SPOT THE BLOT ON THE STREETSCAPE!

Someone on the Rotten Borough has a vested interest in foiling BT's attempts to superspeed our broadband. It cannot be based on aesthetic judgement-Exhibitionist Road and the dreadful ' screaming' stainless steel rubbish bins are testament to that.
So take a look at a BT cabinet installed in Westminster. Compared to the Moylan bin it is barely visible. To view close up just click on the pic.

A 'Screaming For Attention' £5k Rubbish Bin
So what can be the reason? In the next few days Ludo will be bringing you the results of his sleuthing....and it all looks, as he says, "rather, dodgy, Auntie."
Pooter has top links with BT, having been on a couple of their 'educational trips' to exotic locations. Maybe he can intervene....

  1. Yes, those who followed Pooter's luxury trips to exotic climes will remember that he was being 'educated into leadership skills' by BT. So has he fallen out with his mentors? We should be told......

  2. These pictures tell the whole story - and expose the Hornton Street Town Hall for the rotten, corrupt, sinking ship that it is.

One blogger says that BT was prevented from installing their boxes because they would not play the game and "oil palms".

Another blogger is outraged that Kensington residents are being denied fast broadband.

Every other Borough, except K&C, has welcomed the BT boxes.

A feeble K&C Press Release states that "BT must have regard to our historic streetscapes". Crap, crap, crap

  3. Come on Cockell. BT paid for you to attend three jollies in New York, San Francisco and Boston to learn about leadership and new technology.

So far all you did was creep off to buy friends expensive dinners.

Now its BT payback time old boy.

  4. The K&C press release (see Town Hall website) states that residents can sod BT and go with Virgin who already put in fast broadband to Kensington and Chelsea.

    What about existing BT customers?

Do the thick heads in the Town Hall not understand that they have created a monopoly by denying access to BT.

Has Cockell forgotten that he is supposed to belong to the Conservative Party? And Conservative policy is to insist on competition?

    What are you clowns smoking?

  5. All that BT engineers have to do is grease a few palms in Hornton Street, in the time honoured fashion, and hey presto, their boxes will be viewed in "a new light"

  6. God save us from Cllr Moylans "streetscapes". Nothing "historic" about them.

Fitzpatrick of PR has really got his knickers in a twist. And not for the first time. Why are taxpayers paying this prat £100k per year, plus gold plated pension?

  7. Once more, we see an example of failed Leadership by Cllr Cockell. The man does not have the first clue about the 21st Century - or not much else for that matter.

What on earth did the thick Conservative Councillors think they were doing by electing this failed businessman to lead our Borough?

Don't be so aggressive 15.41. Everyone makes a mistake once in a while.

All Sir Merrick needs to do is say "We screwed up". "We got carried away with our heritage". "Whats good enough for Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster is good enough for K&C"

My goodness, he would earn some Brownie points

  10. No, no. The pigs will fly......

  11. Would BT not agree to making their boxes in matching stainless steel?

  12. Good idea 18.21

K&C would have to pay the difference

  13. Better than spending it on Cockell's foreign trips

  14. BT customers in K&C who want fast broadband can move to Virgin

    What is fast broadband?

  16. Angry Resident9 June 2012 at 20:34

Officer, are you stupid or what?

Moving to a new broadband supplier requires hours on the telephone, huge penalties (most customers are on one or two year contracts) and a change of email address with all the inconvenience that is caused by that.

Obviously you started life as a cretin and have developed into a super cretin

  17. Phelps friend, fast broadband will help you to find boys faster!

  18. Dame

It think your readers are under a serious misapprehension. K&C is not run for the good of residents but to satisfy Pooter's needs and vanities.

  19. It's not just BT that are being affected, Virgin have been banned from doing work too until the Olympics have finished.

So whilst the world is watching, real professionals attending the olympics will have wind up Internet? Or will moylan and cockroach be in the bowels of the town hall tapping morse code messages for them? The borough will be a laughing stock.

    Bunch of Morons.

  20. This bin looks like a giant fag putter outer. A carbunckle on the streetscape!

  21. Sounds like the Town Hall planners are looking for a bribe from BT. All part of the house that Cockell built.

  22. My Mate The Builder10 June 2012 at 10:33

So what? A few quid to to buy a drink never did anyone any harm. If Cllr Cockell can buy mates dinner in New York on a Saturday night and charge up to tax payers, whats wrong with Officers asking BT for a bung? Good luck to them

  23. The K&C Press Release explaining why BT has been banished from K&C is an outstanding example of PR incompetence. When these guys are in a hole they really know how to keep digging

    ReplyDelete
  24. Readers have not heard from Cllr Palmer in recent weeks. He seems to have fizzled out. One would have thought that the Billy Bunter lookalike would have an intense interest in fast broadband

    ReplyDelete
  25. Clearly ex Mayor with influence (disgraced ex Cllr Phelps) has a strong motive to get fast broadband. No doubt he will have a quiet word with his close friend, Cllr Mayor "Buffy" Buckmaster

  26. Kensington Resident10 June 2012 at 13:07

Why has the Cabinet Member for Civil Society, Cllr Fielding-Mellen, not spoken? The council website trumpets that his job is "to keep everyone on their toes and seek continuous improvement". The young pretender should be aware of the political, economic and reputational downside of this crass decision to ban BT and deny residents fast broadband.

The truth is that Cllr Mellen is too busy organising "events". Hard on the heals of his party for Portobello entrepreneurs at the Science Museum (paid for by hard earned council tax), Rock will be hosting The Big SHOUT at Chelsea football ground on 23rd June (see press release on Council web site). Young people will be invited from K&C to tell councillors how they would like to help and to learn about sexual and emotional health. Disgraced ex Cllr Phelps is angling for an invitation.

If I know anything about young people, the only way to get them along will be to give out free Ipads. Perhaps BT could donate a couple of hundred as a loss leader for fast broadband?

  27. Will Buffy send an invitation to his friend, disgraced ex Cllr Phelps?

  28. Tory Councillor10 June 2012 at 13:09

I doubt very much if bribery is an issue in the decision to ban BT. More like tinpot dictators exercising power. And taking their lead from we know who.

  29. Cllr Fielding-Mellen is a waste of space. A clear example of idle hands are expensive to maintain.

  30. Fielding-Mellen believes that the Rotten Borough is for the rich only. He is an unqualified nob who despises poor people.
