BIG SPENDER IN OUR CABINET...
The Dame(never one to stint herself) hears there is a Barbara Amiel ('she, whose extravagance knows no bounds') competitor in the RBK&C Cabinet....
The lady in question is so profligate with her spending on fine clothes hubby took a pair of scissors to her credit cards!

HUBBY'S SCISSORS |
And, no...the Dame, being the soul of discretion will not be naming names....
Well its certainly not a Labour councillor, because all their women are either divorced or unmarried
ReplyDeleteIn reply to Anonymous at 22,44. The Labour lot are so stylish, the profits of Primark and What She Wants have gone through the roof in pursuit of RBKC Labour women's sartorial elegance. Not a little black dress in sight. Blair told his 1997 babes to wear the little black dress with one string of Woolworth's pearls.
DeleteThat isn't true 22.44, two of Labour's women Councillors are very much married. Two have never married, and one was married and divorced twice I hear, so that's four marriages between five women, not bad really.
ReplyDeleteBut this story is very naughty of you Dame, we won't sleep until we work out who it is. Do give us a clue.
Which two are married?
ReplyDeletePress and Lasharie - and don't forget one is an unmarried grandmother.
DeleteAnd I thought Healy is a widow? So basically, all decent heterosexuals - as if it mattered.
DeleteNice try at distraction Cllr Palmer, but we are still trying to work out WHO on the Cabinet is a spendthrift. Councillors' domestic arrangements are private if they wish them to be, but if a Cabinet Member has no head for figures, that is something else entirely and is of public interest.
ReplyDeleteThere are three women in the Cabinet - Gardner, Weale and E Campbell. We may be able to guess which one is a clothes' horse; the airhead with a 'just out of the hairdresser' hair-do.
got your facts wrong there 08.20. You must be a Labour councillor
DeleteYes even I know that Dead Cod has got her facts wrong again
DeleteThe Dame is not for drawing....so mischief makers...enough!
ReplyDeleteSuffice to say that the lady in question may be personally profligate on the sartorial front, but is very tight fisted when it comes to those who need our special care and attention.
That can only be 'Loopy Loo' E Campbell.
DeleteGood grief, what a terrible story - if true of course!
Yes it is of course the blessed Elizabeth Campbell - see earlier postings on the Hornet.
DeleteTwo spelling mistakes - must be Palmer. Dear Dame, do remove this horrible comment and/or report him for trolling. It is an imprisonable offence now.
ReplyDeleteA comment was put up of such vileness that the Dame did something she rarely did and removed it.
ReplyDeleteShe assume it was made by Cllr Palmer as he spells, in his idiosyncratic way, 'heterosexual' as 'hetrosexual'.
Palmer, for goodness sake...we know you are crude, but at least use spellcheck if you cannot spell
Cllr Palmer
ReplyDeleteYou give yourself away by your vulgarity and inability to spell.
Maighread Condon Simmonds dresses beautifully, I wonder if it could be her.
ReplyDeleteWell, firstly she is not in the Cabinet thanks be to god: secondly, she is unmarried(?) and thirdly....well politeness prevents me....
ReplyDeleteYou are very naughty, dear Dame. You first ran the story about Cllr Elizabeth Campbell's credit cards about a year ago. It is not like you to boil cabbages twice. But this explains why she thought spending £100 million and more on the new Holland Park School was done "at no cost to the Council". She has a fine understanding of all things financial.
ReplyDeleteBTW the Mayor is either separated or divorced. As a devout Catholic, it may be the former.
The Dame may be 92 but she no recall of ever having castigated Cllr E Campbell for over using her credit card. Using her automated search engine she sought for the offending article but found no trace.
ReplyDeleteStill, one remembers her thick comment about 'no cost to the council'.
I think it was a comment from one of your readers - but Cllr. EC and her credit cards were certainly outed on your blog some time ago.
