It seems an age ago when our councillors flung money at every daft scheme from spending millions on Opera Holland Park to the death trap Exhibitionist Road.
A White Elephant and some wallies |
And we can never forget Dizzy Lizzy Campbell suggesting that Holland Park School cost nothing to build!
Cllr Moylan ironically suggested getting a mechanical elephant for the opening perceptively recognising the Road was a white elephant
POMPOSITY INCARNATE
ReplyDelete£30 million of council tax spent on this frippery, including pink granite imported from China to give a "beautiful effect".
ReplyDeleteOutrageous. Councillors behaving like Victorian philanthropists with tax payers money.
The 'beautiful' granite is now filthy, covered with tarmac patches and the posts to stop cars driving on the pavement have all been knocked down and can't be quickly replaced as they come from the Czech Republic with a 6-9month lead time....great planning there K&C....Please can we have a normal road back?
ReplyDeleteRBKC is in meltdown, it is simply not fit for purpose.
ReplyDeleteCouncillors should be culpable for their idiotic ideas and waste of tax payers money.
Indeed. Not only RBKC is in meltdown, but also the glorious TMO. It is a mess. The Council voted to cancel the contract, but I understand that 'The contract has not been cancelled as yet. There are huge legal obstacles to cross first. I am afraid the MMA is so convoluted that huge teams of lawyers are likely to make enormous profits from untangling it.'
DeleteRe TMO: so many people have disappeared over the horizon. TMO is hiring self-employed tradesmen from all over London to do mundane day to day repairs. One tradesman told me that he would be very happy if you could get the same jobs South of the River.
DeleteRepairs reported many days ago are still unfilled.
Moylan encouraged outrageous designs, the architects coined their fees and in return gave him an Architectural Award for excellence.
ReplyDeleteScratch my back and I will scratch yours.
Wankers
that's should they have anything worth while to &ank.
