Special News Bulletin from Greg Hands MP27 September 2023
Dear Resident,
I am writing to you regarding the popular M&S on the King's Road in Chelsea.
Town Hall planners have now recommended the planning application for the re-development of 81-103 King's Road for approval.
Given this news, I have started a campaign to ensure that Marks & Spencer remains in this prominent location on Chelsea’s King’s Road.
Alongside thousands of objections by local residents and Resident Associations, I have repeatedly voiced concerns with Council planners. To read more about my actions on this local issue, please click here.
It is vital for Chelsea residents that Marks & Spencer remains in this location on the King’s Road. When I met with Marks & Spencer in April this year, I was glad to hear that the retailer very much wants to remain on the King's Road.
Now it is time to show Marks & Spencer the local demand for this store by signing my petition.
Best wishes,Greg Hands

Many of Felicity Buchan's constituents depend on M&S so why her silenc?
ReplyDeleteThe M&S on King’s Road isn’t her constituency or her responsibility. There are stores in Kensington High Street, Notting Hill Gate and Earl’s Court which cover all areas of her constituency.
DeleteWhat a very strange comment. Of course she has an direct interest...thousands of her constitiuents use M&S in King's Rd
DeleteShe hasn't uttered a single word or bothered to meet with concerned residents about the Kensal Canalside massive development planned in her own constituency. Useless

This must be a 'first' for a Tory minister to break ranks and attack a Conservative council's planning department. Must be an election looming
ReplyDeleteGreg Hands has become a populist
ReplyDeleteHands, the opportunist and populist, taking a leaf out of Dent Coad's book. Not the way to do it, Gregory.
DeleteFlicker has not noticed how marginal her seat at Westminster is and how close she is to becoming dust at the next General Election. Wiser Tories, like Party Chairman Greg Hands and MP for Chelsea, have become populists, have started listening to voters and articulating their concerns. Well done Geg taking up the campaign against the pygmy planners in Hornton Street and their crazy support for M&S Kings Road.
ReplyDeleteThe MP for Kensington needs to wake up. Many of her voters shop at M&S in the Kings Road. She needs to come in behind her Chairman and give him much needed support
She has noticed how marginal her seat is but Flicka isn't nearly as polished an opportunist and conperson as Hands. The college lie backfired on her

ReplyDeleteHe has made no mention of no demolishment.
Dame, have you clicked onto his link? The photo of him outside? And he claims to have visited or joined the campaign when he did not come to the stand a single time.
I assume he’s using the name because it’s in all these I ❤️ Chelsea postcards. He's a plagiarist!
Typical opportunist Hands jumping on the
Deletelocal campaigns bandwagon again.
Do you remember how Hands jumped on the Lord Brocket and Piper Building bandwagon when he went on about Thames Water's "stink hole" for the their new super sewer?
DeleteBen Coleman, the Labour candidate for C&F, started a campaign to save M&S a short while ago. Hands is, as usual, trying to jump on a bandwagon that is already moving.
DeleteOne local woman saved Cremorne Gardens, a postage stamp of green open space, off Lots Road, Chelsea, from Thames' Water's wrecking ball and proposed new pumping station. She had no support from this Greg Hands MP but achieved a single handed victory. Cosying up to Lord Brockett and his well heeled, millionaire, mates in The Piper Building in Fulham will not do.
DeleteHopefully, Hands, the complacent gutlessTory, will be shafted at the General Election.
DeleteHANDS OFF M&S
ReplyDeleteIf the planning committee allows this then ward councillors will be in for a choppy ride at election time
ReplyDeleteWishful thinking when the Labour group of cllrs are so weak & most show very little if any interest in matters outside North Kensington.
