Fighting for all of us!
Loyal Hornets will remember the sheer hell of getting Cockell to give up his massive allowance and hand over the leadership.
The Dame campaigned ruthlessly to expose his ways: she is proud of her role ridding K&C of this greedy man.
We now have a similar problem with Elizabeth Campbell.
She promised that she would step down but has now changed her mind.
She claims she has to stay to defend Conservative values and her decision has nothing to do with hanging on in the hope of a peerage!
Her involvement in the Grenfell tragedy precludes that.
Would those commenting refrain from being rude about the highly principled lady......
Her decision is quite wrong: there are better members of the leadership team than this uninspiring lady. In her tenure staffing levels have shot up and there is a systemic issue of management.
The Dame hears the admin offices in Hornet Street are dark and eerily quiet as staff continue to 'work' (used advisedly) from home.
No private company would ever allow this shambolic situation to exist. It should be noted that over 2000 extra staff have been recruited in the last couple of years. Small wonder council tax is so high.
Campbell should quit now.
It's high time Campbell (and other yesterday's men and women with 'baggage' from the bad old days of Cockell, etc for that matter)
ReplyDeleteall stepped down. It definitely doesn't help restore residents faith and trust in the council when the same faces are still running the show, plus there are plenty of capaable and more trusted others able to take over. Sof McVeigh for a start.
Campbell's ego is standing in the way of progress and change.
But these days when her political side is in need or a boost and there are more than a few others waiting in line, maybe some of them will eventually lose patience, read the room and find it in them to give Campbell the push?
Excellent comment 10:55 and yes there are good. replacements standing by including McVeigh but also Cem, Johnny and others. Campbell does great damage by hanging on. It is not as if she is short of income
ReplyDeleteThis is a vicious attack on Elizabeth who is a dear friend of mine. Time the proles who read this vile blog shut the fuck up
ReplyDeleteMrs Campbell doesn’t need foul mouthed friends like you.
DeleteCampbell is as delusional as Dent Coad.
ReplyDeleteDent Coad thought she had the last word on what is, and what is not, socialist. Campbell is not the sole arbiter of Conservative values
Will it end in tears for Dizzy Lizzie just like it did for EDC?
DeleteDizzy Lizzie never came up to the expectations of this Tory Boy.

DeleteCampbell has a lot to thank EDC & her ex KLP pals for.
The silly and useless committee boycott protest first then the deselecting good effective councillors to replace with weak ones or complete loose cannons. The lack of oppostion has given Lizzy the easiest ride possible because her questionable decisions have escaped basic scrutiny & public calling out thanks to these two factors.
"The silly useless committee boycott protest?"
DeleteDon't remember that, what was all that about?
K&C Council has been very unlucky in recent years. We have had two self-serving, egocentric, women at the helm. Dizzy as Leader of the Council and EDC as Leader of the Opposition. It doesn't say much for either the Tory Party or the Labour Party that we ended up with this pair.
DeleteDizzy and EDC both cut their political teeth on that disastrous Housing Board.
I'll say this much for Lizzie. She did not parade around Holland Park and Kensington Gardens arm in arm with Rishi Sunak to shore up votes. Emma paraded Corbyn around Grenfell hoping to garner votes. Voters were unimpressed with this strategy - she lost her deposit.
Delete09.42. The "Housing Board" you are on about was the Tenant Management Organisation. Yes, DL and EDC were both on it. They were both careful not to upset the Tory "Cockell" applecart. Both of them thought the TMO was a "good thing" and said so. Both of them saw 2,000 Council flat tenants rise up and revolt against the intolerable TMO in 2008 at a meeting in the Town Hall.
DeleteDL and EDC both went on supporting the TMO. Shame be on them.
After Grenfell, EDC was challenged about being a Director of the TMO by Vanessa Feltz on BBC. Emma said, "There was nothing an opposition councillor could do about it."
Being wise after the Grenfell fire was the best she could do.

DeleteThe committee boycott was the Mason & Dent Coad Labour councillors group refusing to serve on council committees in response to RBKC axing the Grenfell scrutiny committee ages ago.
Thanks, 15.05, 09.42 here again.
DeleteI remember that pathetic gesture from the EDC camp now that you explain it. I suppose like everything she did it achieved nothing of any useful significance; apart from the fuss of publicity.
How daft of Dent Coad and Mason! Opposition Councillors throwing their toys out of the pram and refusing to engage. I bet the Tories on the Council loved that. Did EDC clear the protest/ boycott with Jeremy Corbyn?
Delete15.05. Do you know remember how long the Dent Coad - Mason boycott lasted?
Dizzy Lizzie is a classy lady. She exudes classiness. No one has complained that she resorts to racism unlike the royal, racist, socialist.
DeleteEDC made the TMO change the term "Chairman" to replace it with "Chair." A chair is something someone sits on and no one sits on me.
DeleteDizzy Lizzy wasn't that daft.
Student Union Trots at North London Poly were always boycotting lectures and classes. The 1985 boycott at the Prince of Wales Road campus in Kentish Town was a big issue. SU Trots discovered that a National Front student was studying there. They did not get what they wanted. The NF student was not expelled.
DeleteDid Labour Councillors get what they wanted from K&C Tory Councillors?
The "lethal left" love to control people including their use of language. It is an absurdity to suggest that the "Chairman of a Company" or the "Chairman of a Meeting" becomes a "Chair." The real intention of the lethal left in pursuing this agenda is to inhibit people from expressing themselves - especially people who do not agree with hard left dictate and express contrary views. Intellectualising language through eliminating any hint of gender is a slippery slope.
DeleteA Trot once told me that instead of referring to a woman as a barmaid and a man as barman, I should use the term "Purveyor of Alcohol." The Trot did not silence me.
“Highly adequate” has to be the ultimate in damning with faint praise.
ReplyDeleteThe term "highly principled" has more than a touch of irony about it when it is considered by a privileged audience. God loves Lizzie - warts and all.
DeleteOrchestrating Labour Councillors to boycott taking their seats on Council Committees and, changing the nomenclature at the KCTMO by calling the "Chairman of the Board" "a Chair" shows just how well considered EDC really is in her actions.
DeleteThe Grenfell Report is out in September. Emma Dent Coad will want to have her say. I don't know why because she is not a Councillor in Notting Dale ward. Notting Dale councillors represent Grenfell Tower and Joe Powell MP is now parliamentary one.
DeleteLet us not forget that with all that was monumentally wrong at the TMO, Emma changed the label attached to its Chairman.
I would like to say what Lizzie did whilst she on the TMO Board but for the life of me, nothing comes to mind.
The "Chair" and "Chairman" thing was top of the Corbynista's list. Glad she did not get in. She would have been a disaster.
DeleteDo not understand the abbreviation M******* R******* ******. Please explain?
ReplyDeleteCould be actionable
DeleteIt is wrong that Cllr Campbell can dictate her tenure. It discourages the next generation and leads to a dictatorial style of leadership. The tragedy of Grenfell allowed Cllr Campbell to get a foot in the door and it is now time the younger generation of leaders be given a chance to steer the ship and allow Campbell to go back to her boating.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Campbell and Emma Dent Coad could have both made a big difference at the TMO, but.......they didn't. Why?
ReplyDeleteNow that the Grenfell report is due out, it is important that we know about EC & EDC and their work in Council housing.
