DECAUX ABUSES OUR UNION JACK
Decaux litter our beautiful streets with their ghastly, intrusive street tat.
Now, to add insult to injury, they have liveried up their Renault vans with our national flag.
Decaux has been a sick joke for years. Grabbing hundreds of thousands of pounds a year for failing to maintain those endless bits of street tat. The Dame will remind us whether or not it was they who once breakfasted in splendour with the Rotten Borough's lost and unlamented Moylan.
ReplyDeleteBoth of them are pricks
DeleteWhat a pity Mrs T is longer around with her handkerchief. She could do for the French what she did for BA.
ReplyDeleteThe cheek! Ever since the Eurostar Terminal was moved from Waterloo the frogs have once more got ides above their station
ReplyDeleteDecaux has no taste, knowledge or etiquette. The Union Jack is upside down.
ReplyDeleteMay be it's illegal to display it like that. I seem to remember you are not supposed to hang the Union Jack without a pole or something. May be there is a law about how to display a graphic image.
DeleteThank you Dear Dame for adding to this LED debacle debate. Huge flashing LED advertising board displays have been spotted next to Roslyn Park rugby football ground - this is going into the same distraction zone as drone over use, next stop more in RBKC no doubt.
ReplyDeleteWhat can we do, any ideas, who can help to oppose any more and getting rid of the existing ones?
A pox on the ghastly people from France
ReplyDeleteA real flash brigade. Unfortunately this is what British Society has come to. Oligarchs, hate preachers, scooter crime, spivs, dizzy and Decaux
ReplyDeleteOwl should include Megan and Bent-Coade in her list
DeleteFourth rate Prime Ministers and Leaders of the Opposition
ReplyDeleteTime to move to the US of A?
DeleteThe Donald? No contest......
DeleteNo thanks
ReplyDeleteThere is no point in the Dame moaning on about Decaux, which she does with increasing and boring frequency. All Decaux installations are approved by the Planners in Hornton Street. The company is doing what it is allowed to do according to the rules. If the Dame has a problem with this then she needs to contact Hornton Street and explain why the rules need to change.
ReplyDeleteI do not like Arab louts and Irish bombers in our streets. Unfortunately they are a fact of life. I can solve the problem by moving to the country. The Dame could move to France where, I am told, Decaux does not have the freedom that is afforded them in London.
The Dame is an aging hag in bad health with poor eyesight, poor hearing and pining for the past. Her readers should indulge the sad thing.
DeleteHow DARE you. The Dame is in vibrant health: in fact, so much so that discerning people of quality claim she has the looks and attributes of her dear friend, that other Grande Dame, Dame Barbara Cartland
DeleteBarbara Cartland is dead. I rest my case.
Delete@09:05 - Thats not true, RBKC planning refused some large LED signage and were overruled by the Planning Inspectorate. Guess if nasty LED signage springs up outside your home you will have something to say about it!
ReplyDeleteThe Planning Inspectorate for England and Wales is an executive agency of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government of the United Kingdom Government with responsibility to make decisions and provide recommendations and advice on a range of land use planning-related issues across England and Wales. Wikipedia
I stand corrected. Thank you Anon 13.18. The Dame needs to redirect her efforts to the Planning Inspectorate and rope in some help from Hornton Street.
DeleteYou are quite right that I would not like LED signage outside my home. But worse has happened
Thank you @14:23 - but what could be worse than huge scale, flashing LED advertising pollution in your window 24/7 - 365?
DeleteI will not tolerate attacks on the Dame
ReplyDeleteThank you, my dear
DeleteTake a look around you. High resolution, huge scale, flashing LED advertising is blighting RBKC and more will come. BT is turing phone kiosks into moving LED advertising boards to offset its coin box losses. Bus stop seating reduced to a space for 1-2 people (depending on size) to make way for moving LED advertising - take a look you will find it being rolled out everywhere. Paper advertising boards are simply replaced overnight by upscaled LED boards - Action needs to be taken.
