THE MASTER |
AND HIS BOY |
From abuse of the Mayor's spanking new Bentley to luxury stays at US 5 star hotels it's all here.
It's shocking in its excess.
The Sunday Telegraph's Doctor Heffer(a dear friend of the Dame) wrote a particularly cutting piece about the expense licentiousness of Sir Pooter.
So angry was Sir Pooter that he called the good Doctor Heffer at lunchtime that Sunday, in full fury.
A unamused Heffer reprimanded Pooter, "Pooter, how dare you disturb me. Call me in office hours"
LINK read of the time Andrew Pierce, another dear friend of La Dame awarded Sir Pooter a gold star for imaginative expense accounting.
LINK and another when the Telegraph exposed the old rogue!
LINK and here's one where Pooter commanded dear old ex cllr Tony Holt to defend him.
Thank you Dame. I forgotten what a complete shit this guy is. Took Council Tax payers from the Royal Borough for a huge ride.
ReplyDeleteIt is just unbelievable what went on for so many years and the Tory Councillors turned a blind eye
ReplyDeleteBlind eye, dear? NO way. They were all aware of the going on and would not be surprised if many of them benefited from it - directly or indirectly, if you know what I mean. In short, they are ALL guilty, simply by 'association; - there are NO innocent bystanders.
DeleteThe Brown Envelope Brigade .
ReplyDeleteNot an army person, but is Battalion larger than a Brigade? If yes, than that would be more appropriate a tag to use..
DeleteBrigade is bigger, but Division is even larger.
DeleteBrown Envelope Division doesn't have the same ring.
Sir Pooter dear and Dell Boy Meyers may be at the apex of the money grabbing lot, but they were far from the lone wolves...it is enough to only consider the members of the Planning Committee, how much have they made from developers in gratitude for pushing through the approvals...Investigate the lot, I say.
ReplyDeleteThe true significance of Pooters cheating and stealing is that it gave every single employee and Councillor the right to think: "If he can do it, so can I".
ReplyDeletePooter's abuse became so blatant that he was using the Mayor's Bentley to ferry himself to and from Heathrow for his foreign jollies. The drivers were appalled and shocked by this behaviour.
'every single employee'...no it didn't! It may have helped foster pretty lax management though; euphemistically described as 'light touch'
DeleteWhen a Leader like Cllr Cockell contaminates the culture of an organisation like Hornton Street it is a poison that lives on long after the perpetrator has left. Unfortunately, it may be that a spell of Labour is the only way to clear out the Conservative fold and let in some fresh blood, fresh thinking and fresh values. Grenfell has demonstrated just how out of touch two Tory administrations are with the real people of the Borough.
ReplyDeleteHere here. I went to a Grenfell meeting to hear the cut glass accents on one side of the table talking down to the peasants on the other side of the table. They have not got the first clue.
DeleteThe peasants or the cut glass?
DeleteDoes anyone know the exact date timeline of Cockell's tenure?
ReplyDeleteCouncillor from 1986 to 2013 (27 years) and Leader from 2000 to 2013 (13 years)
ReplyDeleteTHIRTEEN YEARS LEADER OF RBKC - A TOTAL OF TWENTY SEVEN YEARS RBKC COUNCILLOR - NOT LISTED ON LINKEDIN PROFILE - WHY?
ReplyDeleteThank you, just wondering about the months Sir Pooter came in and went out, which can make a difference of a many months to his tenure.
Wondering if Sir Pooter started as leader at the beginning of the 2000 and left at the end of 2013? We are trying to understand what he presided over.
That is a very long time to just rip it up and start again, perhaps he thinks if its not in writing it didn't happen.

Sir Merrick Cockell
Executive Chairman
Biography extract
A councillor from 1986 until May 2015, Sir Merrick served as Leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea from 2000 until 2013. During his time as Leader, the Council established itself as a top performer under various inspection regimes and received excellent feedback in resident satisfaction surveys. He was a key architect in the formation of “Tri Borough”, a revolutionary forerunner of Combined Authorities delivering integrated public services between the three London Boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham.
Ha ha
DeleteResidents objected to RBKC's accounts over the illegal misuse of public funds. At that time RBKC's district auditor worked for the Audit Commission. Rather than address the issue or residents, the district auditor spent months evading both. After several months he retired. The Audit Commission promptly awarded RBKC yet another 5 star report. Cockell received his knighthood and the incoming Conservative government abolished the Audit Commission. Mission accomplished!
DeleteIf you really wanted the Council accounts to be scrutinized, we need to start a protest and withhold from paying council tax until questions are answered. If something isn't adding up, you are entitled to ask and be shown the breakdown on which money goes to exactly where. Some of the money goes to EU, not to the locals I bet. People are doing this up and down the country.
DeleteJust a thought: are any of the estate agents likely to be spoken to under caution? Should be interesting to find out what private arrangements exist/ed between the developer - estate agent - Councillors.
ReplyDeleteWell said, but do not forget planning officers. Certain key persons have been in post for decades.
ReplyDeleteHow did disgraced ex councillor Phelps go from genteel poverty to banking at Coutts and buying flats for his partner and children as well as a much grander abode for himself?
