Every MP with a safe seat wants you to vote "no"
Why?
Simply because it means their cushy lifestyle as an MP is at risk...
VOTE YES AND MAKE THEM WORK HARDER FOR THEIR VOTES!
You do not need your polling card to vote, just go to your usual polling station with some proof of ID as you may be asked to present it.
VOTE YES!
It is interesting how many national papers have come out in favour of keeping the present system. For reasons that are well argued.
ReplyDeleteAV is ridiculed too because only three other countries in the world use it and one of them, Australia, is reported to be thinking of a return to First Past The Post
STV (single transferable vote) is obviously the Gold Standard but we ended up with the option of AV - the typical British compromise and fudge.
What is missed by the commentators is that voters are extremely demoralised by our politicians and we need the catharsis of being able to register a protest.
AV is a skirmish. The STV war still has to be won
