The Kensington Society, like the Chelsea Society, plays an important role in civic life.
Last night was the Annual General Meeting. Tout Kensington and Chelsea turn up to hear what has been achieved in the year.
So was it true there was a NO SHOW of Conservative councillors?
We know that Emma Dent Coad dictates to her lot what they can and cannot do but has Cllr Campbell picked up these autocratic ways too?
Chair Amanda Frame must be fuming about the public slight. But dizzy is not nearly grand enough for Frame to be really put out. If it had been HRH Andrew, that would have been a different story.....
ReplyDeleteAmazing that Amanda Frame is still hanging in there
DeleteRBKC Tories under dizzy have turned inwards towards themselves and personal self interest. Institutions like the Kensington Society are being neglected and core Conservative principles like low tax and small Government have been abandoned. Too many Tory Councillors are self indulging and Officers are drifting with Socialist policies masterminded by B Quirk from Lewisham.
ReplyDeleteDizzy needs to be dumped
DeleteYesterday was the 5th anniversary of the Grenfell fire. Perhaps councillors understood that it was therefore appropriate for Councillors to keep a low profile ?
DeleteI don't think that could be a valid reason. A gathering like this was a community event and an an opportunity to get feedback. Linda Wade and her group turned up. Another negation of your theory is that the Mayor gave a post AGM reception
DeleteYes, as I understand it Conservative councillors stayed away because of Grenfell, and the Mayor was not going to wear the chain of office at the reception and only stay for a short time.
DeleteThe AGM is usually held at the Town Hall. There is usually a Mayor's reception afterwards. Its a regular diary event. It all happens on autopilot. It's just that the staff were not told that dizzy has instructed the Councillors to stop wasting time at the Kensington Society. And of course the poodles know which side the bread is buttered.
ReplyDeleteNotice once the elections are over, they do not care about us. Get an organised campaign to stand against the tories in target seats, under a banner of residents association.
ReplyDeleteHow would a Residents Association manifesto differ from that which is offered by the current parties ? ( l did notice that the recent Tory literature banged on about retaining twice weekly bin collection and a single residents parking zone but failed to make clear who was threatening to remove them )
