BINNING RUBBISH BINS

A ROTTEN BOROUGH STREET SCENE
According  to the Standard Rotten Borough residents should prepare for rats & rotting rubbish in our streets......
Rubbish bins

Using 'decluttering' as a pretext the intention is to remove any facility for residents, workers and tourists to get rid of their rubbish.

The comments in the Standard demonstrate what a ludicrous and impractical idea this is.

The Council is too dishonest to admit it just does not want to pay for this very basic service, even though it can splurge £27 million on the ludicrous Exhibitionist Rd now costing £250k a year to keep clean!

As one comment suggested....watch out for rats in K&C!

"There 's a theory that if there are no litter bins, there 's no litter. Civilised people don 't drop litter, so look for alternatives such as taking it home. That 's the theory.

In areas such as Cllr Moylan 's Ken High Street, litter bins have already been removed. Contentious citizens ask shopkeepers to take their waste. The retailer becomes responsible for the cost of disposal. RBKC retailers are already burdened with exceptionally high overheads.

Less civilised folk drop their litter in the nearest corner or alley. Rubbish piles become semi-permanent, attracting vermin and flies etc. It 's also ugly, smells and is blown into neighbouring properties.

The Council will create higher levels of fly tipping, to be cleared at council tax payers ' expense. It 's also an environmental offence. RBKC will doubtless recoup some of it 's additional costs by fining those unable to dispose of their litter legally. Genius."
