The Dame has picked this very pertinent comment out concerning the dreadful Read
"It is inconceivable that Stanley Ward is considering ex Cllr Read as their shoe in for disgraced ex Leader Pooter Cockle. This guy is an opportunist. Last week he stood against Cllr Mills to become the new Chairman of the Conservative Association. The first job of the new Chairman is to oversee the totally unexpected and surprise appointment of a new Parliamentary candidate for Kensington, following the resignation of Sir Malcolm Rifkind. At the Association AGM all those present who intended to put their names forward as a replacement for Sir Malcolm were asked to absent themselves from the discussion of the election arrangements. Read was one of those who left the room - while still standing for Chairmanship of the Association!
If Read had been elected Chairman he would have had to stand down immediately since he would have been conflicted by his decision to stand in parallel for Westminster. He did not have the decency and common sense to withdraw his bid to be Chairman. Sheer selfishness and hypocrisy.
Not a worthy person to represent the residents of Stanley"
Shabby behaviour, so typical of the rotten borough.
ReplyDeleteAmazing
ReplyDeleteGoing after Stanley Ward and Kensington MP in parallel! Serial pursuit.
ReplyDeleteChild in a tuck shop
DeleteDoes anyone know who would be a good candidate here? Any former Councillors. Hard working local Conservative activists?
ReplyDeleteStanley needs a strong Independent Candidate. The turnout at local by elections is tiny. If Andrew Barshall gets his supporters in line he will be elected as an Independent local Councillor. As a sole voice in the chamber he could be a tremendous irritant for good and would have great support from Labour.
DeleteWhich ward is Moylan?
ReplyDeleteMoylan is Queensgate Ward.
DeleteDon't touch him, Stanley. You will get a nasty shock.
DeleteLet's not forget this is the same charming ex-Cllr Jonathon P Read who in 2012 (in response to a circular on the initiation of the basements review) pushed back with "no doubt that your email will result in glowing paeons from the usual kneejerk older residents and RA’s, but I must assure you that they are in no way representative of our entire population, and we shame ourselves by our slavish attention to the protestations of this minority.
ReplyDeleteOur planning and housing policies are past their expiry date, and represent the view of a gerontocracy: they must, and will, change or we shall atrophy.". (http://fromthehornetsnest.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/anti-basement-residents-and-resident.html)
No wonder he never made it far at Goldman. Stanley beware.
His mum was doing a basement dig. Bit of family support always comes in useful
DeleteNot one of God's people then
Deleteex Cllr Read loves the sound of his own voice. Absolutely adores barnstorming at Council meetings. His once a month "ultimate high" which he misses dreadfully since being kicked out of Earls Court. He cant wait to get back. Or even better, the House of Commons. That would be the "ultimate, ultimate".
ReplyDeleteJonathon better concentrate on Stanley Ward. The Speaker of the Commons would never call him to speak. And he most certainly would NOT be given a Government brief. And even in the Hornton Street chamber it is doubtful that Cllr Paget-Brown (the current Conservative Leader) would favour him in the same way that Pooter did.
DeleteWhy was Pooter fixated about Read?
Man Love...that dare not speak its name?
ReplyDeletePooter was fixated with disgraced ex Cllr Phelps too
DeleteHe is a confused chap. Wife, children, boyfriend, boys.....
Deleteall the infamous emails
DeleteRead is a dangerous orator.
ReplyDeleteWhen Labour tabled a motion to scrap the 12 MPG Bentley in favour of a 96 MPG Toyota Prius, Cllr Read opposed the motion for the Tories and convinced his sad Tory colleagues that the Bentley was more environmentally friendly than the Prius. They were all shouting from the rooftops and Pooter nearly fell off his chair with glee.
Why would Stanley residents choose to recycle Earl's Court's unwanted rubbish?
ReplyDeleteex-Cllr Read and ex-Cllr. Terence Buxton were one of the major reasons Earl's Court Exhibition Centre is being demolished they would not help residents; only to be replaced by Cllr Inane & Cllr Sbalding. The only Cllr that has done anything about this is Cllr Wade.
ReplyDeleteHope Stanley Ward will have an opportunity to vote in one of the independent locals Andrew Balshall, Heinz Schumi or Ian Henderson. Lib Dems and Labour should not put anyone forward allow an independent to hopefully get more votes than Cons.
