"We hugely appreciated the support of our many regular patrons and supporters in successfully appealing against a redevelopment proposal that would have threatened the future of the Finborough Theatre.
McPHERSON |
The intensification of residential use above the theatre will lead to noise and vibration disturbing performances.
Also, noise from the theatre, affecting the flats above, could lead to residents seeking Noise Abatement Orders: yet another threat to the theatre's future.
There are many examples where theatres have had to close or restrict their operations to overcome such problems.
There will also be the impact of the construction work on the theatre’s performance schedule for which no plan is proposed, as well as grave risk to the structural integrity of the building.

ReplyDeleteDear Dame
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on?
The Dame seems to be under some sort of attack
DeleteNothing that is good and valuable in the borough is safe anymore. If the government is now serious about revealing all that is registered in the British Virgin Islands, will someone – the Dame or an investigative journalist of her ken – be looking at the property trust of an individual, formerly with huge planning powers in K&C, who went from being as poor as a church mouse to wearing Savile Row suits, opening a bank account at Coutts, giving his flat to his son, buying a much grander London home for himself and gifting a newly purchased country cottage to his partner?
ReplyDeleteInteresting... Perhaps one of the regular readers will prompt a review or call the SFO?
DeleteWho could it be?
DeleteMaybe they could do a play about it.
DeleteWhat would it be called.
DeleteBarbarians at the gate (or up town hall)
DeleteFiddlers on the roof!
DeleteA night at the opera .
DeleteTheres no where else to go.
The sting!
DeleteDon't look now.
DeleteIs the Holland Park Opera under same threat? If not, IT SHOULD BE..bulldoze it...
