I am bloody angry.
RBK&C leadership at the time of Grenfell will shortly be coming under close scrutiny.
They were Cllr Campbell and Cllr Weale.
Sensing that she might come under fire Weale has stepped down.
That leaves Campbell. Rather than stepping down Campbell has foisted herself on London Councils Executive as member for Business, Economy and Culture
Her lackey, Cllr Thalasittes tweets his congrats!
We all remember Cllr Campbell claiming the now ill fated Holland Park Academy cost nothing 'because we sold the land adjacent to a developer'
It never crossed the foolish lady's mind that the taxpayers still paid for it with the sale of their assets.
But, the real point is this.
Campbell may not have Grenfell blood on her hands but she did hold the levers of power at the time of the fire. She is the last link to this tragedy. The sooner she goes the better.

So, Campbell knew that Business, Economy and Culture was coming up on London Councils and smoothed the way by shunting Faulks to one side...nice one!

Cllr Campbell has inflicted huge and long lasting damage to the Town Hall organisation because she is out of her depth, does not understand Leadership, and is intellectually challenged. A disaster for Public Administration and a destruction of Tory philosophy. Small Government and low taxes is not what dizzy is about.

ReplyDeleteAdmitting council culpability yet making no mention that she was a Cabinet member. In the 5 years since the tragedy she has drawn close to £365,0000 in allowances. She is a rich woman. The very least she could have done if she was not going to resign was to have cut back her allowance. She is a woman with no soul and no brain

DeleteThe comments above ignore the reality that Campbell is secure in her position. The Conservative Councillors gossip in private about her shortcomings but every year they continue to vote that she should continue in Office. She is so confident of her position that she openly mocked the Labour opposition after the recent local election and continues on her quest to secure a Peerage.
