Dear Dame whoever you might be,
I doubt this will see the light of day
You have devoted several blogs in a vicious attack on the probity of our Conservative MEP, Charles Tannock.
In fact, were I the MEP I would sue you for defamation.
Many of your readers are pondering upon why you never attack Emma Dent Coad, one of the most useless and partisan of MP's.
It seems that apart from comments she is left alone.
Why should she be?
She's an 'I'm alright, Jill' type who despite her £85,000 a year salary lives in chic social housing costing the thick end of £1.3m and who has managed to get all her children educated at exclusive £35,000 a year Christ's Hospital....but then only the best for the Spanish aristocracy!
As Ancient As Eton |
In the light of her new salary has she offered the Housing Association a market rent to reflect her new wealth?
Let me give my view for what it is worth......
Emma Dent Coad is on the wing of a movement which wishes to introduce taxes so punitive that ordinary Londoners who bought their homes in a period of low house/flat price inflation will now have to find around £20,000 a year to remain in their homes....YES, John McDonnell is proposing a 1% annual tax on any house or flat worth £2 million or above.
This tax will cut a swathe through thousands of her constituents who bought their homes years ago and whose incomes will never be able to support such a tax.
They will be forced to sell into a depressed market just to satiate the vindictiveness of Dent Coad and her friends.
So, Dame 'whoever you might be' I challenge you to get off the hedge and recognise rank hypocrisy when it stares you in the face!
Regards,
Anon
Can this be right? I bought my flat years ago and was landed with a heavy mortgage to do so unlike Lady La di Da Dent Coad. So, because of my hard work and prudence I am going to have find £20k a year? Disgusting, greedy, envious Labour bastards. Iam a remainer but will vote for the Brexit Party
ReplyDeleteDear Anon,
ReplyDeleteI am astounded that you have the effrontery to accuse The Dame of not publishing negative comments about Emma Dent Coad MP. The Dame, as everyone knows, is not partisan. She is politically unbiased. I think those politicians exposed on The Hornet often feel a little raw and turn themselves in to victims when they are shown up in public - just like you appear to be doing in making this unjustified complaint.
All politicians, Labour, Tory, and Lib Dems come in for criticism on The Hornet. If you paid more thorough attention to The Hornet, you would realise that Emma Dent Coad MP has not been immune from constructive criticism from The Dame.
I do not understand your comments about Emma Dent Coad MP living in social housing. As far as I know she lives in a part-rent, part-buy flat where she owns a percentage interest in the property with the remaining share owned by a Housing Association landlord. There is a complex rent setting framework contained in these part-rent, part-buy legal agreements which sets the level of rent that the Housing Association is permitted to charge the occupier to cover the percentage share of the property owned by the Housing Association. Unlike Council tenants and housing association tenants part-rent part-buy householders are responsible for paying for all of the repairs required to the dwelling including the total cost of any major works carried out by the landlord. By contrast, social housing tenants get their repairs carried out by the landlord and do not have to foot expensive major works' bills.
Dear Dame Hornet,
DeleteIf it were not of you, people would not have had a platform to highlight the hypocrisy, racism and classism of EDC.
The Bent Toad, is or was one the editors of the Hornet
ReplyDeleteIt always seems as if Dent Coad's critics are the ones who know the least about her.
ReplyDeleteIf Anon conducted further research, he would discover that our MP campaigned vigorously against the proposed Mansion Tax when it was previously on the agenda.
I can only presume he must be jealous that he hasn't yet received an invite to her "chic" apartment.
SouthKen Lurker is right. Dent Coad did campaign against Miliband's Mansion Tax. Since she got in to parliament, she has bent over backwards to ingratiate herself with Corbyn and others on the marxist left. She is unlikely to rebel against her party if Corbyn wants a new type of Mansion Tax. She is known to be a crawler.
DeleteI bet the South Ken Lurker is really Emma Dent Coad writing.
ReplyDeleteI think SouthKen Lurker is in reality Dent Coad. Only she would bother going on here at one in the morning to make the point that she opposed the Mansion Tax.She knows she would lose her Kensington parliamentary seat if Corbyn implements a tax on high value properties.
DeleteThis is all very disturbing. a 1% property tax would cause personal devastation to a large number of gentlefolk in Kensington and Chelsea.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of a Mansion Tax killed Labour once before and will do so again. Cllr Dent Coade opposed before (even though she was going against Labour Party Policy)and she needs to be reminded that as the sitting MP for Kensington that she should oppose the tax again. After all, she hangs on a wafer thin majority of 20 votes.
ReplyDelete"The Dame takes it on the chin". A hoot. Not much chin left.
ReplyDeleteTop Cat. South Ken Lurker is Emma Dent Coad M.P
ReplyDeleteI always know when Dent Coad has commented on the Hornet. She knows that the traditional working class voter in the north of the Borough has lost confidence in her (and is likely to vote Lib Dem at the next General Election):-
(i) because she perpetuates the class system by insisting that she is better because she is of a much higher class compared to anyone else.
(ii) Labour voters do not like being patronised when (ii) she tells people to send their kids to state schools. She has sent her kids to one of most exclusive and expensive schools in the Country. What a hypocrite!
Therefore, she is now trying to get in with traditional Tory Voters who own high value properties by setting her stall out to oppose any sort of Mansion Tax.
Great summing up
DeleteWhy do RBKC residents have to suffer the shame and embarrassment of EDC - go and do it somewhere else - PLEASE!
ReplyDeleteDear Dame,
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that "you are taking it on the chin" like any woman of your class and breeding would.
I do hope that neither you, nor the wealthy property owners of Kensington, have been taken in by
Emma Dent-Coad MP. Mrs Dent-Coad knows that she cannot rely on loyal Labour voters to get re-elected in Kensington. Therefore, she will shout loudly from the roof tops to oppose Corbyn's Mansion Tax. By doing so, she hopes to pick up votes from Tory voters who are disillusioned with the Tory party. Mrs Dent-Coad does not let any of us ever forget that she is a very high class aristocrat. She enjoys the status that comes with her aristocratic roots but she lacks the wealth that many of the wealthy property owners in Kensington have amassed through hard work and enterprise. I suspect that she would get quite a kick from the wealthy being deprived of money through Corbyn's Mansion Tax although she would never admit this in public.
She wants to take from the rich to give to the poor. Don't be conned by her. That is what socialism is- sentimental clap trap.
ReplyDeleteI hope all good bloggers will be campaigning against Emma Dent Coad MP when the next General Election is called.
DeleteWill Emma Dent Coad MP tell us her plans for resigning her parliamentary seat. She seldom debates in the Commons' chamber and is seldom there listening to debates. Time to make room for someone else.
DeleteA "vacancy" on the green leather benches.
DeleteThey Work For You describes Emma Dent Coad's performance as BELOW AVERAGE in many areas.
