Here is one Labour supporter who is doing his bit to enhance the tax gathering ambitions of his mate, Ed Miliband.....
BASEMENT BOY |
Deselected as K&C Labour Councillor Keith Cunningham (sacked for being hopeless) has set himself up as a "Planning Consultant" to help multi millionaire basement excavators having difficulty with Council approvals.
'Our Keith' claims to have the sort of inside track we all dream of. One Conservative multi millionaire Abingdon Villas owner paid 'Our Keith' £10,000 for his 'expertise'.
As Cunningham has not one relevant professional qualification one has to wonder what he does offer.....
This new market opportunity is a great little earner for all manner of experts and cowboys who have piled into the K&C honey pot.
2000 basements already applied for and only 10% rejected by Mr Bore and his planners. Officers could help 'Our Keith' to increase his fee if they were kind enough to double the rejection rate.
When Keith was fired from his job in North Kensington he lost the £30k SRA sinecure as Leader of the Opposition, a recipient of Pooter's patronage society. Obviously this particular Councillor is having no problem making up the cash shortfall. Pooter should take heart - he too can find a substitute for the £150k per year he is takes off tax payers as absentee Leader of K&C. If only he would get off his backside and go look for it.
So how is Keith helping to jack up revenues from the putative Mansion Tax? Simple...every time he gets a new basement through it increases the value and thus the tax take from the Mansion Tax...nice one Keith!
Outrageous...what a f****king hypocrite! Typical
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a 'cooling off' period to stop ex cllrs using their special knowledge and contacts
ReplyDeleteYou can talk! You do it on the job.....
DeleteThere needs to be a 'cooling off' period for officers too, as many go straight from Planning to Planning consultants, and can use all their contacts, knowledge and experience against the Council process, which is disgraceful.
ReplyDeleteCunningham always liked money. Definitely not "Old Labour". With basement applications in K&C running at 400 per year, if he only manages to corner 5% of the advisory market at £10k per time, that's a massive £200k per year. Add that to his Lecturer's pension and his State Pension, and this "new Labour" guy is firmly in the Blair footsteps.
ReplyDeleteIf this bit of old rope can pull in £200k per year from farming his contacts then Cockell should at least be able to manage £100k per year for giving advice. Go on Pooter - take the plunge
DeleteThe Council held a Planning Briefing for Councillors in Hornton Street last night and it was reported that basement applications are running at the rate of 800 per year. That's an extra income for "Keith" of £400k per year
DeleteGet turbo charged Keith for £10k a bop

all basements welcome
ego charged prat
DeleteOf course ex-councillor Lamont was also offering his services as a planning consultant. And wasn't there a Labour ex-councillor who spoke at his trial to say what a good chap Lamont was? Can't quite remember who that ex-councillor was. Can any one help me?
ReplyDeleteFrom memory it was his old mucker Keith Cunningham who provided a character witness. Obviously, it had no effect with the cynical jury who found the vile and disgusting child porn obsessive Lamont guilty of most counts. Another mate of our Prime Minister
ReplyDeleteI think the nice things that Cunningham and Donaldson said saved him from an immediate custodial sentence. What a grubby place is the Kingdom of Cockell.
ReplyDeleteThe Labour Leadership would not waste time with rubbish like Cunningham
ReplyDeleteKeith and Des - both like the market
ReplyDeleteBut they need to be hammered when they take advantage of the public sector. Des lives in a Council house and rents out his private properties. Keith uses his public servant contacts shamelessly to make money for himself. Not nice people
Who is Des?
DeleteColville Labour Councillor. Former drinking buddy of Cunningham and another self-serving reptile.
DeleteThe rot does not stop there. Doesn't Labour's Todd Foreman work as a lawyer for JP Morgan Securities?
DeleteWhat is wrong with Cllr Todd Foreman working for JP Morgan? You must be a looney leftie
DeleteWhat would happen without the Dame? How come she is on to every little bit of skullduggery.
ReplyDeleteWithout the Hornet where would we be.
LONG LIVE THE DAME
Cllr Cunningham used to be one of the more dowdy inhabitants of Hornton Street. But recently he has been seen sporting new and expensive suits and designer ties. No wonder
ReplyDeleteStill does not understand the importance of smart shoes
DeleteI know what you mean. Those dreadful grey hush puppies favoured by the working class
Deletewith sort of Velcro fastners? Ghastly little poly lecturer
DeleteLooks like Dr Rhodes-Boyson
ReplyDeleteYet another politician who leads by example! It does not surprise me why in a recent poll in the Nationals, Politicians came bottom on the point of trust with, I think 17%. They are a complete let down and it is time for reform of both the Hornton Street and for that matter both the Commons and Lords becasue there are just far too many of these people with far too little to do. In fact they are a darn nuisance. The danger is that as time goes by fewer and fewer people will vote; in truth in RBK&C there is little point in voting as it is a foregone colclusion who is going to win. This sadly is one of the downsides of the present election system, my view would be to go for a hybrid between the present ystem and proportional representation (and I am not a Liberal); just fair.
ReplyDeleteex Cllr Cunningham is unavailable for comment
ReplyDeleteCunningham is a friend of Andrew Paterson
ReplyDeleteWas Bore's man who became a poacher?
DeleteSame one
DeleteK&C Labour recognised that they had liability Leader and got rid of Cunningham. Time for K&C Tories to take a leaf out of Labour's book and get rid of Cockell
ReplyDeleteWas Our Keith misusing Council resouces? It was reported that after he left the Council a lot of his private business affairs - "Planning Solutions" - were found on a PC in the chairmen's room, which had to be hurriedly deleted.
ReplyDeleteWhile Bore has much to answer for, Patterson was before his time.
ReplyDeleteWhile a councillor, Cunningham had a remarkable ability to assist certain applicants to obtain planning permission. Interesting to see nothing has changed.
