The Dame is rather jealous of Mr Conrad's piece in the http://www.kctimes.co.uk/
He has written an excellent piece on the proposed destruction of this vibrant piece of Victorian architecture.
When it comes to Conservation this Conservative council fails on every count,
Cllr Coleridge will be linked with that awful vandal, the late and very sinister, Nicholas Freeman, as a destroyer of our heritage.
It was Freeman who ordered the illegal destruction of the old Town Hall.....a dreadful little fellow.

WELL DONE NICK PAGET-BROWN!
And still on the subject of noise....
Thanks to Nick Paget-Brown those selfish idiots from the Gulf and other states who think it clever to ruin the lives of residents face a backlash.
If we behaved in this way in their fly blown countries we would be locked up.
They shame their countries by their vulgar behaviour
Good work Nick

ALL PLANNING CONSENTS SHOULD BE GRANTED CONDITIONAL ON A CONSTRUCTION NOISE REDUCTION PLAN
"We propose that all future planning consent should be granted with a condition covering noise and nuisance: a Construction Noise Reduction Plan"
Loss of amenity is relevant to whether planning permission should be granted. The National Planning Guidance says clearly that construction noise is a relevant factor as to whether planning permission is granted.
Residents objecting to planning applications are routinely told that noise and nuisance cannot be considered in the decision-making process. This is incorrect. We suggest that the Council applies its own policies and follows the national guidance. "
Please sign this petition and show the Council that we want to be protected just as other residents are in other local authority area.

THE DAME TO REVEAL THE PAST OF LABOUR GROUP SEX BOMB
In her day The Dame was an
extremely hot number
turning the heads of many
gorgeous, rich and aristocratic suitors.
A FEMME FATALE |
But she has competition
within the Labour Group.
If you thought ardent
Labourites were dull, worthy and not interested in matters carnal you would be very wrong.
Let the Dame introduce you to
our very own local Labour sex pot, Cllr Pat Healy.
Pat may be the wrong side of
seventy five but on her history she deserves the accolade... “Femme Fatale:
Plus”.
Ludo, the Dame’s idiot grand
nephew, has been sent by the Dame to Selly Oak to see just how Pat measures up to
the Dame.....
Pat, in her youth, inspired fiery reactions.....
Ludo suggested that he
interview Cllr Pat but the Dame put her foot down.
With Cllr Pat’s reputation
for ‘Social Affairs’ the boy would not be safe....
More to follow......

BUSINESS FAILURE POOTER COCKELL TO LEAD BUSINESS GROWTH!
How does Sir Pooter Cockell do it?
A man with no education and nil success in business gets to be appointed chairman of the Crossrail 2 Growth Commission. Read about it HERE
Pooter's 'business' was a three man commodity broking operation sited in the basement below the Conservative Association offices.
Called Abingdom Cockell is ceased trading, never having turned a profit.
So then that Pooter decided to reinvent himself as a local government entrepreneur.
It's been a smart move.
He has managed to work the system so successfully his entire income of £140k a year income has been provided by taxpayers.
His sponging off the taxpayer is the stuff of legends...
Here is just one example DAILY MAIL
Those who know him remain mystified as to how this uneducated business failure could have got so far.
But the greatest irony of all is his appointment to the Growth Commission.
The only thing Pooter knows about business is based on his selling cigarettes in Africa!
No wonder local government is seen as a laughing stock when the likes of Pooter are seen to thrive.
Laughing all the way to the bank |

SCRAP RBK&C'S USELESS PR TEAM!
What on earth is the point of the Council's £450,000 a year PR department?
It only seems fit for producing the Royal Borer and nothing else judging by the hammering the Council received over the handling of the Sotello case(reported by the Dame in the previous post)
The solution is to do one of two things......
a. Scrap Fitzpatrick's useless little empire and retain proper external pr advisers
b. Merge it with H&F or Wandsworth.
It was quite incapable of putting the council's case-hence the mashing in all the national 'heavies'.

EDUCATION OFFICERS NEED TO GET SOME EDUCATION
It is the right of every parent to 'home school their children.
So the Dame was flabbergasted to read in the Evening Standard the council had spent tens of thousands of pounds on a legal action against Mrs Sortello.
Then, at the eleventh hour, decided to withdraw from the prosecution.
To rationalise its wastefulness it claimed it dropped the case as it had now been provided with the 'relevant information'. The Dame understands this is a downright lie and just a ruse to justify the reckless pursuit of a highly intelligent and committed mother.
One suspects that officers have just a bit too much time on their hands......
And, on that self same subject, the Dame thinks it a good idea for some officers in the 'soft' departments to be seconded to work in the wealth creating sector for six months.
One doubts they would last more than a day.
Read the story in the Standard HERE

ANOTHER UNENGAGING FATSO!
And talking of those with unengaging ways.....
Cllr Gerald Hargreaves has managed to wangle his way on to the Cabinet allowance payroll.
Cllr 'Major' Hargreaves is now paid over £30,000 a year as Cabinet member for Voluntary Organisations and Resident Engagement.
Whatever next: Cabinet member For Stray Dogs and Cats?
With his army pension Hargreaves is now 'in the money'.
Like Captain Mainwaring, Gerry never saw a shot fired in anger.
Well, you don't if in the Royal Army Education Corps.
Looking at the picture of Gerry minded the Dame of GK Chesterton.
During the Great War, he was offered a white rose and told. "you should be out at the Front".
Looking down at his protuberant belly GK replied, "Madam, I think I am already 'out at the front'."
Odd isn't it...one of the most disliked and affected of councillors works alongside an officer similarly deficient in the charm department.

DON'T CROSS REDPATH'S PATH!
The Dame likes the 'cut of the jib' of our highly remunerated director of Strategy and Local Engagement.
But why does a small local council need a strategy director?
Even more mystifying is the other part of Redpath's £130k a year brief...."Local Engagement".
What the hell is all that about?
Like the Dame, Redpath takes no prisoners.
Should any resident be insolent enough to cross him he can expect short shrift...a man after the old Dame's heart.
But why do we need to pay this huge salary for what seems a a non job?
The usual refrain from these types is they will defect to the private sector if we don't give them what they want
Utter nonsense....few of these officers have transferable skills(apart from the Director of Planning).
And that accounts for the fact there has never been a reported incident of the vibrant private sector poaching one of these over paid creatures.
When it comes to Local Engagement Mr Redpath tends to be very unengaging with local residents.
In fact, he knows how to put residents firmly in their place.
One resident at the recent 'Ask Nick' do in Brompton dared ask too many questions of the Leader on the red hot Crossrail 2 topic. He got a bit of a bollocking from 'you know who'.
We need more senior officers like Redpath...men who don't put up with snivelling, protesting residents.
Anyone would think we paid these officers' wages.......

SAVE MARLBOROUGH PRIMARY SCHOOL NOW HAS OVER 1500 PETITION SIGNATURES
The organisers of the Save Marlborough Primary School now have over 1500 electronic and paper signatures.
Time to call a halt to this vandalistic action.
Replacing an architecturally outstanding Victorian school with offices and super luxury flats for overseas buy to leave speculators is not what we want.
Please keep the pressure up....please sign and get friends to do so.

WHY SHOULD WE PAY?
The years roll on and millions roll out.
The total cost of arresting Julian Assange-should he decide to leave the Embassy of Ecudor, is reaching £7 million.
The Met directly bears this and, in consequence, the poor old London taxpayer.
The bill should be picked up by the Swedish Government or our own....or split between them.
But, it's not just the cost.
It means valuable police resources are being diverted from our streets.
More ludicrous still is the fact that these are experienced and expensive officers from the Diplomatic Patrol Group.
The Dame, enjoying a stroll past the embassy, asked one what they could do if a high powered motor bike drove up and carried off Assange....with a smile he retorted, "Nothing- and that is a very good idea"
Time for the Borough Commander to do some of what she calls her 'straight talking'.

SAVE THIS INTRINSIC PART OF CHELSEA LIFE |
WE WILL BE HOLDING A PEACEFUL PROTEST OUTSIDE PETER JONES ON TUESDAY 7TH JULY, 4.30-5.00PM
We are getting closer to reaching the 1500 signatures we need in order to generate a full council meeting.
Just 200 more signatures and we will be there!

Marlborough School is a Victorian landmark in Chelsea. Locals are devastated that the council has decided to demolish this beautiful building instead of updating the school from within as originally pla . nned.
English Heritage received representations against listing Marlborough from the local authority and the developers.
The council wishes to downsize the school plot to build offices and shops for revenue.
The building of the school and shops/offices was part of a deal agreed with John Lewis in exchange for not including ANY affordable housing on their Clearings development.
The Clearings development has now been sold by John Lewis to McGrove, a company purportedly funded by Mike Ashley of Sports Direct.

'PROFESSOR' COLERIDGE ON MANOEUVRES........
A resident association, close to Sutton Dwellings, pleaded with Tim Coleridge to include it within the Conservation Area....after all, the world renowned architectural academic, Professor Landow, described them in the following way:" Looking at the Sutton Dwellings in Chelsea suggests an additional point of some importance: the housing created by such philanthropic trusts turns out — in both architectural and human terms — to be far more successful that most later council housing. These buildings fit in very well with the Norman Shaw-built and inspired buildings of Chelsea and Kensington."
It's clear 'Professor' Coleridge disagrees with Professor Landow and the 11,000 residents who petitioned to save this remarkable piece of interesting, old and fast disappearing Chelsea.
Coleridge has already signed off plans to lay waste to the much praised and loved Malborough Primary School.
The Dame will soon explain why, all those months back, Cllr Coleridge refused to protect Sutton Dwellings.
It's all rather squalid....

ONE RULE FOR OMAN'S MAN.....
Every year we taxpayers allow councillors to spend thousands of pounds entertaining the Borough's diplomatic corps. It's a real opportunity for a lot of nonentities to feel they are playing on the world stage. The problem is this.....
Whereas the first ranking embassies are based in Belgravia K&C tends to host the more-how can one politely put this-well, the one's not taken very seriously, or seriously corrupt.
Obviously, at this year's reception the Omani ambassador managed to have a private word about his requirements.
Or that would seem the case having READ this very strange tale in the Standard.
Time the Council stopped this nonsense and left entertaining diplomats to the FO.

EXFORD FACES TWO DIRECTIONS SIMULTANEOUSLY!
We wouldn't want to accuse him of being a disingenuous hypocritical opportunist but Keith Exford, the man who wants to sell off huge chunks of the Sutton Estate Chelsea to overseas investors for millions, complains the Government is trying to force him to sell tenants their own properties.
So, it's acceptable to sell-off your historic legacy stock to overseas investors but not to hard working tenants?
