Felicity Buchan believes Liz Truss has the character to lead this country.
She highlights honesty as a Truss attribute.
The Dame is not judgmental but in examining Truss's past honesty doesn't spring to mind.
The common criticism of the woman is that like Boris Johnson detail is not her forte. If she really thought posturing on a tank 'channeled' Thatcher one can only think she has judgment issues.
With Truss in charge expect more blundering a la Boris.
We enter dangerous territory. Brains, not bluster should drive decision-making: that is why Sunak is the clear and mature choice.
In the land of the blind the one eyed woman is queen applies here. What a abysmal set of potential leaders.
ReplyDeleteAt least, Sunak, has done something with his life
It is a shame that Felicity Buchan doesn't bother answering correspondence from constituents. I wrote to her via email on 19th July and crickets (31st July, not even an auto response). What is the point of her being an MP if she doesn't bother to answer? I've also tried her via Facebok, but that got nothing but an automated response.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day this is a mess of Johnson's making. Truss is carpet bagging on a larger scale than Campbell's rush back from her America's Cup sabbatical to claim the disgraced crown of hapless Paget-Brown
ReplyDeleteTruss's manner in recent days suggests that she has decided that she is already the winner. Sunak's peer group (the Tory MPs) gave him a clear endorsement, way ahead of Truss, but a core of big names are now endorsing Truss in pursuit of Office or revenge on Sunak for loss of Office. And for the next deciding vote, the Tory activists, an Indian Prime Minister is a deep dive.
So like Campbell, Carpet bagger Truss has judged her opportunity well. But is this good for our Country? The answer is a resounding NO.
Observer is on the button. We have seen the disaster that has set in for the Royal Borough following the unfortunate election if Elizabeth Campbell to the Tory Leadership. Her hoplessness has resulted in an almost total failure of Public Administration and drift to socialism in th hands of out of control and inappropriate officers
DeleteWe will all find ourselves drowning
ReplyDeleteSunak has declared war on the WOKES. He gets my vote.

I don't always agree with Hands. Indeed I don’t usually agree with him. But on this occasion he's bang on.
Too bad that it's another lost cause. Just ljke Hunt, Fox and Bailey.
That Campbell supports Sunak scuppers him for me.
ReplyDeleteLiz Truss for PM. It is as ludicrous as Emma Dent Coad being the Convenor of RBKC's Labour Group.

DeleteOh do keep up !EDC is not conveynor of Kensington Labour . God help us she is back as leader of the opposition & has her eyes on running as the Labour candidate at the next Gen Election. Meanwhile the Labour Councillors seem to be doing little to provide an opposition to Campbell's Tories . All that EDC demands of them is unquestioned loyalty in return for responsibility allowances which none of them seem to do anything to justify
ReplyDeleteEmma Dent Coad is a disgusting opportunist. She demands loyalty. She wants her acolytes, Lari, Ali et al, to kiss her arse in Harrods' window at High Noon. She is the Labour party's version of LIz Truss MP.
ReplyDeleteDent Coad was neither use nor ornament as an Opposition Councillor prior to Grenfell. She would have us all believe that, although she was on all these Housing Committees at the Council, she had nothing to do with anything connected to the refurbishment of Grenfell Tower. Sam Gymiah disagreed and she reported him to the police. He was not done for what he said. If what Dent Coad says is true, she must have been in a political vacuum or a parallel universe in the run up to Grenfell's refurbishment. As an ultra-left winger, she ought to have been involved in the decisions over Grefell Tower's refurbishment especially as she was in the thick of Housing debate at the Council.
Francis O'Connor and Eddie Dafarn of the Grenfell Action Group, were fighting the Council's proposals for Grenfell Tower's refurbishment and according this Dent Coad she did noting to help them to oppose Tory penny pinching. Emma Dent Coad and Liz Truss are both disastrous politicians.
