Chelsea Old Town Hall was packed to the gunwales with residents, councillors, top coppers and Steve Greenhalgh-the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, recently accused of being unsafe in lifts....even Greg Hands took the trouble to be there and contribute.

Doubtless, our 'Prime Minister' felt a dinner with Mr Pickles was of far greater importance than turning up to contribute to this vital meeting. Who did he send instead? His boy.... Rock Feilding Mellen!
It is amazing that none of the Conservative councillors present found it odd that their leader had chosen to send this 'couldn't care less' message to residents.
Even Conservative councillors complain that this self important chump is never present at Hornton St-despite taking £1,300 a week as leader. The man is a disgrace to the Borough and the Conservative Party.

Feilding Mellen was an embarrassment last night. Wouldn't trust him with the keys to my chldren's piggy bank let alone let him have any input into the important matter of policing the Rotten Borough. Pooter should have been there!

More lack of political judgement by Pooter which has become the hallmark of this administration as The "Prime Minister" tries to hang on to his SRA. He is short changing the residents of K&C - taking their council tax to pay his £70k a year salary when he is busy doing his other jobs. Squalid situation
DeleteSir Merrick has not just let himself down but the Council by not attending this meeting as a matter of priority. One which was certainly not to be missed, I would have thought; Sir Merrick, though, clearly thought differently. The man is in a safe Tory seat and has forgotten that he is a public servant, unfortunately he has lost his way because, sadly, RBK&C is a monopoly. Sir Merrick will undeservedly in my view will be re-elected as leader if he wishes. It should be senior members of the council itself who should pull him to one side and reprimand him for not attending the meeting last night. If only there were fix terms of say a maximum of two terms for all Councillors then things would be alot different (and healthier) in RBK&C.
ReplyDeleteCan’t think why anyone would have wanted old Pooter to be there. He probably has even less between the ears than even Rocky. He is a waste of space and a constant embarrassment. However bad Rocky was, and he was pretty dreadful, Pooter would have been even worse.

DeleteAnother excellent summary by Greg Hands MP on his blog about the proposed plans by the MET and his contribution at the meeting. This MP shows an interests in matters that are important to his residents, thinks it through, and turns up at meetings to make his views known.
DeleteNo sign of the useless Kensington MP Malcolm Rifkind at the Chelsea Town Hall meeting. Too busy with his non Executive Board Meetings and remaining the highest paid non Exec in Parliament. Rifkind and Prime Minister Cockell really are a couple of chumps troughing off Royal Borough residents and tax payers
I was surprised to hear that Greg Hands had only called at a Police Counter once in the last seven years. What a dull life he must have - looks like a boring bugger anyway.
DeleteVery many people in Chelsea very much value the Lucan Place Station and Counter. I have personally had reason to call there for help several times in the last three years.
Never mind the PM Pooter - we didn't expect him to bother himself anyway - where were the other Councillors ?
The only ones I saw were two from Cremorne, out at the edge of Chelsea. They must have all been frightened of the Public Opposition generated by the possible closure of Counters.
Obviously not a fan of Greg Hands MP.
