COUNCIL SPOKESMAN SAYS JOURNO'S START PUNCH-UPS!

A HACK |
Newgate are a highly respected and very expensive corporate and financial public relations consultancy so is their client listening to them?
To describe 'gentlemen and ladies of the press' as potential trouble makers seems a good start to winning friends and influencing people! LINK TO ARTICLE and link to the aborted meeting LINK
It's difficult to believe a smooth operator from Newgate would make such a claim so it must have been one of hopeless in-house people.
Dame Watch the video of the meeting

Rocky tries to leg it. Was that Cllr Freeman in the background near the end of the video?
Insufferable arrogance
DeleteThe reason why they wanted a secret meeting... a cat is out of the bag.

20.38 Anon. Perhaps Rocky can find a new job in the British Olympic Sprint Team .
DeleteAnd still our leaders make us look like a bunch of cunts. I wouldn't want to be one of the council officers working with the victims. The elected classes are making their jobs more difficult than they should be when providing support to victims and those affected.
ReplyDeleteIt's precisely these sorts of actions that continued to fracture the council's relationship with it's constituents. Not everyone get's to stand behind the hired help of Amey.
Kensington & Chelsea Tory leader walks out of council meeting after judge orders it can't be held in private without media #GrenfellTower
ReplyDeleteThis all sounds highly irregular --- do they all have something to hide? -- the entire council should be suspended -- it's a swirling cesspit of venal vipers -- for too long the controlling Conservatives have regarded it as their private fiefdom -- end their entitlement !!
Bunch of cheap shysters.... the next time they hear from a judge it should be from a dock ....
What a bunch of pricks
DeleteHave they no shame? Why are they hanging on?
Dead men walking
Despite recent appalling events, there's nothing new in RBKC claiming public intimidation. More than a decade ago some 200 middle class N. Kensington residents went to the Town Hall over a damaging development. Journalists and the Beeb were in attendance. They found the building surrounded by security men wielding metal detectors. The Chairman claimed RBKC had received online bomb threats. Residents scornfully howled him down. Then the damaging project continued on its way through the planning system.
DeleteThey are trying to cover stuff up .
DeleteWhat a bunch of headless chickens. Private but disorderly cabinet meetings; expensive external PR (on top of the existing internal facilities); failure to face responsibilities and all at the hapless council taxpayers' expense. Time for the entire cabinet to resign, and for the relevant ministers to send in commissioners to take over pro tem. The longer it takes the more these eejits will screw up and, more importantly, blur the tracks leading right up to the Grenfell disaster.
ReplyDelete"We will make minutes of the meeting available afterwards"
ReplyDeleteAll residents know about the Council minutes of meetings......
I can wholeheartedly recommend the latest issue of Private Eye to anyone who wishes to see in print just what the Council's tenants and leaseholders have had to put up with all these years.
ReplyDeleteThe double page spread on pages 5 and 6 is particularly noteworthy and completely accurate, however much the Council and TMO might wish it not to be so.
This rotten borough is slowly decomposing and now everyone can smell it, not just those forced to put up with it.
Thanks. Will have a loook.

Anon 22.43 - Tip of the Iceberg .
DeleteThey have lost it why haven't the Government appointed a commissioner. The Leader Deputy Leader and Cabinet should resign or be forced out by petition or the Government, Dame do something Atkinson cannot do it on his own.
ReplyDeleteAll that matters is power. Mrs May is demonstrating that: hold on my ANY means necessary. NPB and Hole in the Head Mellen just have to endure, with frequent distractions like good food, a soft bed, second and third homes to escape to, holidays, no fears about paying the bills or any fears at all other than not being in power. Even if they do lose power they'll find other saps to take them on so they can maintain some semblance of meaning in their worthless lives.
ReplyDeleteOn national television last night I recognised Cllrs Freeman and Moylan looking ridiculous, bemused and diminished at the Cabinet meeting that was "cancelled". While Cllr Paget-Brown babelled "I have been advised that we cannot discuss this".
DeleteCannot discuss Grenfell Tower??????????
The Office of Leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is occupied by a person who is totally out of his depth. A person who is not a Leader. A nice and well meaning man, but hopeless in this position. Paget-Brown does not "get it".
It is time for the Tory Party to step in and insist on the resignation of the whole Cabinet. They have been given more than enough rope to hang themselves. This obscure little Borough has brought national disgrace to the whole Conservative Party
DeleteThe only person with public credibility and command of the situation, at the disastrous Cabinet meeting last night was the Leader of the Labour Party, Cllr Robert Atkinson. His comments and performance chimed precisely with the public mood.
ReplyDeleteA sad day for democracy when the Press have to take out an injunction to force their presence at a public meeting. A publicly funded meeting. What on earth do the Tory chumps think they are up to?
Trying to hang on to power.......
Standing Orders empower the Chairman of the Kensington Conservative Association, Cllr Julie Mills, to remove the Leader of the Council if he or she brings the Conservative Party into disrepute.
ReplyDeleteWell what is she waiting for ?
DeleteDon't they get it .
ReplyDeleteClearly inept and out of their depth . No humanity, no remorse, no self respect, no respect for victims, no respect for social housing tenants, no respect for the offices they hold at RBKC , a complete bunch of nincompoops. This is the group that have overseen the running down of Council services, whilst squandering money on fripperies like Holland Park , will the Opera singing drown out the cries of burning residents at Grenfell? You are not fit for purpose , you have let the Conservative Party down and the whole cabinet need to leave their posts now. For the record you are the worst Conservative Council ever to Grace the doors of RBKC . Its time to go .
ReplyDeleteLet them eat cake .....
ReplyDeleteNot exactly transparent and open is it . How come Councillors can have a meeting and those they represent aren't allowed to hear what they are saying .
ReplyDeleteIt's alway's been alleged that the Council has been corrupt for years. Why are this lot allowed to wield any sort of power or influence over any decision to do with Grenfell, surely until the culprits are brought to justice, then aren't they all under suspicion . Its not right that they can swan round the Council offices when a crime of this magnitude has occurred. Then to have the temerity to ban the victims from the very meeting that the residents are crying out for . People wan't answers , not carefully scripted answers to save their ' necks form the noose '.
ReplyDeleteWe better get ready with the Private Prosecutions. Completely the wrong Judge to oversee the Public Enquiry. Cover up in process. They will string this one out for years, so by then the perpetrators will have retired, died off or have will have gone doolally . If the Tory Council can't even conduct a simple meeting, how can we expect them to deal with the fallout from Grenfell. Watching them is cringe-able, go for god sake man - GO.
ReplyDeleteIt took 25 years for the football inquiry to produce a result. The intentions of Kensington Council are crystal clear - even at this sensitive time, the name of the game is "exclude the public and the press".
DeleteLet us say, "not this time!"
DeleteWE have learned a lesson from Hillsbrough, Child abuse cases, we won't let them play the same game as if we are clueless. We can smell the cessipit.
A petition asking for "the immediate resignation of the full cabinet of RBKC" has been started. See on
ReplyDeletehttps://www.change.org/p/rbkc-council-we-the-undersigned-demand-the-immediate-resignation-of-the-full-cabinet-of-rbkc
I have signed it, as a K&C resident and TMO tenant.
The petition is too broad. Cabinet resign? Agree
DeleteBut all the other stuff as well eg stop development, review planning etc etc
massive loss of focus......
Well done. So have I.
ReplyDeleteIt defies belief that these turkeys still hang on to power
ReplyDeleteCllr Moylan is briefing against Cllr Paget-Brown
ReplyDeleteMoylan is a frustrated old bitch who briefs against all and everyone.
DeleteSounds like one frustrated old bitch talking about another frustrated old bitch
DeleteDowning Street have rebuked these monsters. Will they go? What will shame them to creep away? Anything? ANYTHING?
ReplyDeleteAs Paget Brown ignored a Court Order last night shouldn't he be Nicked.
ReplyDeleteHe did not ignore the Court Order. He cancelled the meeting. This is contempt towards the Courts, the residents, democracy and the press. Lets hope the media crucify him over the weekend.
DeleteNick claims to have cancelled the meeting on the basis of some very incorrect legal advice. He's either employing the TMO standard equivalent of the legal profession or he's telling porkies (again).
DeleteHow come Piggy is so red .
ReplyDeleteIt has now been pointed out by numerous legal professionals that it is impossible to prejudice a judge-led public enquiry by holding a Council meeting. Which suggests that the Council are either wasting tax payer's money on some very poor legal advice or that Nick and co. are quite simply dishonest. Whatever the case they should all just go. They're clearly not up to job of running a bath let alone a local authority.
ReplyDeleteHow rotten is the rotten borough? Very! -
ReplyDeletehttps://grenfellactiongroup.wordpress.com/2016/05/16/rbkc-declines-to-investigate-rock-feilding-mellen/
Anywhere else this would be considered a sure sign of corruption in high places. But in RBK&C it must just be some kind of mistake ...
It's the fault of the 'residents ' according to Nick .
ReplyDeleteP.666 from the Manual
DeleteIf you are in deep trouble, point your finger in the other direction. If you are really desperate, make up a story, it might stick.
Does anyone know when the next 'Ask Nick ' is to be held . I suspect it will be better attended than when Chelsea won the League at Stamford Bridge.
ReplyDeleteMore ' Nick Nick' than 'Ask Nick '.
ReplyDeleteSee BBC TV News. The monumentally self-serving and utterly disgusting Moylan has just crawled out from under his stone to publicly knife Paget Brown in the back. The most disgusting spectacle one has ever seen. He's doing a Uriah Heap impersonation. As a humble back bencher etc, with no responsibility for the current situation. Apparently he's trembling with his deep emotion for the Council's shame. His act is so disgusting, even under the current appalling circumstances, he manages to make NPG at least look earnest. Beware Moylan! He means to take over; to take over RBKC; over the dead of Grenfell!
ReplyDeleteHurrah!
DeleteMoylan Beware.
DeleteMoylan is going on LBC 7pm to speak to his dinner date Andrew Pierce. Very pally. Calling Moylan "Leading Tory Cllr" he's a leading something!

Very interesting "entertainment declaration" from Moylan. What stands out is the enormous number of times he has been entertained by Terrapin - the PR people.
DeleteTERRAPIN CRISIS
The handling of
a crisis situation can make or break a company's reputation.
The point about crises is that they are unpredictable. This doesn’t mean that you can’t be prepared for when they happen. The handling of a crisis situation can make or break a company’s reputation.
Handling a crisis needs wise heads and a calm temperament. The understanding of the pressures on a Management Team and the pressures on deadline driven Newshounds. The key is detailed planning and a detailed understanding of what and what not to do in the immediate aftermath of the story breaking. At Terrapin we’ve had experience on both sides of the divide.
Terrapin Crisis Management provides the following services:
Crisis Manuals
On the day assistance
Crisis Analysis & Training
Terrapin Crisis Management understands the importance of not panicking…
Did Moylan know something that Grenfell residents weren't privy to? e.g. fire crisis
DeleteWhy suddenly take an interest in crisis management?
He's only started to see TC since summer 2016.
TMO was forewarned of fire danger by GAG but surely it would have been more appropriate to remedy such thing beforehand than start consulting with a crisis management company which would have been useful if/when fire did occurr.
No more Conservative led Councils in RBKC.
ReplyDeleteall already said above. Granfell=Hillsboro.... The QC helping Grenfell should be more direct and get the ball moving. As for P-G on TV, arrogant, amoral, spineless and emotionally bankrupt...
ReplyDeleteThe local Tory party should now act, as apparently they can - so get a move on.....
Black is dust.
ReplyDeleteIs Paget- Brown the new 'Black '?
ReplyDeleteLatest on Grenfell on skynews today.
ReplyDeletehttps://youtu.be/k8LoLqtEnGk
Moylan is a far greater danger to the residents of RBKC than even the complacent NPG. Moylan abused residents, colleagues and officers for years when running RBKC Planning. He wasted millions tarting up Kensington High Street and £40 million on political-prisoner hewn Chinese granite setts on Exhibitionist Road. He publicly criticised Prince Charles' taste in architectural detail on Kensington Palace. Boris sent him off to dream of building an airport in the Thames Estuary. Then he got the job of organising the post-games heritage of the Olympic Park. No one could work for him to the extent that after a fortnight, he left that job too. Etc.
ReplyDeleteTMO Black gone! https://www.ft.com/content/06aaa0d0-5d7e-11e7-9bc8-8055f264aa8b
ReplyDeleteI didn't think things could get worse, but obviously they can if there is a chance that Moylan takes over.
ReplyDeleteHope not, really bricking it.
DeleteIt's a shame, Paget Brown had ample opportunity to turn things around long before Grenfell happened. Moylan would be the worst thing for residents especially for the Grenfell residents.
Hear that residents surrounding the tower have had no hot water and gas for cooking. It like being in a third world country.
For once, I feel the need to moderate the Dame.
DeleteCllr Moylan went public today and criticised his Tory Cabinet. An act of bravery. He was prepared to do what all the other Conservative Councillors are thinking but are too timid to say in public.
Thanks to the Dame and her Hornets, Moylan has been exposed for what he is. There are no surprises left. If he steps out of line the Dame and her Hornets will be down on him like a ton of bricks. Certainly, he will be watched like a hawk. And if he steps out of line, Tory Councillors have the power to get rid of him. But they will need to be prepared to act in future like they have never done before. They will need to be prepared to behave with honour, concern for residents and Officers - and not be the self seeking Turkeys that is the fashion of our current Council.
Tories also need to be wary of the threat to this Conservative Council. The Conservative MP (a great individual) has already been swept away by an angry and disaffected electorate. The Conservative Council could be next.
The Tories need a giant of a man or woman to stop the ship from sinking. Moylan could be that person. Conservative Councillors should take courage from the fact that they can be shot of him if he becomes unbearable.
Moylan has had some hard knocks in the last few years since he lost to Paget-Brown in a narrow race for the Leadrship. Let us hope he has learned some lessons and matured.
Now Paget Brown has resigned! Shit!
ReplyDeleteThe rest of the Cabinet need to pack their bags too. Each one of them needs to understand that the whole beehive is swarming and will continue to deliver stings until they all do the right thing and resign.
Deletethey should all follow dear piggie and resign - now and get a new Council/Cabinet elected.... perhaps with a new agenda and with a serious undertaking to reducing the number of people on the Housing List and in temporary accommodation by spending more or affordable/social housing instead of collecting bulging brown envelopes from dodgy developers, who have no intent on reducing the percentage of LUXURY apartments in their developments.
ReplyDeleteNow that Sadiq Khan wants Commissioners to take over running of the Council until next year's elections what will happen too all those suspect planning applications? ie Orangerie and others?
