  1. We must support this campaign. It's about far more than the fate of a few square metres of dreary space under the Westway. Lurking behind this unworkable plan is the Council. The commercial failure of this project is inevitable. So the banks will call in their loans. Then the land will be flogged off to private investors. Yet more lower income families will lose their livelihoods and their homes. The resulting empty spaces under the Westway will make excellent garaging for Holland Park's excess of super cars, with or without chauffeurs.

  2. Maxilla Nursery, way out of sight and out of mind, is at the other end of the Westway and is being conveniently merged ie moved to Golborne. The Stables, despite their reprieve, cannot fight against a culture that demands corporate responses and prefers backhanders.

Westway Trust has a long history of intimidation and bad practice

  5. Thank you. There's huge opposition to these plans, both local and otherwise. The Westway Trust seems shocked by the hornet's nest it's aroused. This response indicates the depths of the Trust's ignorance of the communities it purports to serve.

  6. The 38 Degrees petition already has over 10,000 signatures against the development. This is remarkable in only about a week. People care a great deal about the future of Portobello and Golbourne Markets and their local communities.

  7. Apparently without local consultation or knowledge, the Trust recently changed its remit from that of a charity addressing local community issues, to one addressing the requirements of London Councils. This doubtless explains its wish to destroy everything it's supposed to stand for. Yet another scandal in the rottenest of rotten boroughs.

    1. A slightly unfair jibe at the expense of the Dame. She cannot check all announcements of this nature. That was the detail provided to her.

    1. Another twit who would burst into flames if he got off the tube at Ladbroke Grove.

You do know how to use the tube, don't you?

  10. Apparently the portacabin on stilts has been put in to deflect criticism from other parts of the plan. The Trust will withdraw this and look as though it has listened to residents. The rest of the plan will remain, including top flight flats for foreign investors to pay for the development.
