MALC TELLS EMIR TO WATCH IT |
The man is really quite useless.
Unlike his neighbour, Greg Hands, Malc refuses to hold surgeries. Instead he demands we all traipse down to the Commons to see him.
Most of Malc's time is spent pontificating, with little impact, on international issues.
Could this be connected to his need to maintain and develop his portfolio of high earning extra mural business interests? After all, client companies need to feel he still remains a big hitter in foreign affairs.
But what a shame he does not apply the same commitment to local issues and local residents. And there is still no sign of the blog he promised the Dame he was working on!
On the Mansion Tax and basements-issues of extreme importance to constituents Malc has nothing to say.
His most recent foray into Middle Eastern politics met with derision.
He suggested we needed to cosy up to the vile Rouhani, the medieval savage who runs that pariah state, Iran (as an aside, Iran's most proactive supporter is Austria-a country that has never managed to shake off its Nazi heritage)
Since coming to power Rouhani has allowed the execution, by strangulation or stoning, of 967 victims...and he still wants to evaporate Israel......
Considering Rifkind is Jewish it's quite extraordinary he would wish us to buddy up to these mad anti-semites.
And today Malc has a go at the visiting Qatari leader.
In a bullish tone Malc tells him he must desist from 'running with the hare and hunting with the hounds'.
As we are now practically owned by this horrid little dictatorship The Dame can't see Dictator Al Thani taking Malc's advice very seriously.
Malc, leave foreign affairs to the very capable Phillip Hammond: follow the advice of Voltaire and 'cultivate your own garden'

Well said Dame....as usual you don't mess and go straight for the jugular! The man is an utter disgrace. I suspect he has no interest in the Mansion tax because it won't affect him
ReplyDeleteThe highest paid MP in the House of Commons from non Executive work. He needs the MP title to hang on to all those Directorships
DeleteIt would be very interesting to know if any one among Malc's thousands of constituents is willing to contact the Dame to bear personal witness to the MP's sterling efforts on their behalf. One suspects the Dame will not be rushed off her dainty feet.
ReplyDeleteThere has been a deafening silence. Surprise, surprise
DeleteThis is plain speaking which is exactly what is required with this passenger MP that the Royal Borough has put up with for much too long. The Dame has this trougher in her sights - he had better watch out.
ReplyDeleteWhy do the Tories always select these spent politicians looking for a seat in the HOC? There is a long, long list. Not since Sir Brandon has there been a local MP who takes up our causes and fights for them and gets results. And things are currently critical - K&C is at the forefront of suffering from house prices and Mansion Tax and basements and high end residential development for absent foreigners. We need an MP to get to grips with all of this, articulate the problems, and get some movement in legislation.
ReplyDeleteInstead we have a disaster on legs
Even the legs point the wrong way
DeleteCllr Paget-Brown has written an excellent letter to the MP Balls laying out reasons why the Mansion Tax would be unfair to Kensington residents. Where is our MP on this issue? Nowhere. Malcolm Rifkind should be making a noise, rattling the cage, rallying the troops in a campaign to stop the tax from happening. Unfortunately he is too busy with his non Executive Directorships and being an armchair strategist on Radio 4. The most useless constituency MP imaginable
ReplyDeleteThe K&C Tories need to get shot of the man.
It s just so true that Sir Brandon Rhys-Williams was the last Conservative MP to take any interest in the area - he even used to hold a weekly surgery in North Kensington!
ReplyDeleteThe Wiliiams were a perceptive family. Lady Rhys-Williams spoke out strongly against Cllr Moylan when he stood to be Leader of Kensington and Chelsea. The victor, by the Chairman's casting vote, was Cllr Cockell. The rest is history. What a pity that Lady Rhys- Williams did not have two speaking opportunities
DeleteNo he didn't he paid for someone to sit in for him because he could not be bothered to turn up in the north
DeleteFunny - the stand in looked just like Sir Brandon when I went to see him there.
DeleteWell read the 1983 kensington labour election leaflet. You will find that even the dozy trots knew " brandon rice krispies " paid someone else to do his surgery workk
DeleteA terrible democratic affliction. A plague. The Royal Borough has suffered nearly two decades of Cockell and Rifkind. Residents and democracy have been massively short changed. Hornton street has been crippled into a sclerotic functioning machine. The Tory benches have been diminished. It will take at least another decade to put this right.
ReplyDeleteLets ditch rifkind and get moylan or lightfoot
ReplyDeleteAre you quite mad? Moylan has been warned that there could be be media repercussions if he tried to stand....Lightfoot...Squeaker would be panto figure
DeleteI see Poodle Palmer couldn't resist stepping in to promote his idols. M Rifkind should be told that Palmer is briefing against him.
ReplyDeleteMalc has just been on Channel 4, pontificating on the Qataris international position. He's far too busy and self important to involve himself with the trivial problems of the thousands of 'little people' who have the misfortune to be his constituents.
