A LOAD OF RUBBISH |
And the pictures remind us how this £30 million folly looks-even after it's £7,000 a week clean.
"I’ll tell you what is wrong with Exhibition Road. In short, an enormous amount of money has been spent on a bland, boring, ugly road surface. With equally bland, boring ugly grey lampposts.
The same scheme could have been executed at a tenth of the cost. Probably using the far superior York Stone.
Who was in charge of this money pit?"

PUBLIC REALM 'ART' CURATED BY Cllr "BOYS" MOYLAN |
SHOCKED LOCAL PIGEONS |
The pictures say it all
ReplyDeleteIs the Council monitoring the cleaning? I can't believe £7,000 a week is being spent on this; they're being conned.
ReplyDeleteits true. The claeners have to use high pressure jets to get rid of oil stains and gum. Problem is the oil sinks in and is difficult to shift. That is why it is all looking such a mess. Shame
ReplyDeleteExhibitionist Road is filthy and dangerous. It makes K & C a laughing stock. Unfortunately it was £30 million of our money thrown at a sick joke. Nothing for poor kids or old ladies, the money goes on brass bands and toy elephants.
ReplyDeleteI hear Tot Brill has been given the go-ahead to spend £1m of Council taxpayers' hard-earned cash on 'performance pieces' for tourists at Exhibition Road this summer.
ReplyDeleteHow much is the Council spending on Olympic themed sports events for children in the rest of the borough over the summer?
Oh yes, nothing.
No wonder so many of the residents don't give a damn about the Olympics. It's seen as a nuisance.
Like most things relating to Moylan and his mob their legacy is...filth.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Cllr Cockell and his colleagues, accompanied by the band of the Welsh Guards, will entertain us by walking on their hands the length of Exhibitionist Road.
ReplyDeleteThis still won't fool the rest of us into believing the place anything but disastrous. No amount of dolling it up will hide the fact that this Road fails as a thoroughfare. It's a vulgar, costly and filthy eyesore. Long live Gordon Taylor PhD BSc CEng MICE MIMechE MIET. Long live tarmac.
We should be supporting home industry, this should have been paved in York stone or something else British. It's ugly, filthy and above all dangerous.
ReplyDeletePooter et all would not be able to stand on their hands, they are too busy dragging their knuckles on the ground.
Packet brown will no doubt commission some 'moving fart work' to make people look up rather than down as a distraction from this mess.
