The new commissioner, Mark Rowley, looks as if he is trying to play catch up with the brilliant Chief Constable of Greater Manchester, Stephen Watson.

Watson was asked to produce a business plan when applying. The committee expected a 50-page document: instead they got a one-pager replete with common sense about putting officers on the streets.

Watson is an old style senior police officer. 

He claims his family's tradition of military service is what guides him in managing the Force.

We need Watson in London now that he has taken GMP out of Special Measures.

UP TO 2 YEARS IN JAIL FOR CARRYING A MACHETE OR ZOMBIE KNIFE!

At Notting Hill Carnival it was clear that machete carriers had no fear of the consequences of carrying bladed weapons

The penalties should be 10 years for carrying either of these disgusting murder weapons or any other bladed weapon.

Knife crime is rampant in the Kensington constituency so Felicity Buchan needs to step up and justify these pathetic sentencing guidelines.

The penalties are an insult to law-abiding citizens and victims.

The other day, the Dame was talking to a security guard at Waitrose. The guard referred to a 'homeless beggar' outside the shop. 

He told the Dame the beggar probably earned more than him and worked on a day and night shift basis!

I am tired of this thuggery being called 'anti-social' behaviour These addicts, dealers, knife knife-welding thugs are breaking the law and should be locked up with proper sentencing for their crimes. 

Residents have been put through complete hell, with these so-called 'vulnerable' people basically ruling our community. 

They blatantly sit on our doorsteps injecting, snorting, and smoking their crap...which by the way we fund via their benefits. They are not 'homeless' either they have homes and either choose not to go to them or eventually become so obnoxious they are asked to leave...to go to another home. 

We residents have been asked to report everything we see to the police...basically doing their job...why? 

Because the oracle mayor and his gang of idiots demand evidence before they actually allocate police to certain areas. 

We are not safe in Earls's Court because it's ruled by grey tracksuit (usually from prison) wearing criminals, who know how to manipulate and play the system. 

We need police on the frontline of this insanity along with some police dogs. Whatever anyone thinks of Felicity Buchan please send a statement to support section 80....it's not about her it's about residents of Earl's Court.

Talking of wealth....in an interview today, Rachel Reeves, the shadow chancellor made these comments on any form of wealth tax: “We won’t be doing that. It’s a denial.” 

A Labour source said the denial also applied to “any form of ‘mansion tax’”, which has also been discussed by Labour in recent years.

This declaration by Reeves is clear-cut. She goes on to say that her government will work with businesses to grow the economy competing with France to lure inward investment.

It looks as if a Conservative government is having its clothes nicked!

Many of Felicity Buchan's constituents have seen the value of their properties increase through inflation. In its 13 years of misrule, no real attempt has been made to lessen the burden of IHT. 

It is time Felicity made her position clear on this unfair form of double taxation. 

The Dame was recently at a dinner with a young Conservative MP. She tackled him over the iniquity of IHT. 

He replied the Government would lift the allowance to £1.5m.

It has taken the prospect of a GE defeat to squeeze this long-overdue concession.

EARLS COURT AND A SECTION 80

Earls Court has been a hotbed of anti-social behaviour for years so why have residents had to go to the effort of making statements to the police in order to get a Court Order for a Section 80 Partial Closure Notice.....

Felicity Buchan should have organised this years ago. 

Only when severely pressed by us residents did she deign to help.

For 13 years this government has done nothing about the tsunami of crime washing over our streets and our lives.

Felicity Buchan is a member of that government so is very much part of the problem.

Have we ever heard her call for severe sentencing for carrying or using a knife? No, never.

If a mandatory 10-year sentence was imposed for carrying a knife and double for using the problem would go away.

We know that Miss Buchan is politically ambitious: it's a shame she cannot be a bit more ambitious on our behalf by coming up with a radical plan to halt knife crime in its tracks.

As for the Met....it should be immediately put into Special Measures. It has not been fit for purpose for years.

Lordly Moylan's 'folie de grandeur' was the £30 million Exhibition Rd  built using granite transported thousands of miles away from China(yes, the Dame is aware that the same granite could have been bought from Scotland but Danny has a thing about Asia)

Moylan was warned by experts the layout was a grave danger to pedestrians.

The idea of mixing cars and walkers was madness but many feel Lordly is a bit bonkers. (His other  bonkers idea was to remove dustbins throughout the Borough)

As predicted the road is  causing a multitude of problems highlighted here. One such is its unconventional grey-tiled layout and low-drop kerb is confusing for some people, 

One 71-year-old said: “I almost got skittled when I was standing out here talking to someone"

“I stood back and didn’t even realise I was on the road.”

Another said that a woman was knocked to the ground by a taxi performing a U-turn “right in front of us” earlier this year. 

A member of a nearby church claims to have seen a schoolgirl hit by a taxi.

Others say tourist coaches also park on the pavement, forcing people into the road.

In February one K&C councillor claimed supercars sped down the road because its lack of high kerbs and unique grid patterns made it “look like a video game”.

The road is also a hotspot for “rev heads”, according to Alan Thomas, who manages 59-61 Princes Gate.

He said “hundreds” of people had turned up with cars outside a block of flats to rev engines until late at night, and added: “Everybody has moaned and groaned when they park their cars here and they are all different types of cars.

He added: “This road is dangerous. There are many run-ins and people walk down this road and have no sense.

“We have had accidents over the years with cars colliding into each other.”

Imperial College and other esteemed  research centres have well funded programmes looking into psilocybin as an alternative treatment for trauma(is Feilding Mellen offering free treatment to Grenfell victims?)

The question is whether Feilding Mellen and his mother are the correct people to sell psilocybin treatment courses. Imperial, for example, is rigorous in ensuring subjects for treatment trials are suitable.

The research team knows psilocybin is not necessarily suitable for some subjects.

And why was a mere inexperienced 'child' like Feilding Mellen ever given the opportunity to use K&C as a playset?

The gross irresponsibility of allowing someone ignorant of business to run a council defies belief.

Stolen in broad daylight in Knightsbridge this would never have happened a few years back.

And why would Rishi reward someone in the 'Cabinet'(what pretension!) at the time of the Grenfell disaster? 

No, Dizzy...this is not going to happen! 

The people of Kensington and beyond would not tolerate this insult.

So, who will fill the void? 

Already Cllrs Cem Kemahli and Thalassites are on manoeuvres so can we look forward to a latter-day Greco-Turkish war of words as both try to secure the £70,000 part-time salary.

Dear Dame,

We know that it is 'the silly season' and no doubt you and those you care for have already long escaped to Med or a walking holiday in The Alps? 

But could you not have left someone (even your ludicrous and dissolute nephew Ludo?) to keep the blog turning over new material and revelations.

We really are bored, bored, bored with another round of raking over the ancient failings and iniquities of that Dent Coad Woman or the 'sanctity' of Ian Henderson. 

There are new scandals at hand if one only looks.  

Why not try this one for size?

While no longer able to 'slosh around the dosh' as the borough used to our council is not yet as bankrupt as so many others. 

Every ward is given a budget of approximately £30,000 for its councillors to spend on matters of particular need or concern to the ward and for the elected councillors to encourage local charities or organisations. 

In 'the olden days' these discretionary grants did much good in the most deprived wards and at least provided hanging baskets in the affluent south! 

Judith Blakeman and Pat Mason were particularly skilled in spending their discretionary funds for the benefit of their electors 
But now rumours grow that inexperienced, idiotic or uncaring are so many of the new councillors that the ward budgets are unspent and the monies are returned to the Council's reserves.

Come on Dear Dame please instruct Ludo to do some homework over the summer and give us 'a list of shame' detailing which wards and Councillors were unable to spend the funds given to them to benefit local causes. 

Once we know which wards failed to deliver we can then dig deeper to find out if the underspends resulted from inexperience, incompetence or a principled decision not to spend unnecessary monies in these straightened times.

FELICITY BUCHAN MAKES LIFE EVEN HARDER FOR YOUNG TENANTS

Dear Dame,

Could you please ask your great friend Felicity Buchan why she is at the forefront of making it hard for landlords to get their properties back from tenants?

 

Even before the Renters Revenge Bill abolishes Section 21 (no fault) Notices she is giving her fulsome support to a Ministry of Injustice effort to thwart landlords' ability to get their properties back. See the press release  LINK

 

In our direct experience, landlords are exiting the market at pace because of this sort of ill-advised Tory scheme plus anti-landlord taxes and legislation.

 

When London landlords sell up, it is FB’s Kensington young tenant constituents who lose out through significantly higher rents.

 

The left-leaning lawyers manning this tenant's helpline will undoubtedly consider it their mandate to advise them to stay put until the landlord has a Court Order and the Bailiffs lined up. Just as housing officers at RBKC apparently still advise tenants ‘off the record’, to stay put for as long as possible- despite it being against the Council’s ‘stated’ policy.

 

Please can The Dame ask Felicity to explain why the Tories seem to think they can win tenants' votes by making life hard for landlords?

 

If the Tories really want to help tenants they should be encouraging landlords back into the market.

 

There are two very quick actions The Treasury can do to re-ignite landlords' enthusiasm to invest.

 

1. Re-instate a private landlord's ability to offset mortgage interest payments against income BEFORE tax – as in any other business.
2. Drop the extra Stamp Duty charged on landlord property purchases.

 

 Michael Gove’s Renters Revenge Bill can easily still be tweaked to leave’ No Fault’ Notices in place but with a longer Notice period. Say three or even six months.

 

At least that way a landlord can get their property back in a non-aggressive way, even if it takes a bit longer.

 

Perhaps, I can help the Dame arrange for Felicity to meet some of the landlords and tenants affected by her naïve scheme.

The Rt Honourable Grant Shapps  is very sharp. 

In the days before we were made to honour the little spiv he behaved very dishonorably and most dishonestly.

The other day he claimed he had been de-banked. 

In fury, the spiv said, "anyone who decides to devote their life to public service is essentially at risk of being penalised by banks".

He must have said this tongue-in-cheek. 

Maybe HSBC looked back at his past and thought he was a high risk..... not because of his 'public service' but because of his business ethics!
