Read what Malc is quoted as saying he can fix...LINK
And Jack Straw is just as bad!
"Malc told undercover reporters from this newspaper(Daily Tel) and Channel 4’s Dispatches, to be broadcast on Monday night, that he would submit questions to ministers on behalf of a paying client, without revealing their identity.
Sir Malcolm also described himself as “self-employed” and had to “earn my income” — despite being paid £67,000 by the taxpayer for his work as an MP. The disclosure that two of Britain’s most senior politicians are embroiled in a new “cash for access” scandal highlights Parliament’s failure to address the issue which has plagued British politics for a generation"
Time to step down and concentrate on you 'self employed' affairs.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder politicians are despised
Rifkind found out. AGAIN
Delete'You'd be surprised at how much free time I have ...'. Oh I thought he was working hard in his constituency, silly me.
ReplyDeleteKensington can no longer afford Sir Malcolm as its MP. He is too busy elsewhere. The Conservative Association holds its AGM this Thursday at 7.30pm. Deselection should start then.
ReplyDeleteCllr Mills is sharpening her knife
DeleteEnough is enough. This fraud needs to be moved on
DeleteSo - Sir Malcolm has been summoned to see the Chief Whip later today. The Chief Whip is Michael Gove, who is one of Sir Malcolm’s constituents, living as he does in Barlby Road, so close to Sir Malcolm’s new constituency office. Coincidentally, this is also the first part of North Kensington to come officially under Cllr. Feilding-Mellen’s intention to “regenerate”, i.e. to knock down the homes of ordinary working people on the Balfour Burleigh estate and turn it into a haven for the squeezed middle. Some of the people who will be displaced will graciously be allowed to return to homes on the new estate, but the vast bulk of the new development will be homes for sale and homes for market rent. Wheels within wheels – will Sir Malcom get a telling off and have to stand down from the upcoming election? Who will replace him as candidate? I note from a leaflet dropped through my letterbox a little while ago that the Labour candidate, Dr. Rod Abouharb, has already given a written commitment that he will not take any outside jobs if elected to represent Kensington. So obviously he is the man to vote for.
ReplyDeletePosh Poor sounds like Dent-Coade. Labour blogger on the Labour blog
DeleteI may be posh but poor, but no, that wasn't me. It's about time 'anonymous 09.29' accepted that a lot of Tory voters are very dissatisfied, by the way the Council treats residents and by the 'lots of free time' incumbent MP.
DeleteI'm sure the Dame, who knows many of the Anonymous posters, would agree. And I'm not her either.
EDC, amy be 'Posh' but at least she has integrity. Shes probably 'Poor' , cos shes not taking any ' Cash for questions ' .
DeleteAre Conservative Councillors supposed to support residents... this is news to me !
DeleteAnonymous 11.26 - Your comments seem to somewhat naive. Conservative Councillors / MPS are there to serve self interest first and foremost, then their constituents, when they have the free time to deal with their constituents troublesome little matters, allegedy . Were you not aware of this when you cast your postal vote.
DeleteFor too many years, ever since he became MP for Kensington and Chelsea in 2005, this carpet bagger has been short changing constituents. Whether he has been skiving off by not bothering to offer a surgery in his constituency or using our platform to grandstand as a Leadership candidate for the Conservative Party (remember that?) the man has been an all round useless representative of the people
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with Kensington and Chelsea Tories who seem to favour the Pooters and Riffers as their top people?
DeleteThe well off ladies of Kensington read their Daily Telegraph. It is the house journal. The coverage today of the scandalous behaviour of Malcolm Rifkind will be noticed
ReplyDeleteWhat a wanker. All that experience and training and he falls for these silly journos
ReplyDeleteDon't kick a man when he is down
DeleteThis reminds me of a sporting story.....Lester Piggot was invited to shoot at Blenheim. He was seen firing away at a pheasant, running this way and that, along a fence, attempting to escape. The Duke remonstrated with Piggot saying, "we don't shoot running birds' to which Piggot replied, " I know, I am waiting for the bloody thing to stop". Rifkind is still running away from the facts.
DeleteThe comments of Mr Rifkind in the paper today shows a complete lack of respect for his residents and he should apologise. If he thinks he is self employed and has lots of free time then his MP salary should be terminated and he should be paid by results
ReplyDeleteThose seeking employment who pass on the information "I am self employed" are often saying "I am not part of the PAYE". Its code for lets do a cash deal.
DeleteThe Conservative Association needs to consider carefully the wisdom of continuing with Sir Malcolm Rifkind as Member of Parliament for Kensington
ReplyDeleteThis is a resignation matter.
ReplyDeleteThat's the Tory way
DeleteThis guy is milking the system for all it is worth. It sucks
ReplyDeleteMalkys probably not too bothered, he can always stand as an MSP for the Scottish Parliament.....ooops..
ReplyDeleteFor a number of years the Dame has been warning the Borough of Kensington that they are supporting a dodgy guy. Once again, her wisdom and perception are on the button
ReplyDeleteRifkind now suspended!
DeleteAnother notch in the Dame's belt.
This starts to get interesting. If the rodent has been suspended from the Conservative Party, will the Conservative Association withdraw the invitation for the MP to address the Kensington and Chelsea Tories at the AGM this Wednesday? Greg Hands MP will be there.
DeleteWill be interesting to read what Greg Hands has to say about all this in his weekly newsletter to constituents.
DeleteAs a keen observer of our MP and his antics ...
ReplyDelete''You’d be surprised how much free time I have. I spend a lot of time reading. I spend a lot of time walking.'' .. is exactly what one would expect an MP who doesn't hold surgeries to say. The man is a fraud, passing himself off as an MP --- he should devote more energy to walking ... out of Parliament and quck-sharp
"I charge between £5,000 and £8,000 for half a days work".
DeleteThe website for the Kensington and Chelsea Conservative Association (Chairman Mathew Carrington) carries no news about the MPs suspension from the Party, A whole page is devoted to "news". What on earth are they up to? More concealment of information?
ReplyDeleteCarrington needs to pull his finger out
Give him a chance - it's only happened in the last few hours!
ReplyDeleteExpect blood all over the wall. This is an election sensitive issue with Milliband and Cameron neck and neck. Milliband is lucky that Rifkind was caught and Cameron is lucky that Straw was caught. So the Leaders have to try and demonstrate that each is more angry than the other. They have to go to the limit.
ReplyDeletePublic hanging?
