people seem interested in experienced outsider Cowan. But at least we still have a good choice to make in either Joe Powell or Mete Coban. Either represents a new beginning for Kensington Labour & the certain end of Flicka

  22. Apparently Cllr Ali has not made the shortlist. It’s between Joe Powell & Mete Coban. How can Coban be on the shortlist if he’s only got one branch nomination but Ali is kept off with 2 nominations?

Why is nobody being transparent about the results and what the fuck is going on?

    1. What two nominations? He only has South Branch nomination based on Low turn out and failure of local party to explain rules.

  23. Because the Labour Party has finally realised that KLP is rotten to the core and has finally intervened that local members will now have a fair contest between decent ,honest and well meaning candidates . Its just disappointing that they did not intervene a year ago - with the result that the borough council is still lumbered with a totally useless opposition for the next 3 years
