DOWDEN SPEAKS BALLS

So said the Dame's old friend, Mr Wilde.

Oliver Dowden, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport is fuming. He says, "I will do whatever it takes to stop the dastardly plan of the European Super League"

This strange man says, "I will withhold work permits and remove policing from grounds."

And, to curry favour with Labour voters says he will initiate a 'fan led' review into UK football!

This is a heaven-sent opportunity for the Government to distract the masses from the alienation of their basic liberties and pretend to be footie mad....so embarrassing.

Still, this could be the moment for our £170k a year Council PR man, Price-Thompson to jump on the bandwagon with a 'statement' supporting football fans.....

Maybe, we can expect a statement from Doc Quirk?

It sounds like Dowden and Johnson are playing to the populist gallery by trying to ingratiate themselves with footie fans. Funny, I thought Conservatives approved of the loads of money culture. Jacob Rees Mogg would normally describe this sort of practice as "enterprising."

There is nothing more amusing for me to wear my Chelsea strip and get down and dirty amongst the workers.I feel a frisson of excitement as I sit amongst lots of smelly working class types yelling and screaming. Up the Fans!

As a keen Fulham FC ticket holder I and my lady wife are hugely saddened at this betrayal of the workers.

  5. Conservatives invoking "Competition Rules" to advance their argument beggars belief. Right wing Libertarians, (Rees Mogg, Baker, Duncan Smith, Brady, Davis, Harper et al) believe that legislation impedes free market operations. For them, unfettered free markets (free trade, deregulation of markets and less social protection) is inherently good and socially beneficial. Never thought I would live to see the day when a Tory would advocate introducing legislation to stop a money making enterprise that is legal. As Hobbes said in 1651, Where the law is silent there is liberty.
