QUENTIN MARSHALL ESTABLISHES REPUTATION AS A BULLYBOY

As Mr. Emerson might have said of Cllr. Paget-Brown, "the more our leader talks of listening to residents the faster we count our spoons...."
New school for the Rock kids!

At the last planning committee meeting oleaginous chairman, Quentin Marshall, was overheard observing to a colleague, with an unpleasant smirk, "Well, that went rather well, didn't it".
Is that a Burberry scarf? So common!

What could Quent, whose other job is greasing up to clients at Weatherbys Private Bank, mean?

At theTown Hall planning meeting to discuss Ladbroke Library Quent decided objectors were a real and present danger to his safety.
So several Town Hall security staff, supported by twelve burly members of the Constabulary, were drafted in to give Quent 'close protection'!
How much did this show of force cost?
Experts suggest several thousand pounds in overtime.

And, for what purpose?
Presumably, to eject objectors objecting to Marshall's crude and boorish attempts to silence them.
When those rather genteel objectors voiced their concerns the bullying and deeply useless Marshall told them they had just a minute to make their point!
What a cavalier way to treat residents paying his 'allowance' of £40,000 plus!
But how different was his attitude to those supporting the scheme-architects and the Director of Libraries.
They were treated with the greatest sycophancy.
Each of the five-man team was given three minutes to make their case.

The Dame also demands to know why no documents outlining this application, and other major applications, were available offline as the Council is legally obliged to do. It might have helped Cllr. Rinker as he engaged in a last minute struggle to find out what was being discussed!
It's pointless Nick Paget-Brown running around the Borough asking those who put him in power to 'talk to him' when the likes of Marshall undermine all his good work by insulting residents.

Marshall's bullying and bombastic manner bode badly for those objecting to other upcoming major applications.

The Dame is a fearful 'old school' snob! She remembers the days when she and her husband, the brigadier, wore Burberry when point to pointing.
Now, it's worn by frightfully common people.
Either Quentin is a bit common, or no one has told him that only very dodgy people wear Burburry.....or, maybe Quentin is a bit dodgy......

    1. Quentin Marshal? Is that the chap with all the Eastern European sex cards in HIS ward phone booths?

Allows Eastern Europeans to continue their crimes with opaque glass to be a deterant to this serious crime. An unsavoury chap.

Paget Brown can expect fewer votes next year, not long now!

    2. Precisely so... let's all unite. Get the pathetic apathetic residents to get off their buts and vote for a change. Let's get rid of the Free Masons, the Free Loaders and just the old decrepit wood...

  2. Residents should not be surprised that Quent has started to behave in this way. Piggy gave the polo playing squiffy £40k and the opportunity to stuff residents when he extracted the dreadful Warrick from the Planning Leadership.

Failed Quent has proved to be a rolling stone in employment terms and has never managed to settle into a job. The Winchester CV and mum's money keeps opening front doors but he is rapidly shown the back door. In the meantime the Boy has found a safe haven in Hornton Street where he can puff and rub shoulders with foreign money (aka the Qataris and developers). Piggy's new bonus has given him puffortunity beyond his wildest dreams and it has all gone to his head.

    Sycophant extraordinary.

The brown envelope brigade recognise a gift horse when they see one and there is plenty of flattery being thrown at the boy.

  3. Quent and Rock (of course) are bosom calamities. Rock owes Quent one now that he has a local private school for his sprogs to go to. Thanks to Quent and his non resident friendly decision to close the much loved and needed Library. But of course this Council does not give a fig for resident opinion.

    Time for a celebration pipe?

  4. Once more, the Planning Committee demonstrates by its membership and behaviour that it is a joke. The self important American, Cllr Rinke (quaintly named after Jeremy Thorpe's lover's late dog) is the latest incarnation of bad taste to hit the table. There never was such a puff ball of self importance and self promotion

  5. North Kensington residents are just waking up to the fact that their "bigger and better" library is really just a trojan horse. The real reason £15 odd million of public money is being spent is on a new building is so that RBKC can faclitate the spread of private education in Ladbroke Grove. the Council are using tax payers money to finance the building of an new exclusive private school (to be housed on the top two floors of the new library building) for Alpha Plus. 300 extra pupils of secondary school age + 50 staff members will be sharing the building with libray users and the youth club. This is a recipe for disaster!

  6. Cllr Quentin Marshall has turned into a young version of Cllr Moylan. Desperate to be an MP and refusing to accept that it will never happen.

Cllr Marshall needs to come to terms with this reality and stop a spiral into bullying, grandstanding and degrading residents. This behaviour may make him feel superior but it is not what public service is about. He needs to think more about fairness, compassion and understanding.

The Dame reports that the Planning Chairman (Marshall) told inexperienced and angry residents at the Committee meeting that they "had a minute to make their point". It is stunning that such condescension continues to be practiced in the 2017 democratic process.

  7. Sadly this government condones what is happening here. Not only is RBKC using our Council Tax-payers money to build new schools for Alpha Plus (Chepstow) taking the greater part of the new library building (the storeys above the much reduced library facility plus the multi-use games pitch on the roof which Alpha will manage (it is supposed to be also for the community to use) AND the new school for Notting Hill Prep beneath the Westway where the Westway Information Centre was AND handing over the beautiful old North Ken Library to Notting Hill Prep – but all these developments come with the equivalent of one year’s free rental to enable the two schools to “fit out” their new premises built courtesy of the cash strapped Council Tax-payer. This smacks of exploitation of the worst order (there are stronger words to be used here but I do not want the Dame to be sued). Cllr Feilding-Mellen, who has the Cabinet’s approval to oversee all these developments, has declared that he has put his two children down to attend one or other of these schools once they are old enough. This is frankly disgraceful – and there is no known sanction available for this sort of behaviour.

  8. Isn't it rather perverse that the land grabbing, asset stripping thieves from the RBKC Council are protected by the Met Police?

  10. Rock Feilding Mellen acts like he is the Lord of the Manor but he has a background he might not want you to know about.... How could parents like these produce such a vicious neo-Con thug?

  11. Let's critique Feilding Mellen for what he does or does not do in relation to Council business. What his parents get/got up to is irrelevant. In the interests of fairness we should leave the eccentricities of his parents out of it.
The Dame reminds readers of her ghastly, criminal nephew, Ludo.

    1. Now now Dame, this is hardly equitable. You are not averse to commenting on Councillors' private affairs and penchants, and how they might affect their behaviour in the Council.

    2. Unfortunately this information is relevant- Feilding Mellen was badly bullied at public schol as a result of his parents strange druggie and head drilling behaviour. This experience has badly scarred Rock and he now seeks revenge by punishing and abusing those less privilaged than himself. Cllr Feilding Mellen is taking his anger out on the working class population of North Kensington who he cannot communicate with and do not have the power to fight back. What a sad character this clown is and what a danger to the community the bullied turned bully has become.

    1. The council do not seem to realise that residents are at the end of their tether. Local elections are only a year away and residents have long memories.

Time for the Dame to give the council an ultimatum either residents come first or our votes elsewhere.
