GUPTA UPTA SCARBOROUGH

Mr Suresh Gupta is a well known character in the Rotten Borough. Not only does he have the use of Council premises at 177 Kensal Road, but his daughter, Miss Asha Gupta, is a close confidante of our revered 'Prime Minister', Sir Merrick Pooter-Cockell. Miss Gupta heads up the 'Cabinet Office' as Principal Governance Administrator. No, the Dame has damn all knowledge about what the job entails...but doubtless it is very well paid.
FRIENDS ON HIGH?
Her papa, Mr Gupta, is equally busy....
From these Council premises he operates the India Welfare Association and India Investments Plc, as well the very jovial Kensal Community Centre, where members can enjoy bucolic and alcoholic times from morning to night.
So why would such a busy man want the use of a mini bus for an April weekend jaunt to salubrious Scarborough? Is there a Masonic convention that weekend?

The Dame hears that Mr Gupta is furious with Westway Community Transport. These people do superb work helping the disabled with their transport needs-despite having their grant slashed by Pooter.

When Gupta asked them to provide a mini bus for the mysterious Scarborough jaunt, at a 'charity rate', they baulked. Could it be that they had a more urgent need for their mini bus and wanted to politely turn down Mr Gupta's request: after all, Kensal Community Centre members seem hardly in need of charity.......

Some kind person should advise the old man not to wear a paisley tie with a pinstripe. Very non U. Too much of this and he wont get past "Rocks" front door. Even Pooter does not cross dress to this extent

Mr Gupta Junior and Senior should not go to war with the Dame....she has excellent national media contacts. if she feel she is being 'got at' she will unleash her 'dogs of war' and horrible press comment will occur.
It would mightily embarrass PM Pooter were he to be linked in an article with the Gupta's....senior and junior and Miss Gupta. Pooter would be furious if the Dame planted a story that her site was being compromised

  6. Westway Community Transport do excellent work, for this community. Their drivers are always courteous, gentle and care about the people they help. In fact it is these drivers that provide another frontline service ie report that elderly people who live alone are not answering their doors, sometimes its because they are ill or sadly because they have died. This man has an absolute cheek to ask for a reduction or free transport from Westway, despite having their grant slashed they continue to provide the same high quality service. Instead of coating this Borough with unnecessary Prisoner of Conscience hewn stone from China and all the other nonsense this corrupt council gets up to it would suit them better to fund organisations who are the beating heart of our community. But then they have no hearts just snouts to snort around to see whats in this for them, to hell with our community. But their days are numbered.

well said 20.23. Presumably Gupta Snr can afford to pay for his own transport to Scunthorpe. Perhaps he or Gupta Jnr or Ms Gupta from the PM's office would care to blog and tell us why they ordered the charity transport to the holiday destination

  8. Kensal Community Association is one of many 'Council-friendly' organisations that receive 'friendly' rates from the Council. I'm amazed Mr Clark of Property Services allows this to go on right under his nose.

The Kensal's only charitable activities seem to be selling booze all day at rock-bottom prices to the poor and needy (which Gupta can afford to do as it is Council-sponsored); cynical and just disgraceful, especially when local pubs are struggling.

    1. Wasp, I don't know about that, but when you consider how much Kensal CA is getting from the Council - huge premises for zilch - they could probably afford to give the booze away.

It is a total disgrace when they are in competition with commercial pubs and organisations like the Venture Centre that are really struggling, without a personal and political agenda!

  10. I agree I do not understand why the Council is supporting such a place, it seems to only offer cheap drink and nothing else for the local community. This also seems to be at odds with Mr Guptas own website supposedly promoting community spirit, matchmaking, investing your savings in India and eating well! It also states that we apparently neglect our elderly people!

The council have no problem harassing and terrifying the real voluntary sector who actually do work for the community are the heart and soul of Kensington and Chelsea and who are too terrified to put their heads up above the parpapet in case they loose their funding. The destruction of support for vulnerable people is happening right now.

And here is the India Welfare Society's income and expenditure (income first, then expenditure). So how does this fine fellow make a living exactly?
