THE CHOICE? DENT COAD OR BORWICK

Over the last few years, the Dame has ferociously attacked the Conservative owned Council whenever she sees misbehavior so let no one say she is partisan.
Dent Coad
During the General Election, her plan was always to stay on the sidelines and not get embroiled in mudslinging.
Sadly, the old thing can no longer remain an impartial observer and here's why.
Borwick

The Dame has seen Borwick and Dent Coad in action.
They are both fearless fighters for those they represent.

It's been sad to watch the tactics of the Liberal Democrats activists.
Those who know Victoria Borwick knows she is one of the most assiduous of MP's....just, in the same way, she was one of the most devoted and hard working of councillors.
So, why are the Liberal Democrats spreading ludicrous lies about how she deals with requests for help?
If the only way they can gain support is by disseminating blatant lies about a hard working and committed MP it indicates the Liberal Democrat candidate is operating from a position of great weakness.
If Borwick can be accused of anything it's getting over involved in resident issues outside her province.

Why is the Dame supportive of her?

Because she has seen the evidence that every email and demand for help has been responded to....and more than that she has seen Borwick in action, in much the same way as she has seen Dent Coad serving residents.
The sort of spivvy campaigning so beloved of LibDems explains why they never get much traction in UK politics.

So, whilst the Dame won't declare for either, the only two candidates with deep and long track records of helping residents are Dent Coad and Borwick.

  1. Everyone in Kensington needs to be aware of just how dangerous Mrs May is for our personal wealth. Her proposed death tax (pay for care at home, down to our last £100k) is an abomination. Our modest £3 million town houses will be gobbled up by unfortunate dementia sufferers, while those in the rest of the country with their modest £500k homes will make a more balanced contribution.

Kensington families who have worked hard to save and mortgage in central London will be hugely penalised. It is not our fault that Kensington house prices have skyrocketed because of Government policy that gives developers free reign to build buy to let for foreigners with crooked money - this has pushed up house prices to scandalous levels.

The fact is that it costs the same to die wherever we live. Mrs May should think before she opens her mouth - in an effort to please the masses she has truly shat on Kensington.

Our only hope is Victoria Borwick as MP. She will take up the cause (as she has done for many other issues) and fight for her residents. She has a better chance of being listened to by the Tory Party than EDC.

  8. Ms Mullen is a newcomer to politics and is cutting her teeth in Kensington. Her campaign is slick and at some point in the future she may be a worthy candidate for Parliament. But at the moment she is a novice with no track record to speak of. Everyone has to start somewhere and she is serving her apprenticeship. But when it comes to voting she is not ready yet for Westminster. But good luck for the future and when you have some more experience to boast about, and a few success stories to refer to, perhaps you will switch campaign tactics from cheap shots at hard working and accomplished politicians.

    1. Brexit stance vs 69% of constituents
    2. Claim to support EU nationals vs the opposite parliamentary voting record
    3. Claim to support london clean air with a 100% voting record against Climate change measures

    9. Ah, Conservative KCF trolls come out to play.

Dame, Mullins did turn up to Earls Court events an area decimated by the Conservatives which has been reported on quite alot this was long before the GE was announced.

Borwick is local and has done nothing for Kensington residents and abandoned Earls Court residents to restless nights (at this minute in time) who have to go night after night including weekends with Keltbray working from 12 midnight to 6am and then work from 8am-6pm which goes against the rules of the council. HSE reports remain buried with the untold effects on residents from the demolition of Earls Court.

Borwick is a sympathiser to developers, she does not side with residents which is one reason she did not come out to support saving the Odeon. More comfortable in the presence of the likes of CapCo & DP9.

Truth of the matter is that Borwick does not care for residents whether at Westway, Notting Hill or Earls Court the position of MP to her is a vehicle to further her brand. This is illustrated by her constantly having her photo taken and carrying the flag for the antiques trade and tech firms, espousing the benefits of ivory and smart meters.

All we are looking for is an MP who sides with residents who will take on the developers and force the council in the right direction. We have lost vast swathes of Kensington Heritage with no opposition from our MP or council.

A new MP from another party might be a chance to clear out the Horton street stables. That looks like EDC is the best option for Kensington.

If Borwick's record was squeaky clean her team would not be on the boards here fighting tooth and nail to keep her in the job.

Most of us are Tories in Kensington & Chelsea but the local association, councillors and council have shown utter distain for residents and their concerns which is why membership to the association is at an all time low.

When we have a problem we go to the Dame. That says alot.

We are all in agreement that the Earl's Court development is a disaster for residents and Local economy and the only councillor that has stood up for residents on this one in Lib Dem Linda Wade. However I think you are wrong about Victoria Borwick who has fought for the Kensington Odeon to be saved, both as a councillor and MP, both in the planning applications and appeals.

  20. Report from political hustings at St John's Church earlier tonight.
Very weak and unconvincing show from our current MP, Victoria Borwick. Packed Church spent most of their time openly laughing at her responses to issues such as education, health and housing. Borwick was frequently heckled by members of the audience not least when she failed to provide a straight answer to the question regarding Brexit and when she started to waffle about healthcare. Weak and wobbly would best describe her performance which resembled something of a political car crash.
Emma Dent-Coad gave a solid performance on behalf of the Labour Party and came across as sincere and genuine. Annabel Mullin from the Lib Dems was suprisingly well supported among the audience and gave a polished performance. On this show the Lib Dems might do better in RBKC than expected as there seemed to be a strong feeling of local support for her anti-Brexit stance. The Greens and the various Independent candidates all had valid points to make and made these points well especially when holding the failings of the Conservatives to account.
Best part of the evening was watching Cllr Paget Brown sitting among the audience looking like he was sucking on a sour apple while Victoria Borwick crashed and burned. Great to see the smug smile removed from his face as the events of the evening showed that the Tories are not invincible.

    2. I agree with this - Borwick was a disgrace. Her voting record is seriously questionable and she is completely out of touch with her constituents. She may do well elsewhere but she is seriously wrong for Kensington. I was impressed by the Lib Dem, Labour, Green and both independent candidates. Of these, voting for Annabel Mullin (the Lib Dem candidate) makes the most sense to me. She is strongly anti-Brexit, which cannot be said of the Labour candidate who is not campaigning to retain membership of the Single Market. A lot of ex-Tory and ex-Labour voters who are disenfranchised by the polarisation of our politics are flocking to her.

  21. Mr and Mrs Mole1 June 2017 at 06:34

My husband and I attended the Kensington Hustings last night – for an evening of entertainment, education and dread. Sadly for us feminists, the two stars of the show were the Green candidate for Chelsea and Fulham, Bill Cashmore (standing in for the absent-without-explanation Jennifer Nadel) and an unknown Independent pro-EU campaigner named James Torrance.
Victoria Borwick gave fluent expositions of her “passions” (telling us frequently how passionate she is) all of which appeared to contradict her actual voting record in the House of Commons – a fact pointed out several times by both the Labour and Lib Dem candidates. The Lib Dem challenger, a Mrs Mullin, seemed fluent but strangely disengaged and made no lasting impression on my husband and me. Councillor Dent Coad, the Labour candidate, demonstrated yet again what a poor public speaker she is, putting on her glasses to read every address from sheets of paper and barely casting a glance at her audience. There is more to the job than public speaking, but her presentation as to why we should vote for her was bizarre compared to the clear reasons given by all other candidates.
However, the most depressing aspect of the evening is that while Victoria Borwick will win the seat by a landslide, she showed time and again that she is seriously out of step with the views of the majority of her constituents on so many issues, from Brexit, education cuts, support for the NHS, housing, poor air quality and climate control and even her willingness to torture foxes and slaughter elephants. I suspect my husband and I will vote for Mr Torrance. He was the youngest candidate, but was also the one who gave the most grown up and accomplished performance of the evening.

  22. Interesting to note that Mr Torrance's nomination papers were signed by a former Lib Dem council candidate and at least two current or recent members of Kensington Labour.

  27. KEMPSFORD KAMPAIGNER5 June 2017 at 03:42

    Dear Dame,

Borwick’s Earls Court colleagues are a joke and are losing her votes because of them attempting to make Paladin's permanent in Penywern Road, Kempsford and Eardley Crescent.

We already lose resident spaces as builders and other commercial vehicles park in residents’ bays all day stopping residents parking not only in their own roads but area. We have already lost spaces to these bins and bike racks.

    Aouane and Spalding plan to:

    1. Paint the bins in corporate black, to be consistent with other street furniture

    2. bins will be anchored so that it is impossible for people to move them from their designated location.

    3. Enclosures constructed so that the bins are more secure and the aesthetics improved. THIS WOULD COME AT A COST.

    4. ONLY three to four parking bays will be required for the bins to be placed permanently.

The whole thing has been a costly failure which is furth incur thousands of taxpayers' pounds but Dame who benefits from this? Not residents! A number over £100,000 has claimed to have been spent on these bins.

Fly tipping and rubbish dumping will supposedly be “Improved by signage would installed at each bin location explaining their use and the penalties for misuse. As well as "details for our “Too Big for The Bin” service would also be advertised on the signage, to help abate bulky waste dumping.”

We all know from our experiences across Kensington and Chelsea this does not work and would mean thousands spent on a dedicated council teams to tackle infringements!

“An enhanced and permanent monitoring regime would be implemented by the Contracts and Enforcement Team. Enforcement action would be taken where offences were observed.” Why then have residents in these three roads been fined heavily for parking near these bins in their OWN roads. Residents in these roads should have the money put back into their accounts.

There has been no public consultations by Aouane or Spalding, who do not live in these roads, but appear to be helping out a pal by dishing out cash from the public purse. Who is this pal?

Dame you said Corbyn will increase tax for all of us in K&C but for Earls Court residents voting Conservative means paying more tax for pointless bins!!!

Have a word in Lady Borwick’s ear, Spalding & Aouane are a liability and losing her votes!
