Residents of North Kensington should be grateful to THIS IS NORTH KENSINGTON for standing behind residents damaged by feckless Thames Water and its 'Leadership Team'...(a real misnomer!)

Meet 'Morbidly Fat Cat' Ian Marchant (pictured above). Mr Marchant is Chair of Thames Water and gets paid £325,000 for a two day week. Alright for some….

No doubt he has never had to undergo the ordeal of being knee-deep in water and sewage in his home or business. His prize possessions will be secure and insured to the hilt, unlike many residents and businesses in and around our area (some of whom on top of their ordeal, are facing real hardship) after the flash floods two weeks ago.

Fat Cat Marchant has only been photoshopped by us in North Kensington, and we think he should pay our area a visit and talk to residents whose homes were badly flooded here. He certainly needs a reality check….

The rumours abound that the insurance companies intend to pursue Thames Water for massive compensation. It is also heard a leading lawyer is planning a class action over negligence.

A Hornet reader reminds us that Thames Water has known of the issues years ago. 

Its failure to deal with the engineering issues has led to misery and huge financial loss for us residents. A retired CEO gives his take on their gutlessness.

Thames Water is a disgrace. 

It cares only for making profits for its Chinese and Arab owners.

Everything wrong with this country's senior management is manifested by this couple and their refusal to face the music.

Well done, Felicity for so speedily organising this. 

The Dame cannot pay the same compliment to Thames Water. The lives of thousands were affected by this flooding yet Thames Water produces just mid-managers to face residents. The chairman and Sarah Bentley should be facing residents not skulking behind their underlings. This flood will cost billions. Even now the Dame hears that an eminent lawyer is planning a class action and the insurers are looking at their options. It is outrageous that the chairman and the CEO have so disdainfully snubbed us residents.

THAMES WATER'S £400 MILLION PROFIT DRAINED OFF TO CHINA AND MIDDLE EAST

The Dame has just heard that one insurance company told a policyholder that it was relaxed about paying out as it intended to sue Thames Water. This is good news. The combined assets of the major insurers mean that they can really bash up the crooked and corrupt foreign owned Thames Water.

The picture above is of a mass of fat and other material allowed to build up by Thames Water. 

In pre privatisation days there were teams of workers preventing these buildups. 

In 2019 Thames Water spent just £18 million cleaning our sewers. In that same year, it made an operating profit of £513m

A Financial Times investigation revealed that Thames Water paid no corporation tax between 2011-15. 

They also lose 677.2 million litres of water per day through old and leaky pipes - more than any other water company! 

Oveseas shareholders benefited from this scandal to the tune of £392 million in profits between 2013-2017. 

In the main, those shareholders were from China and the Middle East. 

Profits that should have been retained to maintain a continuous programme of maintenance and upgrading are being syphoned off to foreign investors.

Thames Water is run not for the benefit of us consumers but foreign sovereign funds.

'Observer' has commented that Felicity Buchan is in her stride holding Thames Water to account. 

When the chairman of Thames Water presents to parliamentary committees he bamboozles members with incomprehensible stats. He may have met his match in Buchan who has a forensic grasp of corporate trickery.

BUCHAN DEMANDS ANSWERS FROM THAMES WATER

Our MP, Felicity Buchan is holding Thames Water's feet to the fire and allowing them no quarter.

The Dame has heard that she has been probing deeply into the catastrophic floods that have so benighted the lives of residents.

The Dame says the inquiry should not be 'in-house': it needs to have independent members like, for example, Amanda Frame of the Kensington Association and others like Marion Gettleson who have gone through this hell.

Buchan says, "Thames Water has agreed with me that they hold an inquiry into how they performed."

Fit & Proper or Fat and Greedy?

This is the chairman of Thames Water, Ian Marchant. 

Marchant was once boss of the trickster Perth-based power firm SSE fined £10m for extreme malpractice.

SSE customers were deliberately tricked into paying more for gas and electricity in a racket branded fraud by MPs. 

The question is how did Marchant, complicit in all this, continue his corporate rise?

Thames Water is a shoddily run company. 

It does as little as possible to invest in infrastructure. 

It cares little for its customers: it sees the customer as a mere milch cow. Its aim is to extract as much profit for Marchant and his board to pay themselves millions and their despotic and odious Chinese and Middle Eastern owners billions.

Thames Water has already started to distance itself from the horrific floods. 

The Dame hears that the insurance companies are looking to see what role Thames Water played in this catastrophe.

Felicity, we want you to pursue Thames Water like a Jack Russell after a pack of rats. 

Let's hope the insurance companies turn their guns on Marchant and his greedy board.

CONSERVATIVE ASSOCIATION KNIVES OUT

Dearest Dame, 

The Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham Conservative Association has a small problem. 

At the AGM a couple of weeks ago the new Committee was supposed to be elected (the normal shoo-in of uncontested positions) but outgoing Chairman Andrew Foster screwed up.

It had been “agreed” in a smoke-filled room that fellow Committee Member for Campaigning, Ross Allan, would become the new Chairman. 

But then the well-known and popular Cllr Sarah Addenbrooke (Abingdon Ward) put a spoke in the wheel by putting herself up for the Chairmanship, with a Proposer and Seconder-just as it should be. 

The boa feathers started to fly and Chairman Andrew Foster fluffed it. 

Accusations of “improper process” flew back and forth and Foster suspended the election and offered to spend a couple of months mediating between the two furious contestants. 

And he roped in the ex-MP, the avuncular Lord Mathew Carrington as an additional mediator. 

Instead of enforcing discipline and authority, something that Chairmen occasionally need to do, Foster played to his weakness and tried to be Mr “Nice Guy”.

What a farce.

NEXTDOOR READER, MR ROBERT GORDON, CLAIMS DOGS CAN POO IN THE STREETS

The Dame rarely reads Nextdoor whose members are exploited by US billionaires for their valuable personal data. 

However, an old friend sent her a comment from a strange and angry Robert Gordon of Kensington. 

Mr Gordon claims dogs are perfectly at liberty to defecate in the streets of K&C

Now the Dame knows that an ancient bylaw allows King Charles spaniels to enter restaurants but is there some other unknown bylaw that sustains Mr Gordon's bizarre belief? 

Could it be some Royal Perogative as a Royal Borough?

Can someone from K&C put bonkers Gordon right?

The Dame was horrified to know that her metal bits might well be recycled were she to be created at West London Crematorium, Kensal Green.

One of her concerned readers wrote warning her that with all her false bits may end up with these PEOPLE keen to make a few bob out of her.

Those living in basement flats have borne the brunt of the floods. 

Their lives and possessions have been wrecked by Thames Water owned by rapacious despotic investors like the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and China

 

Our basic needs are in the hands of grubby investors from countries you would not want your gap year daughter sending postcards from. 

How did this come to be and does it matter? 

Leaving aside the moral issue we need to understand that these investors are seeking sky-high returns at the expense of Londoners having to endure a rubbish service and toxic flooding.

There is a well-based rumour floating like scum on floodwater that Thames Water failed to turn on a vital sewage outlet pump.

If that is a sustainable accusation it might seem that a class action is in the making.

We are wasting billions on HS2 yet cannot sort out the drains!

PITIFUL PATEL AND BORIS 'CHURCHILL' JOHNSON DEFENDS OUR COAST

Down in Dungeness locals were astonished to see a stream of 'newcomers' exempt from any border controls sauntering past a nuclear power station and Derek Jarman's cottage. They seemed to have not a care in the world. INVASION 

It doesn't matter that this was filmed by Farage. 

What does matter is that this influx is happening on a daily basis as the people smugglers sneer at powerlessly pitiful Patel.

Ironically, the airport at Lydd is the base for a Portuguese company with a multi-million £ contract from Patel to operate drones over this stretch of the Channel: doesn't seem that they are having much success! 

All one can say is that with 'Churchill' Johnson and Pitiful Patel in charge during the last war the Germans would have had no problems dropping in.

The Dame once went to a moving citizen-making ceremony at the Town Hall.

A group of people from all over the world was there to be granted citizenship.

How angry they must feel that there is one rule for them and another for those who flaunt the rules.

Patel is possibly the worst Home Secretary in living memory but then what can one expect from some third rate ex-PR account executive.
