What a shame the Council is being so utterly insensitive to this amazing local charity for 'have not's'.

Come on Cllr Campbell....sort this ridiculous situation out now otherwise your words about working with the community will be just WORDS!

    Cllr Campbell just does not get it. A waste of time trying to lecture her. She needs to go. Tory Councillors need to throw her out before residents throw them out.....

    North Kensington has two of the poorest wards in Europe. RBKC's response to deprivation has always been to seek to strip the area of its meagre public services and assets.

    There was the fight over the, publicly funded, 19th century N. Kensington Library. RBKC declared it unsafe due to it's steep, stone stairs. The property was promptly leased to a private infants school. Apparently rich kids don't fall down stairs! There was absolute furore. RBKC had one of its routine Damascene moments and returned the library to the community.

    Again, for decades North Kensington's F.E. College gave thousands of low income people the opportunity to gain a career. The college sat on a good deal of land. So RBKC decided it was no longer needed. Students could go to say: Ealing to study. So they flogged it off to an - Ealing - private company. Need one say more? There was little short of civil rebellion and RBKC backed down.

    Why should low income residents repeatedly have to fight RBKC to protect their facilities? Who in Hornton Street benefits?

    Currently, North Kensington residents have suffered grievously from Covid. They are packed into overcrowded, poorly maintained housing, while RBKC seeks to deprive them of yet another community asset. RBKC never learns; never changes.
