THE SOLECISM OF SOL

Sol Campbell is a footballer and clearly, from all the property he has amassed, a good one.
But his quote to Guido provides the very reason why these sporting celebrities should stick to their games and leave politics alone.

He can't even get the name of the constituency right!

    1. Silly Sol. Immature boy. His celeb trip to No 10 went to his head. Big time.

    1. What matters is that the serious business of finding a Member of Parliament for Kensington has degenerated into a farce. A farce perpetuated by Central Office, tolerated by the Kensington Conservative Association, and silly celebs who know not the first thing about democracy playing the principal parts

  3. Says it all. Kensington's election reduced to celeb gossip

  4. Incredible how a £500k per week first Division footballer shakes the hand of David Cameron, gets a nudge, and decides to be an MP. Not an ounce of public service in his bones - just boundless ego. He has a trip to Newcastle fixed in his Bentley so announces to the media that he "will not be standing n Kensington this time". So now we know.

    This farce is no different from the worst sort of Old Etonian dinner chat from chumps who like to impress their friends. "I think I will have a crack at PM!" What a gas.

    1. Someone needs to write down on a piece of paper what kind of person Kensington wants as their next MP. Something like:
      * local person
      * public service record in Kensington
      * well thought of by residents
      * gets things done
      * empathy with people

      It is not rocket science. Not even for the Conservative Association

  5. Rubbish. We want an MP who can turn heads at garden parties and get invited to appear on TV and radio. And regular appearances in the gossip columns and Tatler also good for the "feel" of Kenisngton.
