COUNCIL SPOKESMAN SAYS JOURNO'S START PUNCH-UPS!

A HACK
Newgate are a highly respected and very expensive corporate and financial public relations consultancy so is their client listening to them?

To describe 'gentlemen and ladies of the press' as potential trouble makers seems a good start to winning friends and influencing people! LINK TO ARTICLE and link to the aborted meeting LINK

It's difficult to believe a smooth operator from Newgate would make such a claim so it must have been one of hopeless in-house people.

  2. And still our leaders make us look like a bunch of cunts. I wouldn't want to be one of the council officers working with the victims. The elected classes are making their jobs more difficult than they should be when providing support to victims and those affected.

It's precisely these sorts of actions that continued to fracture the council's relationship with it's constituents. Not everyone get's to stand behind the hired help of Amey.

This all sounds highly irregular --- do they all have something to hide? -- the entire council should be suspended -- it's a swirling cesspit of venal vipers -- for too long the controlling Conservatives have regarded it as their private fiefdom -- end their entitlement !!

Bunch of cheap shysters.... the next time they hear from a judge it should be from a dock ....

    2. Despite recent appalling events, there's nothing new in RBKC claiming public intimidation. More than a decade ago some 200 middle class N. Kensington residents went to the Town Hall over a damaging development. Journalists and the Beeb were in attendance. They found the building surrounded by security men wielding metal detectors. The Chairman claimed RBKC had received online bomb threats. Residents scornfully howled him down. Then the damaging project continued on its way through the planning system.

  4. What a bunch of headless chickens. Private but disorderly cabinet meetings; expensive external PR (on top of the existing internal facilities); failure to face responsibilities and all at the hapless council taxpayers' expense. Time for the entire cabinet to resign, and for the relevant ministers to send in commissioners to take over pro tem. The longer it takes the more these eejits will screw up and, more importantly, blur the tracks leading right up to the Grenfell disaster.

  6. I can wholeheartedly recommend the latest issue of Private Eye to anyone who wishes to see in print just what the Council's tenants and leaseholders have had to put up with all these years.

The double page spread on pages 5 and 6 is particularly noteworthy and completely accurate, however much the Council and TMO might wish it not to be so.

This rotten borough is slowly decomposing and now everyone can smell it, not just those forced to put up with it.

  8. All that matters is power. Mrs May is demonstrating that: hold on my ANY means necessary. NPB and Hole in the Head Mellen just have to endure, with frequent distractions like good food, a soft bed, second and third homes to escape to, holidays, no fears about paying the bills or any fears at all other than not being in power. Even if they do lose power they'll find other saps to take them on so they can maintain some semblance of meaning in their worthless lives.

    1. On national television last night I recognised Cllrs Freeman and Moylan looking ridiculous, bemused and diminished at the Cabinet meeting that was "cancelled". While Cllr Paget-Brown babelled "I have been advised that we cannot discuss this".

      Cannot discuss Grenfell Tower??????????

The Office of Leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is occupied by a person who is totally out of his depth. A person who is not a Leader. A nice and well meaning man, but hopeless in this position. Paget-Brown does not "get it".

It is time for the Tory Party to step in and insist on the resignation of the whole Cabinet. They have been given more than enough rope to hang themselves. This obscure little Borough has brought national disgrace to the whole Conservative Party

  9. The only person with public credibility and command of the situation, at the disastrous Cabinet meeting last night was the Leader of the Labour Party, Cllr Robert Atkinson. His comments and performance chimed precisely with the public mood.

A sad day for democracy when the Press have to take out an injunction to force their presence at a public meeting. A publicly funded meeting. What on earth do the Tory chumps think they are up to?

You are not fit for purpose , you have let the Conservative Party down and the whole cabinet need to leave their posts now. 15. It's alway's been alleged that the Council has been corrupt for years. Why are this lot allowed to wield any sort of power or influence over any decision to do with Grenfell, surely until the culprits are brought to justice, then aren't they all under suspicion . Its not right that they can swan round the Council offices when a crime of this magnitude has occurred. Then to have the temerity to ban the victims from the very meeting that the residents are crying out for . People wan't answers , not carefully scripted answers to save their ' necks form the noose '.

They will string this one out for years, so by then the perpetrators will have retired, died off or have will have gone doolally . If the Tory Council can't even conduct a simple meeting, how can we expect them to deal with the fallout from Grenfell. Watching them is cringe-able, go for god sake man - GO.

The most disgusting spectacle one has ever seen. He's doing a Uriah Heap impersonation. As a humble back bencher etc, with no responsibility for the current situation. Apparently he's trembling with his deep emotion for the Council's shame. His act is so disgusting, even under the current appalling circumstances, he manages to make NPG at least look earnest. Beware Moylan! He means to take over; to take over RBKC; over the dead of Grenfell!

    4. Very interesting "entertainment declaration" from Moylan. What stands out is the enormous number of times he has been entertained by Terrapin - the PR people.

      TERRAPIN CRISIS

      The handling of
a crisis situation can make or break a company's reputation.
The point about crises is that they are unpredictable. This doesn’t mean that you can’t be prepared for when they happen. The handling of a crisis situation can make or break a company’s reputation.

Handling a crisis needs wise heads and a calm temperament. The understanding of the pressures on a Management Team and the pressures on deadline driven Newshounds. The key is detailed planning and a detailed understanding of what and what not to do in the immediate aftermath of the story breaking. At Terrapin we’ve had experience on both sides of the divide.

Terrapin Crisis Management provides the following services:

      Crisis Manuals
      On the day assistance
      Crisis Analysis & Training
Terrapin Crisis Management understands the importance of not panicking…

    5. Did Moylan know something that Grenfell residents weren't privy to? e.g. fire crisis
Why suddenly take an interest in crisis management?
He's only started to see TC since summer 2016.
TMO was forewarned of fire danger by GAG but surely it would have been more appropriate to remedy such thing beforehand than start consulting with a crisis management company which would have been useful if/when fire did occurr.

  35. Moylan is a far greater danger to the residents of RBKC than even the complacent NPG. Moylan abused residents, colleagues and officers for years when running RBKC Planning. He wasted millions tarting up Kensington High Street and £40 million on political-prisoner hewn Chinese granite setts on Exhibitionist Road. He publicly criticised Prince Charles' taste in architectural detail on Kensington Palace. Boris sent him off to dream of building an airport in the Thames Estuary. Then he got the job of organising the post-games heritage of the Olympic Park. No one could work for him to the extent that after a fortnight, he left that job too. Etc.

    2. For once, I feel the need to moderate the Dame.

Cllr Moylan went public today and criticised his Tory Cabinet. An act of bravery. He was prepared to do what all the other Conservative Councillors are thinking but are too timid to say in public.

Thanks to the Dame and her Hornets, Moylan has been exposed for what he is. There are no surprises left. If he steps out of line the Dame and her Hornets will be down on him like a ton of bricks. Certainly, he will be watched like a hawk. And if he steps out of line, Tory Councillors have the power to get rid of him. But they will need to be prepared to act in future like they have never done before. They will need to be prepared to behave with honour, concern for residents and Officers - and not be the self seeking Turkeys that is the fashion of our current Council.

Tories also need to be wary of the threat to this Conservative Council. The Conservative MP (a great individual) has already been swept away by an angry and disaffected electorate. The Conservative Council could be next.

The Tories need a giant of a man or woman to stop the ship from sinking. Moylan could be that person. Conservative Councillors should take courage from the fact that they can be shot of him if he becomes unbearable.

Moylan has had some hard knocks in the last few years since he lost to Paget-Brown in a narrow race for the Leadrship. Let us hope he has learned some lessons and matured.
