"Kensington was hit by what was described as a 'once in 130 years event'. The floods ruined 400 homes, 13 schools and 2 libraries.
The Council commissioned 2 independent consultants; a meteorologist and a sewerage engineer to see how residents could be protected and pressed Thames Water to prevent this happening again.
The Council believes it unacceptable that residents have suffered because of a lack of preparation by Thames Water."
14 years later and the Council is still spewing out the same rubbish whilst Thames Water ignores it and continues to spew out sewage into peoples' homes and enrich its management and shareholders at our expense
It's enough to make you see RED
This is a wake up call for Councillors and our MP, Felicity Buchan. It has become a habit of the politicians, at the first sign of trouble, to shaft residents by commissioning a "report" and then filing it. No action. And then forget about it.
ReplyDeleteGrenfell guys, BE WARNED.
Dear Dame
DeletePlease make sure that Cllr Mona Rossi and MP Felicity Buchan are reminded of this RBKC report which paid for by residents out of Council Tax
This is a sad comment on Public Administration in The Royal Borough. Slap dash and neglectful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity that the Public Audit Committee was abolished and hard pressed tax payers need to continue to absorb all this wasteful spending on reports that are never read and never acted upon.
Just a job creation exercise by bloated and Leaderless bureaucrats in Hornton Street. The current incumbents ("Leader" Campbell and "Twerp" Quirk) have achieved new heights of administrative failure. Their specialty is public policy by opinion poll. Trashy set up.
