Pooter |
Just one of Pooter's bills! |
Well, it seems the Leader of the Council has decided to do away with past illusions of grandeur.
The Dame even hears that Pooter's especial folie de grandeur: the Bentley, commanded and commandeered by Pooter for personal trips, has been mothballed.
The Cabinet has been replaced by the Executive Team: a more down to earth reflection of how our little council is administered.
One person who Campbell should kick off is Mary Weale.....lazy, hapless and insolent.
She will always be known for her catchphrase..."we hear residents but we don't listen"
Mrs Weale is ward councillor for Hans Town though one would never know; she neither replies to ward residents or treats them with respect. She really is rather a dud.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, Nick Paget-Brown and Tim Coleridge were assiduous in carrying out ward duties.
Mrs. Weale should never have been given a £40,000 a year job on the Executive Team...she is quite undeserving in every way.
oh, it all sounds to, so 'democratic'.. From 'Cabinet' to 'Exec Team'. Nothing has or will change. The leopards are unlikely to change their spots, or toads become more active, only because the swamp has been renamed. The 'team' has to be disbanded and sent over the horizon and replaced. By whom? We shall see, soon
ReplyDeleteMaybe Labour will be the dose of salts
ReplyDeleteThe problem with DTS's suggestion is that, rather than speaking for the wider community, our new Labour MP has gone out of her way to alienate virtually every resident in the rotten borough by preaching class war. She's been shut down in in the last few weeks, but the damage is already done.
Delete12.17. I don't think Labour will "drain the swamp." Councillor Emma Dent Coad was no great shakes on the TMO. She definitely needed a dose of salts or even a rocket up her to focus properly.
DeleteDear Dame,
DeleteIs it me or is Emma Dent Coad MP unpopular?
I do not remember Borwick, Rifkind or Hands receiving so much criticism on these pages.
11.30 Emma is not popular. It is not her politics. She is a difficult woman. People don't like her condescending attitude. Hard to tolerate someone like that
Delete11.30 + 08.18. There's something disjointed about her personality. She has to be top dog. If people don't agree with her she scoffs and ridicules them.
DeleteA fat 'bully' and a 'punk' .
Delete15.14. You should not be personal about Emma. Her weight is not the point. Suffice it to say that she is an exceedingly nasty woman. Tells lies about Prince Harry because she is prejudiced. She was racist about Shaun Bailey.
DeleteThe Labour Party has a problem. When they allowed EDC to stand for parliamentary election, it was thought that she would not win.
DeleteLabour Councillors in the Borough sacked EDC as Leader of the Opposition Group on the Council after she held that position for a very short time because she is impossible to work with and cannot get on with anyone.
I have heard it said that the Labour Councillor, Judy Blakeman, a former Leader of the Labour Party on the Council cannot get on with her.
As she is very unpopular, how does Labour deselect her.
she's ghastly.
DeleteThe only reason she has not been done by the Labour Party is because they cannot afford to see off the Grenfell Tower MP.
DeleteCllr Weale's political career belongs in the wheelie bin and she shouldn't be on the Grenfell Recovery Scrutiny Committee: https://thisisnorthkensington.wordpress.com/2018/01/18/is-the-grenfell-recovery-scrutiny-committee-a-farce-think-scrutinises-some-of-the-scrutinisers/
ReplyDeleteSounds as though EDC has torpedoed Labour in K&C. Not the first time. What a very silly woman
ReplyDelete07.36 EDC is a stupid woman with an ego that would fill the Albert Hall.
ReplyDeleteOf course, in an ideal world, the Cabinet and the Executive Team would not exist: instead, we should, if possible, had reverted to the tried, tested and always successful committee system. It worked well for decades.
ReplyDeleteSo, the Bentley has been mothballed. I am sure the Dame might wish to acquire it as (one of)her personal conveyances
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the Council would accept £32,500?
Business as usual. Bentley and chauffeur were seen at the Town Hall on Monday evening.
DeleteAirhead Campbell would never adopt the "Committee" system. Too infra dig. She likes the "Executive" feel.
ReplyDeleteSees herself as a poor man's Thatcher
At home in Sloane Square (only a few doors away from Flood Street) dizzy has asked her family to call her "Margaret"
DeleteTrue Story.
