A DEADWEIGHT AND HIS NEW CAB

Here's a picture of the utterly hopeless Cllr Pascal hopping into his £60, 000 set of wheels.
MAYORAL WHEELS
Pascal was offered the Mayorship as compensation for being booted off the leadership team.
This dented the £75,000 a year the hubby and wife team were pulling in.
Pascall is a rather foolish and inept fellow. One of his 'brainwaves' was a project to recycle Nespresso capsules!

RBKC pays lip service to reducing the dangerous levels of toxic air in the Borough. Major offenders are queueing taxis with their vile idling diesel engines spewing out poison. Has the Council a plan to deal with this menace? No.
Similarly, The Big Bus Tour company runs ancient vehicles more suited to a third world country.
It's time this council showed some initiative and determination. For a start, CEO's who seem to idle their time away should be able to ticket vehicles with stationary idling engines

  2. 21:41 thank you for this.
One name stands out.....Cllr Robert Freeman.
Freeman, an outstanding mayor and a sad reminder of what happened when you stood up to the ghastly Pooter Cockell.
Cockell was a man of mean intelligence but with a superior capacity for cunning.
In Freeman he saw an 'existential'(apologies....so over used) threat to his lavish lifestyle funded by us poor, bloody taxpayers.
In Robert Freeman we had a potential council leader of high intelligence and probity.
So sad that a petty minded Nobody prevented residents from benefiting from Freeman's talents.
Worse still, not one councillor stood up to Cockell and demanded Freeman be given a Cabinet position. They should hang their heads in shame.

  3. I agree with Mr. Downes. Cockell left a legacy in the likes of his favourites...Pascall and Dizzy Lizzy.
This is what happens when you don't allow a hundred flowers to bloom. How fortunate to have the Dame with her Sword of Truth waging war against corruption. You stopped Cockell getting his peerage; saw off boy loving Phelps and exposed two timing Palmer.
    Hurrah for our dear Dame!!

  4. Eight years ago the Hornet started the campaign to get rid of the ridiculous and profligate Bentley and Jag used to support the equally ridiculous and bloated Offices of the two Mayors. TWO OF THEM!

At last the campaign has resulted in change. Another triumph for the Dame. Now the Mayors travel in a taxi.

Having said that, the rather humble electric taxi that is made in China looks rather naff with the personalised RBKC number plate. But of course the puffers love this nonsense.

It is now time to start a campaign to get rid of the Mayors and use the money on resident services instead. The whole nonsense costs a cool £1 million per year.

Super puffer Cockell forced through the decision to buy the Bentley. He wanted it for personal use to boost his ego when travelling to meet VIPs or to ferry him to Heathrow for his N American freebie holidays on the Council Tax. Tory Councillors were not keen but were too timid to oppose the monster who was know to punish bad poodles by with holding baubles and patronage such as the Office of Mayor.

Time for dizzy and her set to stop all this puffing and close down the expensive sinecures.

    1. Well said WASP. Cllr Pascall will do the job well because he loves this kind of pomp and likes "stand out" transport. His own car has special blacked out passenger windows and lowered suspension.

The job description is obsolete. Puffing should not be part of the Royal Borough culture in 2019

  5. Pascall is an outstanding and very inclusive Mayor. It has been an unparalleled success.

  6. Cllr Pascall has given distinguished service since his election in May 2010 as a Conservative Councillor. He has served senior positions on a number of the Borough Major Committees (eg Planning) and has served on the Boards of the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and the London Councils.

He is a distinctive Mayor, looks the part, a handsome fellow and has a good tailor.

    A credit to public service

  7. 9:26 You are clearly ex Cllr Daniel Moylan. Your supercilious tone gives you away. He was fired from Planning for being unable to grasp the detail
