SEC OF STATE CALLS IN KENSINGTON FORUM APPLICATION

 The Kensington Society reports...

Kensington Forum Hotel:

Good news – the Secretary of State has decided to call in the Mayor of London’s application for his own decision. This will mean that there will be a public inquiry, although we do not have a timetable yet.

The main parties to the inquiry will be:
  • The developer, supported by the Mayor of London; and
  • RBKC, supported by local residents and the Kensington Society

We shall contact you again when we have more details of the timetable to seek your support.

South Kensington Station:

The applicants – Native Land/TfL – have submitted their “revised” scheme. The Council is seeking comments by 12 February. We are working closely with local residents’ associations and we will be submitting our objection.

We shall be in contact with you again when we have assessed the changes in relation to our objection to the original application and seek your support.  The changes have, as far as we have had time to assess, not addressed our objections.

  1. This could be good news. But we need to understand if Jenrick has connections/donations/favours with developers Native Land.

    They both have form....

This is also a chance for the Kensington Society to redeem itself from their disastrous and self interested power play when they supported the Newcombe Tower development against the interests of residents and their Membership. The Chairman enjoyed her five minutes of fame by acting as power broker between the RBKC planners, the developer and the Duke in Kensington Palace. This time, Kensington Society must give it their best shot.

Its a pity that the Hillgate Residents Association , a potent fighting force, is not part of the action.

  2. 17.46 you are an idiot. The Residents Association fought a huge fight based on outstanding(and costly) research and presented strongly at the various hearings. Kensington has rarely seen the like.

The problem was the Traitor. The Kensington Society. Who betrayed their membership and the interests of residents and supported the developers. A dark cloud over the Kensington Society which was mislead on this occasion by its tired and stale leadership.

In better times, the Kensington Society would have been shown the gallows. Sadly, in our WOKE dominated times, any amount of rubbish thrives.
