ART WORLD AND BORIS JOHNSON SAYING GOOD THINGS ABOUT VICTORIA BORWICK

This is an industry vital to the economy of the constituency.
And Boris has this to say about Victoria Borwick in the Standard.
It is very significant that a national politician like Boris Johnson is prepared to go public with his endorsement of Cllr Victoria Borwick BEFORE an election that will see perhaps 200 candidates punting for the job. Clearly he thinks that she is a person who is outstandingly right to become the next Member of Parliament for Kensington.
ReplyDeleteBoris has a nose for success and senses that this is a filly to back
DeleteFor many years I have seen Cllr Borwick in public meetings and gatherings with Kensington constituents. In the North and South of the Borough. Boris Johnson is spot on with his observation that she has "a wonderful empathy that people respond to".
ReplyDeleteThis Councillor has the most extraordinary energy that is dedicated to residents and public causes. She is tireless in the pursuit of help for constituents, whether it is a housing problem or the elderly suffering from power cuts at midnight. She is available and responsive and will be on the phone immediately to Officers and demanding action
ReplyDeleteBoris Johnson invited Victoria Borwick to be his Deputy Mayor of London when he was elected Mayor. She also contested the position and was runner up to Boris. He did not have to appoint her but she was the one that he chose. A dream team.
ReplyDeleteWHAT AN ENDORSEMENT!
ReplyDeleteVictoria was an early volunteer worker for the London Olympics and spent her time as a chauffeur meeting the athletes at London airport and driving them to the Olympic Village. What a welcome for our visitors!
ReplyDeleteNeighbours were bemused to see Victoria returning home in the purple uniform of the London Olympics after days of unpaid work. What a refreshing reminder that not all public servants only accept VIP positions or highly paid consultancies
Victoria Borwick is clearly very popular. Even if in practice she has yet to sprout wings and a halo, she's equally obviously both hard working and local. For the purposes of this travesty of a selection process, it is to be hoped Central Officer is listening.
ReplyDeleteThere is NO better candidate to represent Kensington and Chelsea Residents, I hope that Tory Central Office see that.
ReplyDeleteVictoria is amazing - such a pity that Julie does not support her.
ReplyDeleteCllr Mills, is a very professional politician and barrister. As Chairman of the Kensington Association Selection Committee it would be highly unusual (and improper) for her to let her preferences be known, for or against Cllr Borwick. Could this be another briefing against Cllr Borwick by Cllr Palmer? - a cause that has transfixed the sad backbencher for many years.
DeleteResident is certainly not Palmer, because it's me.
ReplyDeleteResident. I think you should leave those magic mushrooms alone for the moment. They don't agree with you and Julie won't be pleased with you.
DeleteBorwick should be stopped at every occasion
ReplyDeleteI agree....stopped and congratulated. Well said, Sir!
DeleteResident. You really should leave those magic mushrooms alone. They are doing dreadful things to your little brain.
