The Hornet's Nest took an early decision to avoid commenting on the upcoming election.
Sadly, even at this very early stage, the campaign has become saturated with lies and offensive comments about a candidate with a superb record of community service.
Mr. Groves challenged the Dame to lift her self-imposed embargo and publish his letter: the Dame succumbs to his challenge!
Dear Dame
Two candidates know the constituency inside out through years of working hard for residents.
Victoria Borwick and Emma Dent Coad have been hardworking and effective councillors for many years:Borwick has continued that as our MP.
Miss Mullin should come clean and admit she has never lived in our constituency.
From what I hear she lives in the depths of Lambeth, hardly a recipe for knowing our patch!
Apart from Linda Wade, the Lib Dems have been a total joke on the Council.
There used to be four now just one: says all that needs to be said about these blowhards!
Annabel Mullin, the Lib Dem candidate has written a letter implying that if you vote for her there will be either no Brexit or a soft one allowing an unrestricted flow of immigrants into our already overcrowded country.
She claims that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the EU.
Talk about having your head in the sand!
It seems her campaign is going to be about just about Brexit.
As the Lib Dems have nothing else to talk about it's no surprise.
As the Lib Dems have nothing else to talk about it's no surprise.
I own a house in the constituency-a modest affair owned for 40 years with a mortgage serviced through much sacrifice and hard work.
If Miss Mullin’s hero, Sir Vince Cable, had his way I would have been forced to pay a massive Mansion Tax or sell up.
Tens of thousands of constituents would have had their lives broken.
Remember this when you consider Miss Mullin.
Lib Dems are just supreme political opportunists: always have been and always will be.
That’s why in the end people see right through them and kick ‘em into the long grass.
The only authentic ‘local’ candidates are Borwick and Dent Coad.
Yours sincerely
Thomas Groves

Phew! That's skewering the Lib Dems......
ReplyDeleteWho on Earth is this creature Mullins? We have never heard of her. Guess not, as she resides in Lambeth and not accustomed to dining at The Belvedere...
ReplyDeleteAs for Borwick and Coad - dear friends you decide which one is better of the two evils... It is a known fact that a Tory MP is highly unlikely to criticize a Tory Council....
Sad Badger
DeleteOne doesn't wish to 'put you down' your hole but when you suggest that she is not accustomed to dining at the Belvedere you imply you and your brood are. Perhaps, what you mean is that you and the baby badgers scrabble around looking for bits and pieces which RBKC's rubbish rubbish collection have missed?
Corbyn and McDonnell are probably going to revive the Mansion Tax - and Dent Coad is a passionate Remainer, so will be tarred with the same brush as Mullin. Did the Tories re-select Victoria (a brilliant MP) or did they go for Julie Mills (a strong critic of the present Council? Either one suits me.
ReplyDeleteEven the weird Macron is now coming out and admitting the EU needs deep reform!
ReplyDeleteMacron is right. Britain should be at the top table with him, doing just that, not on the outside looking in, bleating about how those nasty EU people are threatening poor Little England.
DeleteI see Annabel is targeting EU nationals persuading that though they may not have a vote they can join her campaign by delivering leaflets! So typical of the Lib Dems....now Tim Farron is pretending he is a bit of Eurosceptic...what a bunch of hyocrites!
ReplyDeleteWell of course AM needs to get help from
DeleteEU nationals. She doesn't live anywhere near Kensington. Poor little thing has to make the journey into Kensington from the Nuclear Free Zone of Lambeth. I hear she is looking for a place to live in Kensington in the very unlikely event of her being elected. Bit presumptuous? Why had she removed the brackets round her Twitter Account. Please can someone explain the significance of this? Come on Annabel tell us why you have done this?
Apparently EDC is the Labour candidate - didn't she get sacked by her own party after less than a year as leader? Don't rate her chances of persuading Tory Kensington of her charms when her own bloody side can't seem to stand her...
ReplyDeleteWho cares about EDC. She is yesterday's woman. Not actually the last decade's woman. I want to know about those brackets. Has it got something to do with living in Lambeth. Some one said it was something to do with the Middle East. Surely not. What has that to do with Kensington? Thinking about it could be. Annabel has nothing to do with Kensington. Isn't that what they call an opportunist?
DeleteEDC is a passionate Corbynite and the rank and file of local Labour adore her. It is only the old fuddy duddy Labour councillors who did not take to her leadership.
Delete15:51
ReplyDeleteI think Miss Mullin should be very worried. EDC is very smart. She will know that the Tory vote is pretty intractable. Even those Tories who are cross about Brexit are smart enough to know that there is F***k all that the Lib Dems can do about and voting Lib Dem as a protest is cutting off your nose to spite your face.
My view, as an old Transport House hand(yes, I now I am very last century!) is that EDC needs to pile into the Lib Dems.
Locally, the Lib Dems have done nothing for K&C and their council representation, as Mr Groves says, is down from 4 to 1.
So that's my advice...give Mullin a good beating up.
Psephologically the Lib Dem vote can only improve. They reached their nadir at the last General Election.
DeleteEmma Dent Coad is confirmed as Labour candidate. Why are the Tories being so coy about their candidate? Is it because they have sacked Borwick?
ReplyDeleteI was on the TMO when Emma Dent Coad was on it. I always knew that that woman would achieve nothing and I was right.
DeleteYou are sooooo behind the times!!!
DeleteVB has been selected days ago. Please keep up
Borwick was reselected over the weekend, Friday I think. Dame would you be a dear and confirm this?
DeleteCiao bella
Yes, the Dame can confirm this
DeleteMrs May chose to make this election (held for the good of the country, not the good of her divided party, obviously) about Brexit; repeatedly insisting (make it stop!) that "strong and stable government" will better arm her against a united 27 that - understandably, given her abrasive tactical errors thus far - looks set to give her a deserved good kicking, to this country's detriment.
ReplyDeleteTo vote for a candidate that - resident here or not - speaks for the 70% of Kensington residents that voted Remain.... or a candidate that backed Brexit, allowing those many (impotent) EU nationals that contribute both financially and culturally to suffer unnecessarily, lives in limbo, while her strident boss cynically treats them as bargaining chips in an ill-fated chess game with Brussels? You decide!
Oh Bore off, the reason we have so many Europeans in the city are multiple, good schools, property to invest in, NHS, evading tax from their homelands.
DeleteEuropeans move to Great Britain have increased rent and house prices have forced the locals out of Kensington & Chelsea. Go speak to the shop keepers who are struggling who are begging for customers and been strung out by all and sundry due to this forced exodus.
I would like to know how many Europeans voted in the referendum who are not British nationals and do not have the right to vote. This would be voter fraud and instant imprisonment.
Your 70% borough voted for staying in the political union with the EU has no legs, %52 of the country voted leave! That's a democracy if you don't like it go to a European country, there is free movement.
Maybe you should be asking those Europeans for the money back who owe us from student fees who have scuttled back to the mainland without paying up.
EU nationals are not OUR concern, British and Commonwealth nationals are! EU citizens take and do not give, they always the ones that dump rubbish on the pavement too!
Inter alia, poor syntax suggests you are no authority on good schools.
DeleteAt the end of the day business will dominate. Mrs May proposed a formula months ago to safeguard the interests of EU nationals throughout the EU: it was rejected out of hand by the EU bullies.
ReplyDeleteIn 2020 Albania joins the EU. Nearly bankrupt with a population 50% Islamist and a good % very efficient gangsters. You dimwit! You want to welcome them here?
The Albanians are already here! Who cares if they're muslim or not we have had Russian and Eastern European crime gangs since 2004 thanks to Tony Blair. Lib Dems should stick to local issues that is the only fight of those of us in K&C care about.
DeleteRacism: such a bad and all too common look. Get your head out of The Daily Express!
DeleteDame, as you are a true English lady and believe in fair play as I recall looking over the boundaries between East and West Rifkind would slope between checkpoint "Pimlico" in to the borough from where he lived (Westminster) into the borough he represented Kensington. We have seen less value from Rifkind as we have Borwick,as we have Portillio.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Dame is d'accord with that
DeleteSaddened by this, dear Dame. We have had far more value from Borwick than from Portillo and Rifkind and the late Alan Clark put together. And she has only been our MP for two years.
DeleteHear VB is value for money, but in what way? Lots of general statements with very little detail of what she has been up to the past 2 years.
DeleteSurgeries every week across the whole constituency and then taking up the cases raised with her very effectively. The last Kensington MP who did that was Sir Brandon Rhys-Williams - a very long time ago.
DeleteMaybe some of those who complain about Victoria don't think that "the little people" deserve her attention.
DeleteEmma Dent Coad was born in Chelsea as the youngest of six in an Anglo-Spanish family, and has lived in North Kensington since 1986. She has worked on design and architecture magazines for most of her career, and has written or contributed to a number of books. She still writes on occasion for Building Design and local papers, as well as for The Voice on local issues. For the past 11 years she has been a Councillor in Golborne Ward, one of the poorest wards in London. She has been politically active since the age of 15 and is a fearsome campaigner. As Planning spokesperson for the Labour Group she speaks out for all communities facing unwanted development where there is no community benefit.
ReplyDeleteEmma says: 'Kensington is a microcosm of everything that is wrong in the country after seven years of incompetent government. In 2014 I proved that RBKC is 'the most unequal borough in Britain'. It sickens me that in a very wealthy constituency we have Food Banks, worsening health and life expectancy, and the return of Victorian illnesses such as TB and even rickets. I see money squandered while residents struggle financially. The police chase super-cars in one area, and knife-wielding gangs in another.
'I am Kensington through and through and would never stand in another constituency. As your representative in parliament I will speak out for all the communities of Kensington and work for a more equal society. My maxim is #OneKensington, and my personal knowledge of Kensington and its communities, together with my expertise in architecture and planning, will enable me to serve my constituency.
'We are facing very difficult times with the Brexit negotiations, and like many I am torn between respecting democracy and dreading the outcome for all of us. In a constituency that voted 68% Remain, our MP voted to Leave the EU. This is a situation that I simply don't understand.
'I will never forget, I work for you.'
This is Election material presumably put there by EDC or a supporter. It does not comply with the Representation of the People Act. Bad start EDC
Delete"I will never forget, I work for you." Sentimental Labour Party clap trap.
DeleteYes senitmental Labour Clap trap, Conservative MPs and councillors certainly do not work for us.
DeleteDent Coad says, on the Kensington Labour website, that she does not understand why Borwick voted to leave the European Union when 68% of her constituents voted to remain. Dent Coad also says that she believes in democracy.
ReplyDeleteWhen Borwick voted in favour of the Article 50 legislation, she gave effect to democracy, by respecting the wishes of the electorate of this Country, and she also obeyed her Party's three line whip. Jeremy Corbyn imposed a three line whip on Labour MP's and he also voted to trigger Article 50, just like Borwick, despite the overwhelming majority of his constituents in North Islington voting to remain. In this situation would Dent Coad break with Labour Party discipline and vote not to trigger Article 50, or would she go rushing off to her doctor to get a sick note to save face and reluctantly turn up to vote in line with her Party at third reading. Or does Dent Coad only believe in democracy when it suits her?
She is a bit of a marmite candidate. She is loved and loathed probably in equal measure. The proof of the pudding will be when the votes are counted.
ReplyDeleteEDC is not going to get in. She has made large of her Republican credentials on this website in the past. So how on earth could she swear the Oath of a Member of Parliament which is an Oath of Allegiance to Her Majesty, her heirs and successors. If she talks to the Jeremy, no doubt he will tell her how to take the oath in a way that is acceptable to today's loony left.
DeleteSurvation have been constituency polling in Kensington: http://www.markpack.org.uk/149652/kensington-constituency-poll/
ReplyDeleteAnnabel was brought up in
ReplyDeleteChelsea . She like most of the Borough/ Constituency supports Remain as does het parry. Lady B is a detetmined Brexitier.
My cat was born in a fish box but it doesn't make it a fish.
DeleteThe reality is that, like or not, we are leaving and there is nothing the silly old Lib Dems can do. As someone said, voting for them on the basis that they are anti Brexit is cutting off your nose to spite your face.
At least, Borwick and Dent Coad have local credentials: no matter how she swings it Miss Mullin is from Lambeth and has nil council experience.
Why is always Annabel as if we know her-and why should we-she's not from here. And Lady Borwick when you are referring to the MP.
DeleteI would never have known Borwick has a title: she never uses it.
I suppose you think we are going to be conned by talking about sweet, cuddly Annabel. If you think that you are a dimwit. We K&C voters are a bit more sophisticated than that. Stop trying to play the class card.
Dent Coad was once a Lady and is a self-confessed member of the upper middle class. But she knows what poor people need, so class is not an issue here. Borwick did not want to style herself Lady but Tory Central Office required her to do so.
DeleteI've heard Emma Dent Coad talk saying that she comes from a superior social class background. As a socialist, she is supposed to oppose class based societies. She is a victim of false consciousness. A pseudo socialist who thinks she knows what is good for people. Why would she admit to being presented to the Queen if she did not want to impress people like me of good peasant stock.
DeleteI am in a quandary as to where to cast my vote. Not Lady Borwick, as I am a Remainer (now of course a Remoaner). The Lib Dem is not a local candidate. The Labour candidate, although a Remainer, has a volatile personality and is reputed to be difficult to work with; and her Leader Mr Corbyn, surely a closet Brexiter, voted for Article 50. But as she has nailed her colours purely to protecting the poor and I am not poor, this makes it more difficult to vote Labour. Are the Greens going to put up a candidate or have they done a pact with the Lib Dems? I have also heard rumours of an Anti-Brexit candidate, which would probably be my best option.
ReplyDeleteEDC can become a republican MP - just cross her fingers behind her back when she swears the oath of allegiance and hope no one sees.
ReplyDeleteEmma won't get in. It is like saying that Brixton might go Tory. The Kensington Labour Party obviously thinks she is one of the greats of of the Labour Movement. She's definitely one of Labour's clear thinkers who does not understand why Victoria voted to trigger Article 50. They might ask Jeremy to recommend her for a peerage or make her Dame for services to the community
DeleteAs a proud member of Republic and a founder member of K+C Momentum, Cllr Dent Coad would of course refuse any sort of honour that might be presented by a member of the Royal Family.
DeleteYour wrong. Dent Coad has admitted that she was presented to the Queen with her late father, another Socialist, who took some sort of accolade from Ms Lizzie Windsor. Her Republican credentials remained in tact because she refused to to curtsey. I am sure that she manage some sort of wobbly bob instead of a curtsey.
DeleteKensington Labour's real agenda: We welcome all to join us at our first meeting.
ReplyDeleteThis will be a chance for members to meet each other, discuss interests and concerns and how to best take advantage of and support the change to politics Jeremy Corbyn brings.
Momentum exists to build on the energy and enthusiasm from the Jeremy Corbyn for Labour Leader campaign to increase participatory democracy, solidarity, and grassroots power and help Labour become the transformative governing party of the 21st century.
We made a big mistake when we did this Lisbon Treaty. We should have put in this Article 50 that if anyone tried to leave we would go to war with them and try to destroy. I know I am not German but my pappy fought bravely for the Waffen SS in Russia and my pappy in law also was very important in the Nazi Party.
ReplyDeleteFor us EU mandarins it's 'Deutschland uber(like the taxi) Alles' and you Britisher swine better get real and smell the coffee
Time after time, residents complain about RBKC Council on this website. The Council would not be happy with Emma Dent Coad as the local MP as she is experienced, knows exactly how they work and has demonstrated in opposition to have helped a wide variety of Kensington (and Chelsea) residents who have suffered from their appalling decisions. If she shows in the next few weeks that she is willing to represent all her constituents (Leave and Remain) she would get my vote. She has the wit and experience to take the leap from Cllr to MP.
ReplyDeleteVictoria Borwick has managed to transcend the political divide and treat everyone with the same courtesy and hard work. I wonder if EDC would be able to do that. I think she carries quite a number of chips on her shoulders
Delete16:22 I agree with you. I have written to both Coad and Borwick. Coad ignored my correspondence whereas Borwick engaged with me. I think Coad is a member of the Emma Dent Coad Society.
Delete15.12. Will you please tell us what Emma Dent Coad achieved during the umpteen years that she spent languishing on the TMO Board? I remember that she moaned a lot about people that she did not like.
DeleteEmma achieved nothing at the TMO. She used to snipe about Juliet Rawlings a lot and about Reg Kerr-Bell because they were Tories. Very unpleasant.
DeleteBoth Rawlings and Kerr-Bell are responsible for the dire state of the TMO today. Rebuilding it is a very difficult matter. Both were absolutely awful and just in it for themselves - Rawlings for her MBE and Kerr-Bell for a marble entrance to his council home. He is still furious at not getting the MBE.
DeleteEmma was in a quandry when she was on the TMO Board. She knew that if she told Tory Councillors straight about the TMO, they would sell the housing stock off to a private body or to a housing association. Socialism was her driving force. Tenants had to be chained to the state for their housing rather than set free from the TMO in happiness
DeleteDear Dame Hornet,
DeleteI agree with 08.55 above about one thing and one thing only. "The dire state of the TMO today." If Kerr-Bell and Rawlings are responsible for the "dire state of the TMO today" then Emma Dent Coad is equally culpable. She served on the TMO Board for eight long years - nearly as long as Rawlings. Although she was never TMO Chairman, she is a highly intelligent, educated, woman who knew perfectly well what the situation was at the TMO. Corruption, incompetence, and wickedness triumphed at the TMO including the period that Dent Coad was a Director of the Company. Did she call out the situation? As a Socialist, she should have broken ranks and resigned from the Board. By resigning, she would not have been bound by collective responsibility and would have been entitled to dissent publicly- in the press and elsewhere. What did Dent Coad do about the Independent Adjudication Officer's Independent Investigator who unearthed a serious suspected fraud? 10.05 above suggests that maintaining housing owned by RBKC influenced her most. Council tenants are as badly off today as they were when Rawlings was Chairman and if Dent Coad had been less spineless things might be different for those of us who are dependent on Council housing today. Dent Coad was on the TMO Board long after Rawlings left.
I was going to vote Labour but have now changed my mind. Anyone who acquiesces in the mess at the TMO is not worth voting for. I shall now vote Lib Dem.
Delete05.20. She has sniped to me about Moylan and Cockell. She lets herself down.
Delete06.09. Coad does not "let herself down" when she snipes about others to those whom she believes agree with her. It is just part of her personality. As someone above says,"very unpleasant"
Delete08.55 blames Kerr Bell and Rawlings for all that is wrong with the TMO but has not told us one single thing that Emma Dent achieved during her eight long years on the TMO Board.
DeleteHow can Emma Dent Coad not be responsible for the state of the TMO?She was on the TMO for donkeys years. Dent Coad and Condon Simmonds were a deadbeat useless pair.
DeleteSome months back I tried to get an appointment at the surgery of the actual Kensington M.P.. The case worker said there was no availability because Victoria Borwick was too busy dealing with lost passports. In other words they tried to fob me off. Quite a contrast to how I was dealt with by the secretaries of Portillo and Rifkind and I was able to meet these M.P.s as they dealt with my constituency matters. These two ex-M.P.s were Cabinet Ministers but still made time to meet and speak directly to their constituents, i.e. the people who they represent.
ReplyDeleteI tried to see Rifkind and his assistant told me to haul my sorry arse down to the Commons as he didn't 'do' surgeries on a regular basis: Victoria Borwick does. Another Lib Dem 'activist' representing the Lib Dem candidate from Lambeth! Miss Mullin, tell your lot to give it a rest.
DeleteBorwick is the best MP we have had.
Typical Lib Dem ploy....tell blatant lies. No one they only have one cllr. The other, Lomas was never voted in as Lib Dem
Conman why is Borwick the best MP we have had?
DeleteShe is the best since Sir Brandon Rhys-Williams because she actually cares about her constituents and is prepared to meet them face-to-face across the whole of the constituency. The last Conservative MP for Kensington who did that was the late Sir Brandon; the others (apart from Dudley Fishburn - who he?) were far too grand.
DeleteNot a single detail why she is a good MP.
DeleteLomas was elected as a Labour councillor. He was a protegee of Dent Coad and threatened to resign when she was defenestrated as Labour Group Leader. Then he left and joined the Lib Dems after Corbyn was elected as Leader (so saw some sense in the end).
ReplyDeleteFrom Momentum HQ:
ReplyDeleteTo mobilise effectively and ensure sustainable levels of mobilisation we must inspire, build morale and build confidence. We must also ensure that activists are well briefed, rehearsed and skilled-up so that they can be the best possible advocates for the Labour Party.
If you live in London and missed last week’s training, we’ve got another coming up this Friday at 6pm, TSSA Walkden House, 10 Melton St, Kings Cross, London NW1 2EJ. If you’re planning to attend, please RSVP
Annabel was born and brought up in London and feels passionately linked with it. Annabel is committed to helping improve the quality of life for everyone who lives, works and travels through the World’s number one city.
ReplyDeleteAnnabel’s expertise and specialism is the criminal justice system, not only does she have explicit practical experience of working with the law and administering it but is also currently pursuing a doctorate in criminal behaviour. Annabel has spent most of her adult life working in Central London whether as a PricewaterhouseCoopers analyst in Holborn, a Met. police officer in Soho and Mayfair, as an assistant psychologist with prisoners with severe and enduring mental illness or more recently as a PhD researcher at University College London in Bloomsbury and as a magistrate sitting in, amongst other places, Hammersmith and Westminster Courts.
Annabel has worked with the Liberal Democrats since 2008 and is committed to the party. She has a focus on motivating people towards the Liberal Democrat cause, particularly as London is The liberal city. A member of the Lib Dem Security and Liberty Working Group, Annabel’s motivation is providing a visionary approach to balancing data protection but also realistic responses to the needs of criminal justice agencies and the security services.
Annabel lived in Kensington and Chelsea as a child going to a local nursery and then primary school just off the Kings Road; She then completed her secondary education in Hammersmith. She attended Bristol University, UWE and gained an MSc Psychology from UEL. Annabel now lives in Lambeth with her husband and young children.
My cat was born in a kipper box but it doesn't make it a kipper.
DeleteOh, God, not another Lib Dem with a bleeding heart!
So she's an expert on criminal behaviour? What good is that in K&C?
She has gone out of her way to mislead people into thinking she lives in K&C by referring to Kensington from childhood days. She has not lived here for years. Her long term home is Lambeth. Stop taking us for fools.
Even if don't vote Borwick at least I know Dent Coad is a long term resident.
Maybe she we will deal with the corrupt councillors in Horton street. If that was her manifesto I would vote for her.
DeleteHammering on about brexit just loses vote not gains!
Victoria Borwick, Lady Borwick (born Victoria Lorne Peta Poore; 26 April 1956[1]) is a British Conservative politician who has served as Member of Parliament for Kensington. Borwick was deputy mayor of London from 2012 to 2015 and was elected to the House of Commons in 2015. She is also a councillor in Kensington and Chelsea and a Member of the London Assembly from 2008 to 2015. She worked in senior management for P&O and DMG World Media before becoming the Conservative Party's fundraising director.[2]
ReplyDeleteThe borough is in a bad state nothing been done in 2 years. Developers run this borough Borwick has not done a thing to better it. She has helped anitquers more than residents. Just go through the post on this blog all of these problems could been solved by Borwick.
Delete12.37 you missed this important bit. Very good reasons to vote Lib Dem this time:
ReplyDeleteBorwick publicly supported Brexit in the 2016 referendum despite the fact that the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea had a greater proportion of EU nationals than any other London Borough in 2016, with 69% of the Borough voting in favour of Britain's continued membership of the European Union.
On 8 February 2016 Victoria Borwick voted against seeking to protect the residence rights of citizens of the European Union and their family members who were lawfully resident in the United Kingdom on 23 June 2016.On 19 October 2016 Borwick voted against EU nationals living in the UK retaining rights, including the right to live and work in the UK, should the UK leave the EU. Borwick voted in the House of Commons in favour of triggering Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union (thereby beginning the process of Britain's withdrawal from the EU) by March 2017.Borwick later voted in favour of the European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill 2016-17 during its passage through the House of Commons in early 2017. Proposed amendments to the Bill, stating that Article 50 should be triggered taking into account the Good Friday Agreement and the interests of the people of Gibraltar were also voted down by Borwick.
Time to be concerned with British interests not these European tourists avoiding tax in their own countries. Hope they all leave, maybe then we will have cheaper rent and destroy the house prices in the borough.
DeleteDon't be dimwit.
ReplyDeleteMay offered, months ago, a deal to the EU to enshrine the rights of all expat EU citizens but her offer was kicked into touch by Druncker and mates.
Are you looking forward to Albania acceding to the EU in 2020? You are going to welcome immigrants from one of the poorest of Euro countries with 50% of the population Islamist and the rest mainly criminal. If you are you have gotta to be bonkers
