Nice motor: £45,000 |
Mr Quirke, who now runs the Rotting Borough called the old thing up with the most impertinent of questions...
The thrust of it was this.
"Dame, I saw you in your rather pretty Armstrong Siddeley motor car.
I have decided that the Bentley, so cherished by ex Leader Cockell, is surplus to requirements.
Would you know anyone in the prestige end of the motor trade who might give us a good price?
Only 10,000 miles and one careful owner"
How dare he....as if the Dame would know anyone who bought and sold motor cars.
Yippee - well done Quirk!
ReplyDeleteThere’s a Bentley owner on the Worlds End Estate. Maybe he would like to add it to his collection.
ReplyDeleteIf the Bentley is to be dumped, this is very good news. The Provost of Aberdeen uses a Skoda. Very comfortable. Very cost effective. Not "in your face". Not trying to prove anything. Just doing a job.
ReplyDeleteThe next question for Mr Barry Quick is "Why does Kensington and Chelsea need TWO Mayors?"
How very Scottish @08:38
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor of Kent has a Toyota Prius. It does the job.
DeleteHow very Kentish @09:54
DeleteIs this a spoof story by the Dame? Has she been drinking again?
ReplyDeleteHow dare you suggest that our dearest Dame would make such irrational self-incriminating statements whilst under the influence? Flog the motor to the highest bidder. I guess the number plate comes with the car? Nice little extra.
DeletePair of Shire horses and a spacious carriage, a la Harrods would be in keeping with the posh Borough. Bentleys re so, so passe..
