DIMWITTED KHAN SHAMES THIS CITY

One Londoner has total control over the 95% of vehicles which create some of the highest levels of pollution by leaving their engines idling whilst stationary.

Overnight, the feckless Mayor of this city could take a massive step to slash this pollution.

So, how could 'Khan't do anything right' deal with problem?
KHAN FANATICALLY DOING NOTHNG

Simple: he is responsible for the licencing of the 95% of offenders....taxis and private hire vehicles so has access to the address of every owner.
He can even withdraw their licences.

Has the dimwit ever thought to write to each owner taxi and private hire car reminding them the Highway Code forbids the running of an engine when the vehicle is stationary "you must not leave a vehicle's engine running unnecessarily while that vehicle is stationary on a public road."

Has he laid down the law to drivers and owners?
Of course not.
He just hasn't a clue.
It's shameful that the world's greatest city is run by a little nincompoop

  1. Incredible that such a simple stratagem has not been adopted by Khan.
He has the solution in his hands.

  3. As a matter of interest can you please quote the evidence for the statement that 95% of the offenders are taxis and private hire vehicles?

  4. Dimwit...taxis and Chauffeur driven cars sit there in the summer with engines running to keep cars cool for their ghastly clients and taxis do the same.
In the winter do they do the same to keep cars warm.
    Look at any rank.
How often do you see 'normal' people sitting in their cars.

  5. Could you kind people sign the petition and spread the link to help the survivors please? Thanks.

  6. Has Dent Coad made any representations to the Mayor?

  7. What is the point of the flimsy notices fixed to lamp-posts: "No idling engines, fixed penalty notice of £40". A F.O.I. request revealed that RBKC has issued two 'FPNs in the past decade. The signs are regularly torn down so they are not a deterrent. A case of the Council being seen to do something when they are not doing anything - no fines so no change in driver behaviour so idling engines continue to needlessly pollute the atmosphere.

  8. Instead of full page newspaper adverts "To the Mayor every journey matters" why not use that money for a campaign and real sanctions for idling engines i.e. fines that are issued and have to be paid. If fines are incurred for parking illegally why not for leaving an engine idling unnecessarily?
