ROBERT BLACK TO SORT OUT EX LORD JUSTICE OF APPEAL!

Dear Dame,

Distinguished
for his
hopelessness
I have, on occasions, written to Robert Black, Chief Executive of Kensington and Chelsea TMO, to bring to his attention the way in which the TMO treated me. Instead of doing something to improve the situation, he just passed my letters to those members of his staff who were responsible for the appalling situations of which I was complaining.
I cannot believe the effrontery of the same Robert Black who had the cheek to announce just days after eighty people burned to death in Grenfell Tower that he was standing down from his position as  TMO Chief Executive to devote his time to "assisting the Enquiry" in to the most dreadful social housing disaster in the history of this Country.
Why has Black changed the habit of a lifetime and personally concerned himself with assisting the Grenfell Tower Enquiry when he did not personally concern himself with any of the matters that I, and many others,  brought to his personal attention?

Does the inadequate Robert Black think he can micromanage every issue regarding the TMO's failure to manage Grenfell Tower.

Does Robert Black, a former Art Student,  think he has the skill to paint a glossy picture of the failing Organisation that he has run since 2009?

How can a former Art Student from Aberdeen possibly assist the very capable and brilliant former Lord Justice of Appeal in Ordinary?
Distinguished for his
brilliance

    Dear Dame,

Your correspondent is on the money. Black is being paid his excessive salary for "Assisting the Enquiry." Shame he did not assist the Grenfell Action Group.

  3. Cllr Elizabeth Campbell, Leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, does not understand that she needs to fire Black. If he wants to sue for wrongful dismissal, let him.

This worthless Leader of the Borough does not have the first clue about Leadership, politics and natural justice. She is a wally.

    1. There is already a rent holiday in operation. The cumulative bill for Council Tax payers is mounting up to a horrendous sum of money. Rent holiday; £200 million on new houses; £ millions service charges for the new luxury flats; hotel accommodation for victims; £ millions legal cost.

There is also some doubt about buildings insurance. The Council went with a cheapy outfit that went bust to insure Grenfell. Spending priorities lay elsewhere eg £1 million per year for Holland Park Opera, £30 million to tart up Exhibition Road, £100 million to rebuild Holland Park School (including £100k Anthony Gormley sculpture). £50k per year for Arabic Exhibitions...... The list goes on and on.

Council Tax payers need to rise up and boot out the Tory imposters in the Town Hall who have lost sight of Conservative values.

    2. @22:40 good idea!

    3. 10.31 A rent strike is different to the rent holiday.

Councillor Emma Dent Coad MP should support the rent strike because it is a splendid example of change being demanded from below and not imposed from above. If she is any sort of Socialist she should support the Rent Strike so that Robert Black can be shown the door.

  10. I expect Robert Black will now swiftly leave the TMO with a very healthy redundancy and pension package (paid for by tenants' rents and leaseholders' service charges). If he waits until the Council takes it over, he will just get the bog standard statutory redundancy payment. His big problem was that once he had hired his overpaid executive team, he just delegated everything to them to deal with and sat back to do very little. So he didn't really have the remotest idea what was going on.

  11. It doesn't matter whether he resign or not now. The matter of the fact is that what is done is done and his-story of crime he committed will follow him around which he cannot escape from. 23.18. What rubbish! 80+ people dead and those responsible are still drawing their excessive salaries and building up their gold plated pensions. If any of them had a shred of decency they would have resigned but none of them have any shame. P45s should fly publicly at the AGM and even the press will see that tenants have had little choice but to act in this way given that our political elite at Westminster are determined to save staff at the TMO.

No, the actions of those below doesn't have to better than the TMO.

    12. If they're not at the AGM, give the P45s to the Chair announcing,
"Fay, I am giving you P45s for" adding the name of each person on the fake P45.

They will all be getting a P45 soon enough but symbolically it is important for tenants to say that they should have already got one.

P45s have an NI number on them suggest you use GT 80 80 80 +

Special resolution 6 is calling to allow RBKC to become the sole voting member. If this is passed, the members of the TMO (council tenants who have applied to be members), would lose their right to vote. Effectively removing the voice of the residents."

    2. 21.06 The Council was the "sole voting member" before tenant management. Public ownership of the housing stock in K&C resulted in 80 people burning to death. An ideological commitment to public ownership has not served anyone well. Be careful what you wish for.

    3. 80 people were burned alive under Council ownership of the housing in K&C. Does the marxist model of housing work? 80 dead, I don't think so.

    4. at LEAST 80 people died. In fact, we will never know. The heat has destroyed DNA. Where are those still assumed 'Missing'?

      Delete
    5. Ex Marxist has got a point, you know. Council Housing in K&C was appalling when the Council managed it. The Director of Housing, Mr Kingsford, became Chief Executive and Company Secretary of KCTMO and nothing changed.

    6. OHHHH, what then? Which devil are we to choose from? HA route or say yes to the resolution?! I want to scream..... Either way, it is bad but I think HA route is worse in the long run. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Anyways, petition is the right way forward in the meanwhile? Because it will give us more time to plan?

I am proposing to set up an unofficial committee. Anyone who wants to get involved is welcome. Will speak to Gordon about this.

    7. @10.47. Being shackled to the state for housing has not served anyone well in the history of Council housing in Kensington and Chelsea. In Local Government housing models, officers are supposed to be accountable to elected councillors in the discharging of their duties. In Kensington and Chelsea, this theoretical construct did not happen even when the Council ran the service in house. Prior to the creation of the TMO, the Tory Controlled Council had little interest in housing and abrogated all housing management responsibility to the Director, Mr Kingsford, a man who enjoyed his battles with tenants and who showed everyone who challenged his authority, (except his favourites Mr Beverley and Mrs Besant come to mind) who was boss.

For the last twenty-one years, we have had the Tenant Management fiasco; a beast devised by Mr Kingsford. The Tenant Management Board did not devise policy in any sort of practical way it just rubber stamped the policy proposals of the TMO Executive. I am amazed that the intellectuals who served on that Board over the years even managed to do that. One former Board Member comes to mind for his involvement in the rubber stamping of policy. This man could not read or write and eventually went to prison for many years for child abuse.

The Tory Councillors loved the unaccountable TMO because they could wash their hands of housing management and abrogate all responsibility to TMO with its democratically elected Board that was accountable to no one. One former Board member told me that he believed in God but was not answerable to God for anything to do with the TMO. So power at the TMO was concentrated in the hands of a few Executives most of whom lacked talent.

In view of all this, I think it time to move away from socialist dogma about the housing management service being accountable to Councillors and to try the housing association model instead. We have had Labour Councillors on the TMO Board and their efforts have not improved much for those dependent on the service.

In theory Council housing should be wonderful but there is a massive tension between the theoretical construct of officers being accountable to Councillors and its implementation.

      Set the tenants free.

    8. RBKC is a special case, its about the huge value of small spaces which can be sold off for Millions. RBKC obviously do not want the burden of social housing or social residents, they want to decant elsewhere to create a one off super ROYAL borough, the evidence of this is everywhere.
