NOTTING HILL DEVELOPER |
Dear Dame
I'm reliably informed that a senior RBKC planning officer recently warned a MAJOR Notting Hill property owner not to apply for planning permission till after the local election: why? - because the project may prove contentious and lose the council (aka the Tories) votes.
Yours faithfully

I have just Dez knocking on my door he says he wanted to stand as a Labour candidate but was kicked out by Dent Coad - is this true?
ReplyDeletePalmer and O'Neill, Dumb and Dumber, a match made in heaven.
DeleteNow back to the senior planning officer, that must be the senior officer for 'Central', who's that then? Anyone??
Knock knock!
DeleteWho's there?
Dez!
Dez who?
Dez anyone know how that eejit got on the Council?
yes Labour selected him again and again and again
DeleteIf you believe Dez you will believe anything
ReplyDeleteThe issue here is that a senior RBKC planning officer told an applicant to delay a planning application in order to protect tory votes. Have these officers finally taken leave of their senses? Any such interference with due process is likely to be not just inappropriate, but illegal.
ReplyDeleteIf it's illegal the person who has the story must report it to whoever has jurisdiction over these matters - is it The Electoral Commission?
ReplyDelete‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’
Is this yet another example of the fact that the planning department is completely out of control?
ReplyDeleteThe planning department is entirely under control.
DeleteOf its political masters.
There is no reason to believe the planning dept. is out of the control of its political masters. It's certainly shocking, but is simply an extension of the tories' routine practice of telling planning committee members how to vote, prior to meetings. So planning decisions are made along party political lines.
ReplyDeleteOver the years thousands of RBKC residents have been denied due process. It's probably illegal and is the norm. Officers assume such manipulation is acceptable, so they contribute to it. It has always been unacceptable and is Mr Holgate's duty to investigate and report to the proper external authorities.

We have had this in Hammersmith & Fulham. All contentious planning applications were cleared in the New Year. One or two new ones are waiting in the wings until after 22 May
