CEO OF WESTWAY FINDS HUMOUR IN THE CLOSING OF WEST LONDON STABLES

On Saturday, despite a 2000 strong petition, the riding stables run for years with great devotion, will close.
The stables were a true gift to the local community.
Young people, who could never afford to ride, were given that opportunity by Sarah Turvey: she made a real difference to their often deprived lives.

A REAL SERVICE TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

So how did the Chief Executive, Angela McConville treat this sad passing?
McConville is an Irishwoman(the Dame has much Irish blood) so can attest that other Irish people would consider her irritatingly 'gobby'.
She loves the sound of her own voice and is a frighful bore.
Instead of commiserating over the loss she seem to treat it with frivolity and levity.....if her tweet is anything to go by.
What a very stupid woman and a very dumb tweet.

  2. First they take the stables, then the travellers under the Westway will be moved on before Feilding Mellen turns his fascist policy of social cleansing onto the housing estates of North Kensington.

  3. Truly shocking. There's no room for anyone except the largely absent super rich. RBKC's policy of social cleansing is now so extreme, there will come a time when it may lead to violence on the streets. This is no threat but the simple logic of the current situation. If it happens, a shocked Council will demand Boris's water cannon are wheeled out, to protect the selfish few from the abused majority. Apart from all moral considerations, it's not clever politics. Not clever at all.

  4. What a disgusting woman.

There have been horses here for over a century and some jumped up arriviste (who will have to look up what the word means) bounces in out of nowhere and shuts the stables down? When she moves on to her next executive position - please Lord, make it quickly - she'll have irrevocably destroyed a part of London's history. And the Council will allow this. Is there anything they won't allow?

  5. The irritable Statement, hinting at utterly bogus animal welfare issues, from Westway.

Being able to spout business-speak; sterile efficiency; ticking boxes and keeping careful notes are all that matter now. What a sterile, miserable borough we're becoming.

  6. How utterly sad for the local area to lose what is presumably their only opportunity for kids to ride horses and for the local riding for the disabled group. The therapeutic and health benefits of horse riding are many, varied and well documented. No the site probably isn't suitable to become a centre of excellence for horseriding, but why should "excellence" matter? It could still be a reasonable site for offering local children and adults the chance to enjoy a therapeutic and beneficial outdoors sport in an urban location which will surely never see another suitable property become available.

  7. It's not easy to tell from a small photo, but she seem to be the woman from Westway Trust who addressed a recent meeting of the Markets Street Action Group. Her audience fell into a coma while she droned for an hour that the way to improve cash flow to the Trust is to provide yet more retail opportunities to the residents of one of the least affluent wards in Europe. Genius!

  8. Dreadful woman, how much is she paid to behave this way?Yet another local service for local people bites the dust whilst the Councillors do what to help? Sarah is one human being, who fundraises as best she can, she keeps the horses healthy and happy and makes a difference locally by providing a service which brings people together from all areas of the community, financially wealthy and those who are vulnerable... I think its called community cohesion? Instead of recognising what Sarah and her team brings to our community, this creature has acted in a disgusting arrogant way but then she fits nicely into Westway who have as usual used their reprehensible bullying and devious tactics for which they are well known. Their press statement is an example of this and full of misleading information, lets not forget how they dismantled Acklam Playspace, only to leave it as a pile of dust. It would be amazing if someone could help Sarah and her team quickly to save these stables, revamp them and help her. There are enough people in this Borough with money that could sort this out quickly. As for what Westway gives to local people...NOW THAT is seriously questionable.

    1. More deathly inaction and silence from the RBKC Labour Party.
If they dont wake up soon there will be nothing left worth fighting for in North Kensington.

    2. Cllr Mason is the culprit here, he is very fond of Westway and the current CEO for reasons unknown. It's up to Cllrs Dent Coad and Powell to speak up for all who love and work in north Ken. Westway is not a 'destination', we're already here and want the best for our community.

That is a very interesting piece of information and would explain why RBKC Labour have remained silent on a number of troubling issues at the Westway.
If this is true then Councillor Mason should hang his head in deep shame.

    4. Labour have assisted Sarah over many years, firstly and successfully when Martyn Freeman tried to throw her out. Someone claiming to act on behalf of Sarah then began to abuse them for their work. Labour got the Stables put back into the Westway Supplementary Planning Document when the Tories left it out; they have had meeting after meeting with the Westway Trust to no avail. It is quite clear the Trust wishes to have a paintballing company and the skateboard park there - and they already have a sponsor to pay for all that. Poor Sarah and her horses never stood a chance.

  9. Having met the woman I can testify that she is rude, vain and entirely out of touch. On the same night this tweet was posted she was out for dinner with Fielding-Mellen at a new local restaurant (£150 for two... Hopefully not on expenses) no doubt complaining about the hoi polloi. It is a real shame that the Trustees and member orgs aren't speaking up. But wait, recent prospective Trustees were 'interviewed' by Angela before being considered (really?!?) and the member orgs are too busy fighting for survival. Perhaps she'll learn through the Deloitte pioneer scheme that she (or her husband, senior Deloitte staffer) got Westway involved with... We can only hope.

    1. Feilding Mellen is an immoral fascist who is just about to put his name to the "social cleansing" of North Kensington and the Westway Trust are already planning ahead for a new type of clientele.

  10. She should get one her skates and do one and leave the poor horses a lone.

  11. So the reference to the 'power of persuasion' plus her tweets about dinner with RFM on the same day are troubling. What happened to transparency?

  12. Wow! I just read this woman's Tweet! Am I understanding correctly that she finds humour in depriving a hard working and dedicated member of the local community of her livelihood and putting the lives of all those poor horses on the line? The slaughter of the innocents to her is funny? Is this really the contempt that she and her ilk hold the rest of us in? I include the councillors and local politicians in that given that this drama is playing out in David Cameron's back yard and only three months away from an election.

  13. She'd better hope that the Daily Mail don't get hold of that Tweet and the back story, their readers really hate anything that smacks of animals suffering
