SPECIAL NEEDS TRANSPORTATION SHAMBLES

Since Crystals were banned from tendering for the contract they had successfully operated for ages Special Needs transportation has descended into dangerous chaos.
The Dame will soon be examining a glaring example of how the new system puts at risk the young and vulnerable.
TOTALLY HOPELESS!

Cllr Elizabeth Campbell presides over this mess.
She should never have been given this post.

She has neither the intelligence or skills to exercise this heavy responsibility.

She should resign with immediate effect....another lousy appointment made by Pooter Cockell: a man who liked sycophants around him.
And it's not only E. Campbell who needs to get a grip.

David Lindsay need to show some muscular Christianity and set an example.
This whole issue was raised at Family and Childrens Scrutiny Committee and members were fobbed off.
It's time Scrutiny Committees acted as Parliamentary Select Committees do....with sharp teeth.
So Nick....stop Scrutiny being just a "signing off what the Cabinet members says" exercise.
Give it proper back up; a secretariat and rigorous accountability.

  1. Cllr Campbell is not the only passenger in the Cabinet who needs the boot. Cllr Paget-Brown needs an urgent Cabinet re shuffle following the election. This will be the first opportunity for him to stamp his authority on Hornton Street and get the Council on a sensible, resident friendly, course

    1. The current Cabinet is "tired" and "ineffective". Many are not fit for purpose (eg Campbell, Coleridge, Fielding-Mellen) and a refresh is long overdue. Councillors with common sense, a concern for residents, and balls, are desperately needed. Cllrs Mills and Gardner are two names that stand out. Cllr Freeman lacks horsepower but he is full of integrity. If the Leader can get his act together then he has the opportunity to build a balanced team.

  3. Horror stories at the way the children are being treated come in daily; so far no signs of action, the most senior officers responsible were on holiday when this new contract started up. No one seems to be in charge.

No one is ever in charge when the "nod and wink" appointments are being made.

If Hammersmith and Fulham goes Labour at the election next month then the Tri Borough stupidity is busted

  4. The balance of power between Officers and Councillors has gone badly wrong in Hornton Street. The politicians need to re assert control. Councillors need to understand that their duty is to take responsibility - for too many it is all about troughing and puffing up

  5. Cllr Moylan continues to brief against Cllr Paget-Brown and has told supporters that it is only a matter of time before Conservative Councillors realise what a hopeless person they have elected as Leader. Cllr Moylan has nothing against Cllr Paget-Brown personally.

  6. These Councillors have no shame. They are a disgrace but will be voted in yet again due to the apathy and complacency of the electorate.

  7. My son is being asked to go on Tour of London before going to school and I'm told this is "partly to reduce the number of vehicles on London’s roads, and partly to help reduce costs." .....

    1. That clearly suggests that the contractor is already cutting corners in order to meet the no-doubt ridiculously low tender they submitted in order to win the contract in the first place.

  9. Cllr Campbell is telling parents who want her to take responsibility that it is the fault of the Leader of the Council and the Chief Executive. Unlike Cllr Campbell, neither of them was present when the proposals were first slated at the Family and Children's Scrutiny Committee.
