MR PRICE-THOMPSON WANTS TO ENGAGE WITH YOU, DAME

Dear Dame

Mr. Price-Thompson is anxious everybody fills in this survey organised by the CfGS (Centre for Governance and Scrutiny) to see how the Council engages with the public.

He has asked that all residents use the survey.

There is not long to go, the deadline is in just over a week, on Wednesday the 31st of March.
You can do it here SURVEY -URGENT

My very best regards to you, dear Dame

  1. The survey is quite simple. It asks if respondents know how the council works and whether, in their experience, the Council has the interests of residents at heart. It's a golden opportunity to tell it like it is.

    1. I had a bad experience of a previous "consultation" by the council , using an external consultancy.

We were all put into groups at the town hall and asked to write criticism of our experiences with the council. Although almost everyone present wrote something that needed to be addressed, the council issued a report where they came out "smelling of roses" and didn't need to implement much change - it was like a flash back to soviet era regimes pushing out PR saying that everyone was happy and that they were doing a great job.....

For this consultation, I wrote a clear and detailed comment of my own experiences engaging with RBKC.

What was immediately a red flag about this consultation is that there was no receipt emailed to prove I had taken part in the survey and there was no way of copying the form that I had submitted.....

Sorry to use another colour analogy but this has the makings of another RBKC "white wash"

  2. This survey has been closely hidden by our £180,000 a year PT guy. Nothing in any of his unread publications. I wonder why? Is it because he has no control over what residents might say?

  3. There's a fraud department in Hornton Street. It's another state secret. It seems to exist to catch poor people desperately trying to make ends meet rather than major fraud within the council itself.
Typical RBKC. Despite that, we should respond to this survey, if only to prove that we're watching them.

    1. Sorry, fraud at every level costs us money. I am pleased to hear that those doing illegal stuff are caught

  4. This is an example of terrible advice from the gauche Price-Thompson. He advised the Leadership Team not to promote this external survey so residents would not know that there was an opportunity to give their true feelings. Inevitably, as has happened the gaff is blown and now everybody will be annoyed by his petty subterfuge. He should have asked residents to use the opportunity to help the Council even better to understand where it could improve. An opportunity lost.
