It has now become a tradition for smart RBK&C to select socialist chief executives. (Quirk was one)
We have to call them chief executives, not Town Clerks to justify their mega salaries and pretend they might be headhunted by the private sector(as if!) if we don't.
Anyway, Campbell has got very excited about having recruited Maxine Holdsworth on what will be a £300,000 a year package!
Holdsworth comes from Islington where the Council has been slammed for allowing pedophiles to run its children's homes.
Islington has a dreadful reputation so why recruit from an extreme Left Wing council?
Jeremy Corbyn, MP for Islington North will be thrilled one of his acolytes has infiltrated a bastion of Toryism!
What a silly post . My contacts tell me that our new chief executive is widely admired & that we are lucky to grab them . Only time will tell but it is ridiculous to damn someone because they have previously worked for a local authority of a different colour . In fact the times when RBKC have got it wrong are when they took notice of where senior officers came from ( eg Nicolas Holgate was not exactly a great success was he ? & what about that dreadful woman taken on to run education who went on to wreck Holland Park. Not to mention the senior planning officer who came from the Planning inspectorate and wiped out any independent thought in the borough's Planning department . RBKC's new chief executive comes with glowing references . Give her a chance
ReplyDeleteI hope that 22.06 is right. Dizzy has a very poor track record with Cabinet and senior staff appointments. She likes poodles. We will have to wait and see
DeleteYour contacts!! Hahahahaha...and what are her glowing references? From her left wing colleagues. The woman is a left wing socialist. Check it out.
DeleteMaxine was Director of Homes and Neighborhoods at Islington Council. She worked temporarily in K&C to help with the Grenfell recovery. Lets hope she can rise to the bigger picture of Public Administration across the the whole raft of activities in local Government - and not just be a Grenfell functionary which would be boring and misguided.
ReplyDeleteCouncillors need to press for a return to Conservative values in the Borough (low tax and minimal Government) , a return to work by Officers (too many of whom are still slacking at home), reduce the bloated head count, and start making policy instead of constantly asking residents "what do you want us to do?". The job of Government is to Govern.
As the Dame has long advocated, the first important step is to get rid of dizzy. She is a disaster and a misfit.
Most senior officers are working from their Home County homes yet continuing to claim their London weighting. Senior directors are indulged, overpaid and often unfit for purpose. Don't expect a CEO from a socialist council to crack the whip and make them return to work
ReplyDeleteWere any of the Labour Councillors involved in the selection of the new CE & if so did they support the choice made ? Would Dent Coad recognise the qualities required of leadership anyway ?
ReplyDeleteThis appointment underlines the Grenfell fixation of birdbrain dizzy. There is more to the Royal Borough than Grenfell. Much more. But birdbrain dizzy is playing to the gallery. She does not understand the words "balance" and "Conservative". And in the process she is doing huge damage to local Government in RBKC.
ReplyDeleteHigh time for the Tory Councillors to get rid of the Campbell menace.
Time to swot Fly on the Wall
DeleteFly on the Wall speaks more sense in a nano second than 08:29 could muster in an hour
DeleteThe only fixation that RBKC has with Grenfell is that of brushing it under the carpet and wasting public resources on Quirk's layers of unnacountable expensive corporatism and pointless PR and box ticking exercises as in "make it look as if you're doing something when very clearly you are not". With Barry's protégé taking over, with Dizzy Lizzy still council leader and with scrutiny reduced to a threadbare minimum, all the public will get is simply more of the same .
ReplyDeleteSpot on....more of more!
