Future ex-Cllr Read is not the only one who doesn't understand the meaning of 'objectivity'.
When Cllr. Ahern succeeded Cllr. Moylan as the Cabinet member with responsibility for planning matters, we all hoped that this would bring a more objective approach to how the Borough develops in the coming years.
Sadly, a report from a recent meeting of the Working Party on proposed developments at Notting Hill is not good news. While discussing the future of the tower block, Cllr Ahern said that “we” are looking for shops below, then offices and then high end luxury housing. When he was asked who“we” were, he said “Oh, this is what Merrick wants”.
Given the shocked intake of breath that this comment received, the Working Party has not been convened for a further meeting!
POOTER PLAYING PUPPET MASTER |
Good man that Merrick chap
ReplyDeleteYou must be unique: even his fellow Conservative cllrs want shot of him: but are too gutless to do te biz
ReplyDeleteWord was always out that Cllr Ahern is a SUPER poodle. Now we have proof positive
ReplyDeleteFunny how all the Toriy Councillors bow and scrape to the reptile Cockell. When the Library refurbishment project came to the Planning Committee one hapless Cabinet Member (I will spare him the embarrassment) commented "and a coffee shop on the ground floor, that's what Merrick wants"
ReplyDeletePass the sick bag
with your spelling I declare you to be Clouseau Palmer and I claim my prize
DeleteCllr Ahern's ambition to be Leader of K&C should not be taken seriously. He is not leadership material.
ReplyDeleteNone of them are except for Emma Dent Coad, a fine lady who is honest and well balanced. Could someone tell me about the former Mr DC, I fancy my chances here
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous 20.25
ReplyDeleteI'm torn between being flattered and insulted here, as your second comment rather undermines the first!
Unfortunately, for the immediate future the Leadership of the Council will probably remain with the Conservatives who have the majority. However, given the current mood in the borough, anything could happen. Perhaps you would like to offer your help to address this issue?
There is no 'Mr DC', my name is my own (or at least an abbreviation of my own, which is rather long).
so are you available ? If so, I will send a note to your home address and we can meet for a posh meal and an exchange of information?
DeleteThe Dame does not allow the site to be used for secret assignations.....unless a suitable fee is paid.
Deletetough - free speech - any attempt to stop us from meeting must be resisted.
DeleteThe issue is Ahern. He is as useless as his predecessor was pernicious. For residents, the effect is much the same. Nothing will improve till Tory councillors find the communal backbone to evict Pooter. At every turn Ahern provides evidence of his multiple deficiencies.
ReplyDeleteQuite right Dame, most impertinent.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 10.09, I don't accept 'posh meals' from strangers, but if you want to win my admiration you need to join the Labour Party and be reliably helpful for at least three by-elections.
Then we'll see.
oh sorry but I will not join any political party - can you over look this ?
