A VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE TO KENSINGTON & CHELSEA RESIDENTS

Dear Member

The Chelsea Society has expressed its concern to RBKC about two matters:
  1. The failure to include a representative from The Chelsea Society and another from The Kensington Society in the Quality Review Panel which they have established to advise the Council on the architectural quality of new buildings and major alterations  See https://chelseasociety.org.uk/quality-review-panel/ and
  2. The failure of the Council to consult The Chelsea Society before deciding to carry out street works in Chelsea.  See https://chelseasociety.org.uk/street-works/

The Council has responded by requesting a Zoom meeting with The Chelsea Society, to be attended by Cllr. Elizabeth Campbell, Leader of RBKC and one of the Councillors for Royal Hospital Ward, and Cllr. Johnny Thalassites, Lead Member for Planning and Transport.

The Society invites its members to participate in this meeting at

  1. Is Daniel Moylan on this body?If so, he's probably behind the barring of these two powerful societies.

Astonishing that on one hand the Council seeks to pretend to a new regime of resident friendliness and then pisses on them by refusing to listen to them

  3. I'm confused - is it not virtually impossible to refuse a planning application on 'quality' ie aesthetic grounds - aesthetics being basically a personal opinion? No architect is going to say another architect's design is abysmal, though of course they may say a developer's or a surveyor's is!

  4. We stumbled over here by a different web page and thought I might check things out. I like what I see so now i am following you. Look forward to going over your web page repeatedly.
